Brylcreem Protein Enriched Hair Styling Cream for Men , 250ml, Pack of 1 , ‎Unscented

I'm old enough to recall my dad using Brylcreem when I was a kid in post-war Essex, and he was home from the war; that memory, along with probably 95% of the rest, got filed away under "deja vu" in my mind. When I was at school, mum used to do my and my sister's hair in ringlets... I'd always had dark curls - I recall ironing my hair back in the late 50s when I was a mod, and later when I had the long dark waves (Rita Hayworth?!) cut off, they sent the hair to China for making wigs. In the 70s I was a hippy and it was a wild tumble of brunette curls. But enough of the history of my hair (boring, yes?) - it all began to change as I hit 70 and now although it's still curly and I'm long past colouring it, it has a sprinkling of grey and the texture has become less soft and springy - it was thicker and tougher somehow and only really looked good for the few hours after I'd washed it. I found myself thinking that what I needed was what dad used back then - something to make it shine and stay put but without being sticky... I looked in the chemists and the supermarkets, but they didnt seem to sell Brylcreem... and then I found this on Amazon! Wonder of wonders, it is the PERFECT product, it does exactly what I want. My hair is shiny, healthy-looking, curly but not wayward; it's extremely easy to use, it even gives my hair a deeper brunette appearance; it's not sticky or stiff, in short it is wonderful. Shampoo, brush hair whilst damp, apply small amount in fingertips, brush through and style. Job done! Cheap, too - a huge amount for less than a fiver and because you only need a tiny amount, it'll last ages. Thank you, Amazon! p.s. you'll have gathered I'm a woman - this isn't just for men!

I learned about this product when I was looking into the classic mens hairstyles so I looked it up here on Amazon and bought it. Great price and a very quick delivery. I've got a pretty thick head of hair so the first time I used it I didn't listen to the "a dab'll do ya" thing and used way too much and it left my hair greasy and really wet looking which I didn't like. The next time I used it I tried using just a small dab and massaged it all throughout my hair and it left my hair looking shinier and a bit darker than normal without being greasy, it just left my hair looking very healthy and natural and extremely soft to the touch and I love it! Usually when my hair dries after a shower it becomes really dry and frizzy but if I put a small dab of Brylcreem in my hair it will weigh the hair down a bit taking the dryness and frizzyness away and leaving me with a soft, shiny and really healthy looking hair. The slogan is true, a dab'll do ya... unless you want your hair looking and feeling greasy (which I don't like). Even if you accidentally put in a little bit too much and your hair is slightly greasy it will get less greasy as the day goes on but your hair will still look and feel soft and shiny. I highly reccomend this product and think it should be a stable item in every mans bathroom. As for applying it: I would reccomend towel drying your hair thoroughly after a shower so that it's not wet but a bit damp and then applying some Brylcreem, it seems to be a bit easier to apply to damb hair and you don't seem to need to use as much because the damb hair makes it easier to apply evenly throughout your hair. I've also tried applying the Brylcreem to completely dry hair and it works really well as well.

I had t used Brylcream since I was a teenager in the eighties . Back then my experience was it made my face spotty and gave me dandruff. I’m fifty now and have basically gone full circle and have the same short back and sides hairstyle . The difference is I now know how to weaponise Brylcream properly and appreciate less is more . In fact both my hair and scalp feel as if they from a smear up . It holds the hair in a way which doesn’t look too contrived in the way gel and wax do and are unflattering for middle aged men. The only downside is it’s not the easiest to wash out and builds up a bit but that’s the trade off .

Best buy using it for years and stick to what I know 10 / 10

Good product

This has been great as trying a new hair style. It’s easy to wash out, it has a light hold. Leaves your hair feeling soft all day light a leave in conditioner. Would recommend.

I assume another new recipe product, not as good as it used to be

Only problem is it's a bit bulky if travelling so a travel tube version would be a useful addition

The classic product, the CLASSIC smell. This is just as good as it ever was. In the biggest container I’ve ever seen for the Bryl, at its lowest price. Can’t go wrong.

Brylcream for this boomer has been the go-to for me since I was 8 years of age because of its signature hold and shine. It started 1928, so it has passed the test of time. I think the smell has been downgraded through the years but I may be wrong on this, or maybe I don't need to use as much as I did when I had more hair

Seit ich diese Creme getestet habe benutze ich nichts anderes mehr. Ist das eigentlich noch eine Frisiercreme oder schon eine Pomade? Genau kann man das nicht sagen. Die Konsistenz ist etwas weicher als Nivea Creme. Massiert man sie ins feuchte Haar und föhnt es dann Form ist der Effekt einfach umwerfend. Die Frisur hält den ganzen Tag (und ich habe sehr dickes widerspenstiges Haar, bei dem jedes Gel bisher versagt hat und nur echt harte Pomade weitergeholfen hat). Man darf nur nicht in den Regen kommen. Aber man kann ja nicht alles haben ;) Das beste daran: Die Creme zieht ein so dass man überhaupt kein Stylingprodukt mehr im Haar erkennen kann. Das Haar glänzt sehr schön und bleibt weich und kämmbar. Außerdem riecht es sehr gut, ohne aufdringlich zu sein. Ohne diesem Zeug gehe ich nicht mehr aus dem Haus :)
