Can I use hex shank bits with the drill and impact driver ?

I’m not 100% sure , but I have used different bits in both and they have worked with no problem.

Why are there sparks coming from the drill when stopped?

Just about every cordless drill I’ve owned does this. It’s a common phenomenon with brushed DC motors. It’s because the brushes are spring loaded around the rotor and there are gaps around that rotor. And when the brushes jump the gap there’s a split second when they don’t touch the rotor and that’s where the electrical arc (or sparks) come from. You can replace the brushes once they get worn out and that should calm down the sparking.
