STORMGUARD 21SR3970020B UPVC Replacement Door and Window Rubber Seal - Black, 20 meters

Our conservatory is over 20 years old and the original door gasket seals had perished. They were brittle and hard, so sitting near the door in the winter meant you could feel a definite draught. Over the years I had tried to fix the problem with those stick on strips you can buy from DIY stores but they looked messy and were never man enough for the job. I had a glazing firm in who said that the original ones were no longer made - usual story - so I thought I take a chance and order online. I did some research and because they were in a state, I measured a bit of the old gasket as accurately as I could. This universal seal is perfect! So easy to fit, I was getting suspicious! The arrow head part just popped into the groove with a little bit of pressure, I got away without needed washing up liquid, but a great tip. As others have mentioned, there does seem to be a little bit of lubricant on already which definitely helped. I found that it pays to be a bit careful to keep checking that when you are pushing the seal in, to go back and check that where you first started hasn’t slid along, especially before you cut of the excess at the end. If it has moved, it’s easy just to push it back into place with a bit of thumb pressure. The worst part of the whole job was pulling and digging out the original seal from the grooves, especially at the base. I’m so pleased with the final result. As well as being more efficient, the door looks clean and brand new - better than it has for years. I don’t know why I didn’t do this ages ago.

Seal fit right in the groove where I removed the old one. Nicely lubricated out of the box, but make sure you keep the lid closed if you don't plan to finish the job that day as it gets a bit dry if left open for too long. For the price, I believe its worth every penny. My conservatory door and few windows are done. No more draft. Really happy with the product. But be prepared if your old seal is dry, the job of removing it is painstaking and time consuming. Also make sure you double your measurements if you have seal on both sides (one on window and one on frame) as you should.

I wanted to replace the seals around my uPCV front and back doors, and this did the job. It has a slight oil coating which is not only good for the rubber but also makes it easier to slid your finger along the rubber seal when pressing it into the door frame seal channel. Took about 10 mins for each door, and I'm a poor diy'er at the best of times!

Good quality and easy to install. Use a little soapy water to aid with install. With this I was able to replace the seals on one side of my Upvc door frame and also do 2 seals on a 4 x 4 meter window frame (6meters) and one seal on another 4 x 4 meter window frame (12 meters in total). Just enough left over for our small bathroom window (2 meters). Will happily buy another one for the rest.

I bought this seal for my windows in the living room as there seemed little point in replacing a perfectly good window for the cost of a seal. I did struggle to get the old seal out in a couple of places because the sun had damaged it but this is a DIY job that requires a little patience. The rubber seal comes contained within it's own tub, do not be tempted to take out more than you require as it does have a habit of twisting itself around. The seal has some lubricant on it which makes it very easy to slide into the frame and cuts to size with a pair of scissors. Once you have identified the shape of your seal, ensure you measure it accurately as there are many different sizes out there and a few mm make a huge difference in getting a proper seal. Save yourself a fortune and have a go, I am no window expert. Highly recommended.

Bought this for a uPVC door which had worn seals and a draught could be felt. Taking the old one out was a simple continuous pull, but putting this in was an absolute nightmare and I had to use loads of washing up liquid to lubricate, and afterwards, I had very sore thumbs! The seal is tight with a drastic reduction in draught, but the door is now hard to open and close. If you find you struggle to get back in after installing this, then push/pull the door shut and turn the handle.

Getting the old seal out was a job on its own, it had gone solid. As I am disabled this took longer than I think normally would. I managed the horizontal bits no problem, verticals would not sit properly, took me hours!!! The replacement seal is good quality with more than enough for the sliding door. Enough to do several windows I would think. Glad I decided to do this job as sliding door was letting in rain. Not now, very good, tight fit and sound proofing is better to.

Not bad, a little slack in the groove so feels like it will just fall out, however after a couple of weeks fitted in both a window and a French door it hasn't fallen out yet. Seals well enough but we did have a whistle through the door when it was very windy. A slight adjustment to the corner of the seal pretty much sorted that.

Nachdem mein Einkaufversuch im Baumarkt gescheitert ist, habe ich bestellt. Die Lieferung der Dichtung, offenbar eine britische, erfolgte schnell. Die Dichtung war im Eimer mit einer Flüssigkeit betreufelt, die das Produkt feucht und geschmeidig gehalten hat. Sie hat gut in die Nuten der PVC-Terrassentüren gepasst. Der Einbau war einfach und ging wesentlich schneller als die 19 Jahre alte "Dichtung" auszubauen. Ich werde mehr bestellen.

Mieux que les joints autocollants qui se décollent dans le temps Facile à poser, j'avais des portes et fenêtres avec rigole de 3.5 et 4.5 mm Le produit est livré dans un seau en plastique bien fermé ( pas facile à ouvrir ), les joints sont lubrifiés, pas besoin d'utiliser du liquide vaisselle pour faire pénétrer dans la rigole du PVC Le joint est souple, et épouse bien les angles seul reproche que je pourrais faire, c'est qu'il n'existe qu'en noir
