Made By Johnny Faux Leather Jacket Women Motorcycle Coat for Biker with Removable Hood

Disclosure: I'm on my third attempt at buying this jacket, but that's on me. First and foremost, this jacket runs small. Amazon recommended a medium for me, so I first got the large (in the charcoal version) but found that while it fit, it's too snug and isn't likely to work well once I have heavier clothing on underneath. I reordered an XL but I changed to the "black" version. It's important to note there are some style differences between the two styles. Charcoal: has decorative pockets on the chest, includes extended sleeves (sweatshirt material) complete with thumb-holes, has a normal collar. Black: no pockets on the chest, no extended sleeves, and the neckline is a short straight collar without folding. None of this makes the black version bad, but it's just a matter of personal preference. Anyway. I've reordered the charcoal version as an XL and think that this will be great. For whatever size Amazon recommends for you, I'd go up two sizes. It seems like it will be a solid jacket for late fall, early winter. There are two zippers -one interior zipper for the sweatshirt type material, then the exterior zipper for the faux leather part. For length, it comes down just over my hips (I'm 5'2", so your mileage may vary). This won't be a subzero weather jacket, but after experiencing many winters, I think it'll be fine for 35F + . I think it looks nice, and I'm looking foreard to wearing it. PS: it's definitely fake leather, but has a nice appearance.

I purchased this jacket and I absolutely love it! I bought the charcoal/black color, size large and it arrived looking like it does in the photo. Jacket appears to be made well and it is not only comfortable, but pretty warm as well. I usually wear size large in jackets/hoodies and was worried about purchasing a motorcycle style fit jacket because I am rather busty, and because of the other reviews I've read, but I followed the size chart measurements and the jacket fits perfect! The faux leather is very soft so I'm not sure if it can be easily snagged or ripped, but I haven't had ay problems with this yet. The photo for the jacket appears as if the jacket comes with a hoodie as a 2 in 1, but actually, the hoodie is just a lining that lines the inside front part of the jacket, it runs all the way up to the neck line, (which is the hooded part), and runs back down to the other front side of the jacket. This piece can be removed easily and gives the appearance of a leather jacket, minus the hood. Another nice feature that I didn't see mentioned is the cuffs on the wrist of the jacket have thumbholes. I found that to be a nice surprise. I will definitely be ordering this jacket in another color!

I am 5'7" and 130 lbs, wide shoulders and long torso, athletic build. I bought this jacket in both medium and large. The medium fit pretty well but the arms felt a little short for me (maybe because I have ridiculously wide shoulders). The large felt comfier but it looked too boxy. All in all, I had hoped the jacket would sit longer but it sat right at my upper hip bone which wasn't the style I hoped for. It was warm, comfy, and easy to move in; if it had been a few inches longer it would have been a keeper!

I bought one of these jackets eight years ago, and really, really liked it. To be fair it wasn’t the best quality (the zippers tended to get stuck shut), but I liked the look and fit and it held up well. I wore it probably twice a week, across three continents, and in all kinds of weather. Then, all at once, a few months ago, the faux leather started to irrevocably flake off. I came back to buy another and saw in the reviews that it is now branded as Lock & Love and not Made by Johnny. Unfortunately, it’s not quite the same. The images show the old Made by Johnny jacket on the left, next to the new Lock & Love version of the jacket on the right. Despite a very similar pattern and hardware, there are some differences. Both are XS, but the new jacket is slightly longer and larger. The new jacket has an added hook loop (great!), and a tag warning about lead exposure (mildly concerning). The older MBJ jacket is also “black” but has some dimensionality and variation in color, a matte-ish dark gray that’s almost a denim look. There’s more texture, especially around the seams, and the stitching uses a thicker thread and is neater, with fewer loose threads. The new L&L version is very flat, both in construction and color, with almost no gathering at the seams and a shiny dark black finish. The look is still good, but what concerned me enough to return the L&L jacket is that the material is different and I don’t think it will be durable or wear well. In one of the photos I show the buttonhole at the cuffs: the PU fabric on the MBJ jacket is uniformly dark, so even once the coating started flaking, it wasn’t that obvious because the fabric beneath was the same color. On the L&L jacket, the material is white beneath the coating, which means you can see points of white showing around some of the stitching, and any nicks or flaking in the finish will be obvious. In fact, the jacket arrived with some minor flaking already around the front zipper (see photo). At a much lower price I might keep it, but I think it’s overpriced at this quality.

