Excellent bridge to hernia surgery.
This belt did the trick for me and allowed me to move much more normally in advance of surgery, including some lifting of furniture for moving.. I’ve got an inguinal hernia. For me I found the best fit was to wear synthetic boxer briefs or trunks under the belt, and under loose fitting clothing. Cotton underwear led to a bt of chafing, and by not wearing it against the skin I could get more time between cleanings. I didn’t love the thong feeling and was able to reposition the lower strap so that it run across my buttocks. It takes a few days to get used to it but definitely improves life with the hernia. I’m a 33” waist and the medium fit fine.s.

Works Well At A Reasonable Price
I have a rather large inguinal hernia and have surgery scheduled. I needed a hernia belt to keep it from becoming incarcerated while I wait. The belt is well made and works to keep the bulge to a minimum. I found that wearing the belt against my skin created irritations. After some experimentation I found that wearing the belt over my shirt worked best. It’s a little tricky to get right but once tightened the belt stays in place and the irritation is gone. While the belt is washable it must be washed by hand and air dried. Overall, I believe it’s a quality product for its purpose. As for “comfort” I have gotten used to it and the bulge in my pants. I found the best positioning for the belt to be effective and not irritating for me. Actually, there are time when I forget that I’m wearing it. I am using the L/XL version and have lots of extra belt. The Velcro grips very well. My best advice is experiment with it to find the best position that is both effective and comfortable. It’s been a 5 star experience for me as a first time user.

Hilarious Hernia
The package was open and the belt was used, so I am using a belt that rubbed up against someone else’s crotch. Besides this nice inconvenience, the belt is great for temporary relief of symptoms for an inguinal hernia, whether on your left or right. It has a detachable thick compression pad and a built-in memory foam pad. And it has non-slip strips, so it won’t take your pants down and you won’t look like a gangster that sags. There are two adjustable straps, one for the groin and one for the waist, and the belt will fit most body sizes. If you are morbidly obese, it probably won’t work. I suggest wearing this from the time you are diagnosed by a medical professional to the time of surgery. This provides temporary relief; it is not a permanent solution like surgery. You will probably have to urinate more because of the pressure this belt applies to your bladder. And, if you use the thick pad, you will appear as though you have an erection. The ladies will love it!

Fits well and does it's job.
It took a bit (a week or so) to really 'get the feel' for this. It seems to do a good job though, when I take it off 'everything's where I left it.' I wore this to Josha Tree and hiked for miles without any real issues. It takes a bit to get used to the strap and tension but it's better than the feeling without it. I did go in and had my doctor review it, and he feels comfortable using this on an ongoing basis to manage the hernia without any stated limitations. I'll just check with him annually unless something changes. I use the smaller pad, and it took a bit of feeling around to find the right spot for it to press that didn't get in the way of sitting down (for example). The lower belt that holds the pad firm to your abdomen slides along the back, loops around the front, then pulls back and fastens to itself. Its a decent design, don't get it too tight or it binds. You need it tight enough to keep the bottom pulled back. Obviously, lay on your back and fit it when everything's 'flat' so you're not mashing anything. It should feel 'right' but by all means get a professional opinion if you need one (or your insurance covers it). It took me 4 weeks to see my primary care physician so this definitely helped get me by until I got his official approval. The waist band is very sturdy, my wife commented on how nice and strong it was, it's (as shown in the picture) several inches and fully velcro on the fastening side with a rubbery inner side that sort of grabs what you're wearing. The picture also shows that having underpants with a little leg helps keep the strap off your skin and does seem to make it wear a bit more comfortably.

Well made and reasonably priced
This is a well-made, effective, and very reasonably priced hernia support belt. I wore it while I had a hernia and after having an operation to repair the hernia. It was and still is very beneficial. Some have complained about getting the proper fitting. Here is how I did it. First sit on a chair and pull the strap up to about mid thigh level, and then close both velcro straps loosely. Then stand up and adjust the belt so it fits. Finally adjust the strap that goes from the belt around your buttocks and back to the belt. It will all be a little loose on you, so sit down again and adjust the velcro some so it is tighter, and try again. A couple iterations should do it. When you want to remove the support, just pull it down like you take off your underwear. Don't open the straps. When you want to wear it again, just pull it on like you do your underwear or pants. You are ready to go. I wear the support over boxer briefs and experience no chafing. This is a very good product in my opinion.

operates well
OK, but the belt is difficult to connect. Possibly I ordered a unit that is too big. the thin velcro strap that goes between your leg always gets tangled with the belt as you put it on with the velcro getting tangled to the belt.

Worth its weight in gold!!!
The support belt is awesome. I was really hurting towards the end of the day when I was active before the support belt. Now very little pain with it. Worth its weight in gold. End up buying two more Like another reviewer said wear long synthetic boxer briefs under neath the belt they bunch up less and way more comfortable then cotton briefs

Well made, easy to use, and fairly priced. Recommended.
My hernia came on as a surprise, about 4 weeks after experiencing some pain after exercise. Eventually, a swelling appeared, accompanied with some 'pinching' pain, and my doctor diagnosed it as a hernia, which had not broken through as yet. The treatment was to wait until it appeared. I already had experienced a hernia on my left side, and fixed in 2009, so I knew the drill. I ordered the AbdomenCare belt based on the reviews. It works well for me, and I wear it comfortably all day. I appreciate the advice given by reviewers about fitting the belt while lying down. This method worked well for me. I hardly notice the belt as I go through my day, as it sits below my waistline, and once in place, causes me no discomfort. It also does not interfere with 'bathroom breaks', and can be removed and reinstalled quickly, and more easily with practice. The wide belt fits easily, and is soon forgotten, once on. It is well made, very adjustable, and I will be ordering a second belt since this wait could be long, and I like always having a clean belt available. This AbdomenCare Support Belt is well made, easy to use, and fairly priced. It works well for me, and I recommend it.

Comfortable
It is very comfortable to wear and keeps my husband's hernia in place. This is the reason I bought it for him. He is waiting for an operation so until then this will help him work as near normal as possible.

Perfect for my father. The material is very good, and the design is excellent. I also like that it comes with two different pad sizes. I highly recommend it

Good belt & well made.
Solid belt. It is seriously well made… so much so, that my mom has a hard time undoing the Velcro. Haha It is holding up well, for daily use. She is a size small, and the belt could be smaller for her. It overlaps on the Velcro, so it’s thick around her waist when she tries to put her jeans on. It adds another inch of thickness. It’s doing its job!
