Works great; great customer service
I had connected the wrong cord and couldn’t get it to work. Customer service told me to use the cordThat didn’t flip the wires and it worked great after that!

A good laser (but be aware)
The first unit I've got didn't work properly. I think the nozzle (air assist) was not machined properly. See the comment from another user that had a similar issue and he solved the problem by enlarging the hole in the nozzle). The laser ray was hitting the nozzle and as a result it reflected the light randomly. Ultimately the laser was not focusing properly unless I took down the air assist. The second unit worked out of the box perfectly (with the air assist on). Although the first didn't work I gave it 5 stars because:1. Ultimately it worked as expected (errors happen sometimes but as long as the manufacturer fixes them, it's not a problem)2. Customer support was very responsive and offered to replace the unit right the way. I found them very professional3. The laser is well integrated with the 4040-PRO4. You can cut 11 mm plywood and 3mm acrylic (coloured) without a problem. For a diode laser you can do quite a lot. Don't expect high power and CO2 capabilities though5. Complements the entire ecosystem (4040-PRo CNC machine, 4th axis) quite nicelyOne observation, the support team said there is no pump for this laser offered by Sain Smart. That is very strange because I found that Genmitsu pump: https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B0BKGFSQC3 works just fine with it.

Replacement works Great! (1 star for now but ordered a replacement)
UPDATE: As I expected, the new replaced unit works great. I hope the defective on is recalled and not sold to anybody.---Spent the whole evening trying to make this one work but with no luck. Bought this as an upgrade for 5.5W module that worked great but I needed a more powerful laser now.The 3-pin connector and all the wiring is correct, I check the back of the PCB of the laser for 12V, GND, PWM pinout. Using a 12V 5A power supply. Fan is on and laser reacts to LightBurn. Yes, everything is set to "Laser MODE" with $30=1000, $32=1. PWM signal is also correct, that is 5V @ 1kHz. I can see that with the oscilloscope and the duty cycles changes accordingly with G-code commands. With G1M3S1000 I do get a solid +5V at PWM pin, with G1M3S500 around +2.7V that is ~50% duty cycles @ 1kHz.However at 100% power it is much much weaker than a 5.5W laser. At this point I believe I received a defective module and ordering a replacement (returning this one and buying the same).

update review
this is updated review.I gave only 1 star in the beginning due to the power is very low. and Tech support did not responds for a week. After tech support reach me, explain they have trouble receive message in their system, the communication become much smooth. Joe suggested me to change the $30 = 1000. I am a beginner, I wont through the max spindle speed has anything to do with the laser power. And this is not motioned anywhere in the document. So, after change the $30=1000, $32=1, the laser is working perfectly.I now can cut 5mm pine plywood in 1 pass (speed = 300mm/s, power = 80%)
