The first one I receive wasn’t working properly, in less than a week I received a new one in perfect conditions, the costumer services in all the procedure was amazingly good. After 2 months using it I can see the results, the hair doesn’t dissapier completely but I can see the difference. The constancy using the product luke the instructions said make the difference to see the results or not.Very happy with this product and the service that I had.

Not a quick fix but easy to use
I was a bit anxious before first using this as I wasn't sure what to expect, but I did the sensitivity test and found the highest setting 5 was comfortable so that's what I went with for my first session. It feels warm but it's isn't painful and the light is like a camera flash. The unit plugs into a standard socket and has good length cables. It whirs and beeps but it's fine to use in front of the TV. I found it much easier than my short-cabled 2 pin plug epilator and more comfortable. I do find it hard to know where I have already treated so I'm sure I'm not getting all the hairs each time. After a 3 fortnightly sessions treatment I have noticed sparser hair growth but the results aren't dramatic. Further treatments are clearly necessary and several treatments are recommended for best results due to the growth cycle of the hair. The bulb is good for 150,000 flashes so plenty to cover many treatments. I'll have to wait and see how effective it is long term.

Decent, but clunky and corded
With apologies for the really long review, I tend to avoid this kind of length but with IPL it helps to be informed before buying because there are a lot of restrictions, safety warnings and there's also some need for expectation management. It's been several years since I bought my first IPL system (a Boots own-brand version), and during this time the promotion of IPL systems and descriptions of what they can do have become clearer, and the machines themselves have improved. Earlier versions from most brands required the use of proprietary gels, and failed to properly explain the huge range of limitations associated with these machines. Descriptions and machines have improved, and up-front limitations with regard to suitability are made clearer.IPL is reasonably effective within a restricted range of the light spectrum. Essentially, IPL should work to some extent IF you have suitable skin, darker hair, are free from moles/freckles/scars/permanent makeup/tattoos on the areas where you want to use the system, don't have any of the contra-indicating medical conditions and don't suffer any adverse reaction from conducting a patch test. The list of prohibiting conditions is extensive, so you should always check the detailed information available on the manufacturer's website (not always available on online stores retailing IPL systems) or talk this through with an in-store specialist. Boots have them. Amazon may even have specialist online support. In really basic terms, IPL works on the basis of absorption of light: darker colours absorb more light than paler ones. This is why IPL has some effect on pale to mid-tone skin/dark hair combinations (the skin doesn't absorb the light, the hair does), is ineffective on pale to mid-tone skin/pale hair combinations (neither the skin nor the hair absorbs the light), and unsuitable for dark skin/any colour hair combinations (the skin will absorb the light and risks burning in addition to not having any focussed effect on hairs). The latter prohibition is important, because this is where moles, freckles, liver spots, broken blood vessels, tattoos, tanning, permanent make-up, blisters, cuts and scars can have impact: all of these are factors that change skin's underlying absorption of light and so could cause problems if you attempt to use IPL.Still talking in general terms, IPL is not a miracle system that permanently arrests hair growth. If it were, I wouldn't be reviewing a new release IPL system almost ten years after buying my first one. It is expensive, requires work, but can permanently reduce hair regrowth if your skin and hair type on the areas you want to treat are suitable. I'm a (very) pale skinned natural brunette. I can use IPL on my legs, bikini area, most of my underarms, and my face. I can't use it on my arms, as I have a number of moles, a number of scars and am prone to freckling. In specific terms:This machine offers an all-in one IPL system. Unlike some others, it can be used on the face as well as the body. No special creams or gels are required (although it is always recommended that you use suncream/after sun lotion after using IPL). The bulb is non-replaceable, so the machine has built-in obsolesence. To be completely fair, many IPL systems where the bulb is replaceable have bulbs that cost as much as the system itself... and it would make little sense to replace this by the time it stops working.I'm not a big fan of this machine. It's not one of the more user-friendly IPL systems I've encountered. The corded design is heavy and clunky, and the handset itself is poor. The handle is horrible. Wide to grip, but also squat and clunky. There is a large plastic area around the sensor window - I assume this is designed to protect against spread of flash... but this makes it really hard to gauge the extent of the area that has actually been treated at any one time. Since it's dangerous to reapply the device to the same area you risk burns or huge gaps in treatment area. Using a white eyeliner (which can't absorb light) has been suggested as a good way to keep track of where IPL has been used - but even using this trick, this would leave significant gaps. The face adaptor has a narrower window, but also introduces a different filter. Don't try to use this for your legs! The device has a built in skin sensor, so iti) won't work if you attempt to use it on skin that is darker than recommendedii) won't work if the contacts built into the surround aren't correctly depressedThis works reasonably well if you fit the exacting criteria required. It's not by any means the neatest or easiest to use system, and has a single use bulb. I find it on the expensive side for a corded machine, and assume the manufacturers will drop the price in the run up to Christmas to make this system more competitive. I don't like the fact that there's no storage bag/case to protect the machine and/or the different filters when not in use.

Good product but patience is required for results to appear
IPL, Intense Pulsed Light, technology has been around for a number of years and is becoming a widely used tool for body hair removal. It is generally accepted that IPL is not as effective at removing hair than laser treatment. Both techniques work in a similar way by producing light energy which is absorbed into the dark hair pigment which then damages and ultimately kills the hair follicle.IPL uses a broad spectrum of light, similar to a light bulb, which is directed on the skin while laser produces a concentrated beam which is able to be targeted on the hair much more accurately. The main advantage of IPL is that it is cheaper than laser, but there is a risk of burning the surround area of skin because it targets a wider area. Some hair removers marketed as laser are in fact IPL machines, so be aware. The i Light IPL6780 is one in a number of similarly looking devices in the Remington range. It’s a little confusing because they all have the same functionality, but come at significantly different prices. The 6780 is an attractive machine, consisting of a hand piece attached to the base unit via a cord. There are two attachments, one for body hair and the other for facial hair, the difference between each being the size of flash window (the body is slightly larger) and frequency of flashes (body flashes every 3 seconds, face every 4 seconds). Both are easy to fit and remove. The base has a small window with which to check the skin tone. Simply place the area of skin to be treated onto the sensor and a beep will be heard and the machine switched on if suitable. If the skin is not suitable, such as it being too dark, the machine will buzz and remain switched off. It’s a good safety feature which is quick to carry out.Once switched on the hand unit is easy to use and comfortable in the hand. It’s quite small, 15cm x 7.5cm x 5cm, so is easy to manoeuvre around the body. The light pulse is activated by a button on the top of the hand unit which is held down to produce a pulse every 3 or 4 seconds. There are 5 energy levels, 1 being lowest and 5 highest. The device will automatically set to level 1 each time it is switched on, another good safety feature. The instructions recommend starting the treatment at level 1 and waiting 24 hours to ensure there are no adverse skin reactions. To change the level, press the selector button on the base unit and observe the number of lights on the display. As a guide, the level selected should cause warmth and slight but tolerable tingling only. If it causes discomfort move down a level, remembering to test each different area of skin on the sensor before proceeding. The results are best when there is a dark hair, pale to medium skin combination. Its best to start cautiously with careful strokes over the skin to avoid overlapping and overexposure. It does work, but several sessions are needed over the course of a few days. A little patience is required but the results are worth it for a permanent solution to unwanted hair.

Dont buy it.
I have used it in about two years and now it burns my skin. Amazon refuses to find a solution as the warranty is only two years and the company doesn't answer. So If you want to buy something that works just two years its your choice.