So this is may be the only purchase I've made in years that has actually made me happy. I'm a 5ft tall 220lb woman with a pretty large bust and I am in no way skinny lol. The other reviews I read said to order a size up from what you usually wear but for me it wasn't needed (granted XL is the largest size they had it in but still). I can actually close the zipper and by close the zipper I mean it actually zips closed over my chest too which is very hard to find for someone like me. The sleeves can get a little tight wen I stretch, cross or flex my arms but not enough that it's uncomfortable but that's expected when your arms are a bit chubbier than most. Also the jacket itself is made of good material and isn't too thick that you can't wear it in summer but is thick enough to keep you warm on a chilly day. I also love the thumb holes!

At first I was put off by the price. That, and I couldn't figure out what size I wanted. I actually asked about that (see above question about that 36D bra size -_-) but then, after arguing with myself for hours, I went with a MEDIUM. I wear a small in the torso, BUT MY BOOBS make sure I have to buy mediums (5'4 125 pounds but I have long legs and a long torso). I was worried all week about it being too small, BUT IT FIT ME PERFECTLY!! I've never had a jacket so faltering in all my life! I absolutely adore this jacket! And, it's surprisingly warm. I live in Ohio, and I will defiantly be wearing this on some of our warmer winter days (20 degrees and up.) Also, It came a day early. I ordered it on a Tuesday and it came on Thursday with normal 3-5 day shipping. That really made my day! I can defiantly say I would buy this again and it seems very durable. It was defiantly worth the $50, and this is coming from a person that hesitates to but a $1 burger when she hasn't ate in 2 days! By far, one of the best things I have ever purchased off of amazon. It fit perfectly! I can't say enough good things about. I would defiantly advise buying it!

This jacket is next to perfect! True to size, I bought a black/charcoal in a size medium. I'm a small but I wanted to be able to wear maybe a sweater or sweatshirt underneath. A size small it would have been perfect fit but a bit snug with thicker clothes underneath but that isn't why I'm giving only 4 stars. I just got my jacket today and there was a weird gross sticky clear slim stain on thr hand glove sleeve material. Could be snot, could be glue either way, GROSS. I sent a message to the seller waiting to hear back for now. Also found alot of random cat or dog hair on the hood. Not cool, I'm allergic to cats so this is OBVIOUSLY a return from someone. Taking back a couple more stars.

I'm 5'10" and around 170 lbs... lonnnng, ET arms... the extra large fits just right and I absolutely LOVE everything about these warm jackets... the quality is marvelous! Silky feel to the pleather, and the jacket has WEIGHT to it. Long story short, GET ONE. GET SEVERAL DAMN IT! I ordered three different colors because I was so pleased and also because I never buy myself anything. For this price you really can't go wrong. Oh, fast shipping as well, and the jacket was carefully wrapped; the zipper heads were even covered in tissue paper and taped...of course, I realized that thoughtful detail when I was getting coffee in the middle of a busy WAWA and I suddenly didn't feel so cool anymore in my cool, new jacket! (I hastily removed the paper and I feel cool again, no worries. You will too!)

I'm 5'4 and 115lb, the small isn't super fitted on me but it isn't too big either. I wanted an XS because I like my jackets skin tight but they were all out of that size. Also the hood is rather small/short even for my little pinhead. Over all I really like though, it seems to be good quality and keeps me warm.

I love this jacket, but the reason I'm making it 3 stars is because it's technically not the one I ordered. I ordered the charcoal colour one because it had more of a matte look to the leather. This came in just black and is shiny. Like you can tell it's faux leather.

Very cheaply made. Fits poorly. Do not buy this jacket! I returned it, the seller claimed they never received it (I paid the postage) so I’m out money. Amazon won’t help because it’s a 3rd party seller. BUY A DIFFERENT JACKET!
