Best poached egg you’ll ever eat….
Best poached egg I’ve ever eaten - I’m 72 years old and made it all by myself. So easy and quick to make in the supplied little poachie pocket (I bought 100), but it took me a couple of times to get it just right for me. I’m an oldie so anyone can do it. It’s just a process like anything else, so read the instructions carefully on the back of the packet, keep it to hand for reference and concentrate on a few important things: 1. The instructions say you need to transfer the pouch/egg quickly into the bubbling boiling water. If you don’t, the egg white starts to leak out the pouch very slowly, but by being quick to get it into the boiling water means you get very little ‘foaming’ in the bubbling water. 2. To do this, I cracked the egg carefully into a small breakfast bowl cos it was easier to then gently pour it into a poachie pocket stood upright in an empty mug. 3. Then, carefully squeeze the top of the pouch together while lifting the poachie/egg upright and then gently immersing it into the boiling water, with the open end at the top and also keep pressing the top carefully together as it goes into the water. 4. To check the egg white is firming up, gently separate the top slowly as it’s in the pan and then pinch back together - every couple of minutes is enough and perhaps more often as it’s nearly cooked. I used very large eggs and I wanted the top part of the egg to be solid and not runny, so for me it’s about 5-6mins. But don’t be put off at all. On my second session I got it just about right and in practice it’s a lot quicker than reading the above and the supplied instructions. After my first trial early evening all I wanted to do was have one of these poachie eggs for breakfast - a slice of toasted seeded bread cut in half for the egg and a small tin of warmed up baked beans for the other half - incredibly yummy, healthy and easy to make.

Cling film is better!
There ok, but clingfilm is better, bought these as thought they would be easier, but you have to put the egg in literally before you put it into the water, otherwise they leak, which is ok if your just doing one egg, but if like me your doing 4 and want to drop them in the water together, by the time you crack the fourth one in you’ve last loads of the egg white from the 1st and 2nd. There fine for emergencies but I wouldn’t recommend or buy again.

Perfect eggs
Perfect Poached Eggs Every Time! I’m so impressed with the Poachies Egg Poaching Bags. They make poaching eggs completely fool-proof – no more messy vinegar water or broken yolks. Just crack your egg into the bag, drop it into boiling water, and in a few minutes you’ve got a perfectly cooked, soft, and runny poached egg. The bags are good quality and large enough (17 x 13.5 cm) to easily hold the egg without splitting. They don’t stick, and the eggs slide out effortlessly with no need for oil. Cleanup is non-existent – you just throw the bag away. Perfect for quick breakfasts, brunches, or when cooking for guests. I’ve had consistent results every time, and with 100 bags in a pack, they’re great value for money. I honestly wish I’d discovered these sooner!

Easier poached eggs
A bit fiddly at first, but after a couple of attempts, I can see the advantages of using Poachies rather than cracking eggs straight into the water. Open up the Poachie at the top (it’s already separated), pop it into a glass/cup and crack in your egg. Quickly lift up the Poachie, holding it together at the top, and lower it into a pan of water. Try to keep the top of the Poachie up against the side of the pan to prevent too much egg white from leaking out. Cook as long as required. I lifted up the Poachie with a slotted spoon so I could check when the egg felt firm enough. Drain on a paper towel, carefully open up the Poachie and then tip out the egg. Overall, less mess and a quicker, easier way to poach multiple eggs at the same time imo. There was a small amount of leakage with medium eggs so I do wonder if Poachies are big enough for large/extra large eggs. The price seems a bit steep, but the pack will last a long time given how infrequently I have poached eggs.

Poachies funktionieren einwandfrei! Anfangs war ich skeptisch, habe heute morgen sofort Poachies probiert. Was soll ich sagen?
