Good
This kettle has a very sleek look, boils quickly and sits securely on its base but doesn't get caught when lifting. A good quality kettle for the price.

Lets hope it lasts!
Sturdily built, easy to handle and pours without dripping. The filter is removable and easily cleaned. A huge improvement on its predecessor of the same make.

OK at the price but some issues
Likes: price; boils quickly (quicker than my previous R-H kettle); button-press to open lid, which opens wide; window which allows to see how much its filling at the tap (but see dislikes below).Dislikes: doesn't switch off quick enough on boiling (same as my previous R-H kettle) so steams for 2-3 seconds; the 'Perfect-pour' spout doesn't pour perfectly, especially if only boiling one cupful - water drips ether side of the spout on pouring (my previous R-H kettle had wider spout and _never_ dripped like this one....); window does not light up when switched on (previous R-H kettle window lit up making it much easier to see how much water was being boiled).I wanted a cordless kettle with button-opening lid and window and didn't want to spend much, interested in utility rather than fancy design or looks. I'd been fairly happy with my previous R-H kettle which similar design and price and lasted 4+ years before the button-lid stopped opening (broken) and I could see no way to repair it, so this R-H kettle seemed to fit the bill in both design and price. I've been using it for 4 months now and I'm happy enough with it but, like my previous R-H kettle, it doesn't switch off quick enough on boiling so produces a fair bit of steam until it does click off (it has never failed to click off, at least) so if I'm nearby I manually click it off. I don't know why they narrowed the design of the spout, my previous R-H kettle with wider spout poured just fine and never dripped, unlike this one which drips either side of the spout when up-ending the kettle when only one cupful of water is boiled - annoying. The kettle also doesn't seem to sit as snugly on the base so it wobbles around a bit when boiling.... The push-button lid works well though, and it does boil a full load quicker than my previous R-H kettle. To me the design and looks are fine too but then I'm not fussy about such things, just want it to do the job.If it had been a £40+ kettle I'd likely have returned it and tried another model or make, but for £19 with a 3-year warranty (2 years + 1 year on registering) it'll do!

A GREAT, LIGHTWEIGHT KETTLE AT A FANTASTIC PRICE!
I recently needed a new kettle after many years and chose the Russell Hobbs Black 300W, thanks to a recommendation by my Brother and the added bonus that it was on sale. I'm glad that I did!Firstly, the kettle holds 1.7 litres of water, more than enough for the trio I usually make tea for, and (as stated on the box) generally boils a cup worth within 45 seconds. Although made of plastic, the kettle is extremely durable and surprisingly light to pick up, a fact not lost on other members of my family! The lid springs open conveniently at the touch of a nearby button, allowing the kettle to be filled easily, while the bottom on/off switch illuminates while boiling is in progress. This is a nice safety feature which my last kettle sadly did not have.A transparent water level window on the side of the kettle lets us know how full it is, although I found that after several uses this unfortunately tended to steam up and become less easy to decipher. However, one good feature is a trio of plastic markers inside which show us when 3 cups worth of water have been added, so this does help offset the minor problem with the external level indicator. Some fellow reviewers have complained that the kettle is noisy, but is no more so than others I have used and besides, at least this noise lets me hear when the water is on the boil as I am usually doing other tasks in the meantime! Furthermore, unlike other reviewers, I have never experience any leakages from the spout, and have indeed used the kettle many times to date. Whether this happens at a later date remains to be seen. The kettle comes supplied with a round base and cord to plug it into a power socket. Both are sturdy and well made, much like the kettle itself.I am very satisfied with this Russell Hobbs kettle and recommend it wholeheartedly, especially since the appliance is so quick to produce results and also extremely energy efficient, too!

One of the worst kettles I have bought...
One of the worst kettles I have bought. Sure, it boils water just fine and pretty quickly for a cup or two (hence scraping a 3-star rating), but its pouring is simply awful. No matter how slowly and carefully you do it, half your boiling water ends up anywhere other than in the cup. It specifically promotes 'Perfect Pour" as a special feature, but I think this must have been the design team's little joke. Buy this, then buy a good supply of kitchen roll for the constant mopping-up.

Insgesamt gute Leistung

Update Description
I am not fully happy with this purchase because I ordered a new item, and it came with the little part chipped from the base and a few scratches on the base like it was used. What made me disappointed was the fact that in the description it is nowhere mentioned that the electrical plug is for the UK, nor you can see it from the photos, so I had to additionally buy an adapter for Europe.
