Riedel Nick & Nora Cocktail Glass, Buy 3 Get 4

Very well and carefully packaged by the seller to avoid damage in transit. Good thing, since Amazon basically tossed this box inside a much larger box with virtually no cushion. But my glasses arrived in perfect condition and I love them. While they aren’t an exact replica of the cocktail glasses used in The Thin Man, they are the closest I’ve found in over a decade of searching. These have the correct bell shape but a longer stem and slightly larger capacity bowl, but it’s very, very close to the original and I love them. Also, the glass is not as thin as some reviews have suggested, but seems to be the same thickness as many other cocktail and coupe glasses I have used without incident for years. Just practice some common sense and treat them with care. They are, after all, glass (i.e.: don’t whack them into stuff and they shouldn’t break).

Oh yes! These are so choice. Perfect for a martini, but they class up even a sparkling water with a twist. I use them whenever I can. It really is the little things that make life worth living.These are the same size glasses that Roger from Madmen is always holding. They make 2.5 oz of chilled liquor look larger compared to those fish bowl cosmo/martini glasses all the poor people seem to have.

I love these!! Perfect for Paper Planes, Manhattans, Last Word & many more!! Only deducted a star because they had clearly been used & returned… yep- that’s lipstick on there! I was of course going to clean them before using them regardless of condition. I see many have returned these due to the “small size”… but 4oz is exactly the capacity necessary for many cocktails! Perfect size, balance & weight, great for Manhattan's.

I've seen a few reviewers who are disappointed the Nick and Nora glasses are so "small." Obviously these reviewers have never watched any of "The Thin Man" movies from the 1930s! Nick and Nora drank prodigiously, but the glasses were tiny. We're talking glasses that would have been common (checks notes) 90 years ago!With these glasses your dry Martini can be scaled back to the original size before we all decided to super-size everything. A classic Martini was 2-3 ounces...and these glasses hold 4 ounces (filled to the rim). In contrast, a "modern" martini glass may hold up to 10 ounces! That added capacity often results - particularly for home mixologists who don't have to worry about a profit margin - in a double-martini being considered standard based on glass capacity.These glasses are what they say they are...classic-sized glasses in a size consistent with what Nick and Nora would have used.
