Yes, this dries fairly quickly then you mark out. Your paste that doesn’t dry is for checking the fit between two surfaces. Different jobs.

Would this work on a glock 17

Don't know if this will work for your Glock 17 but this product does not stain the metal very well and disappears when heat is applied to the metal.
