Was macht dann? Man wirft es in die Tonne. Das ist ein teurer Spaß!

... been using Acoustagrip for several years and they absolutely love these. These are absolutely comfortable
My 2 children have been using Acoustagrip for several years and they absolutely love these. These are absolutely comfortable, yet it helps keeping violin very secure. Recently I bought this new one for my daughter since her old one's sponge part was getting little bit squashed for 2 years of usage. She actually really loves this new version better since the sponge part seems a bit more stiffer than the old version and gives her more support. Just bought this new version for my son as well. Highly recommended.

Problematic but has potential
I’ve used several of these pads on my full-size violin by now. It could be just the best shoulder rest for me but it’s plagued by a couple of problems. The worst is the adhesive. There are detailed instructions and cautions with the Acustagrip but I just can’t get it to stick for long. Once it’s on i try to never take it off because I’ve found that the adhesive will be totally worthless. With the last one I had after a few months on my violin it had slipped enough that I was forced to remove it and reposition it. But the adhesive didn’t work at all so it went into the trash. The other problem that drives me crazy is figuring out which one to order. They have cute names for the different sizes but these don’t really tell you anything. What size is a Soloist or Prodigy? One I ordered turned out to be 2” thick and I had to take a bread knife to it. At $50 for the full size pad and having it end up in the trash after a few days, I can’t recommend it to anyone.

A good option
I use these for all of my kids. I like that they don’t damage the finish of the violin. They will eventually lose their grip after time, or if you mess with them too much, but they’ve been a good choice for my family.
