mine only turns red is that supposed to happen?

It's suppose to change colours. But it depends some lamps are only blue, only pink, clear such as warm white or white. The crystal like base will tell you what colours are suppose to light the fibres on the ends. Hope this helps xx

Are batteries easily removed or do you need screwdriver... For child who bangs things so need them secure

There is a small screw underneath but probably wouldnt recommend to a child who bangs things as may easily break, it is a really lovely product.

How many colours does it change into

Think it's 5 or 6 and battery lasts a few days so not changing it all the time
