Celestron 71332 Nature DX 8x42mm Binoculars with Multi-Coated Lens, BaK-4 Prism Glass and Carry Case, Green

After reading some of the reviews, I was like I have to buy this pair and review it. Read the entire review before watching the video. The footage trough a phone never do the optics justice especially in a very cloudy day.A bit of background, I am an optics freak who tested and owned more than twenty pairs of binoculars, to name some of the brands Bushnell, Vortex, Nikon, Minox and Steiner all ranging from £300 to about £500Here is what I look for in a pair of binoculars to pass my test for birding purpose.Good FOVReasonable edge to edge sharpnessNeutral colour renditionGood Eye reliefSharpness in the centre and well controlled chromatic aberration.Absence of lens flare, reflection and ghostingGood barrels alignmentGood ergonomicNow testing binoculars under different light conditions will ultimately provide an overall score of the image quality but for this review my test was under a bright sunny and slightly hazy spring day.First time handling the Celestron, it was nice surprise, they felt compact and rather easy to handle with one hand. I do like the design and the green rubber armour. Looking through them was a breeze, eye relief was excellent and alignement or the barrels is spot on. There was no overlapping or the need to readjust my eyes. The view is totally relaxed, immersive and almost with a 3D feel that you get in Porro prism. So far two major areas passed with flying colours. At this point I am slightly annoyed since my benchmark binocular that cost 3 times the price has one issue and that is having to readjust my eye positioning. Let’s moving on! Image quality is where I am very demanding, the first thing I noticed colour pallet packs a punch, leaning toward warmth which surprisingly I found it to be rather nice to have popping colours coming from my neutral benchmark binocular. Sharpness test, a binocular is worth nothing if it cannot precisely focus to pick out details. Well, let me tell you this pair is a bad boy when it comes to center image sharpness, I was actually picking out fine details on leaves about 20 meters away, quite simply gob smacking at this price point. The field of view was decent and never felt narrow, it’s not a 8° + but better than some 8x42 double the price. The sharpness across the FOV start to soften from about 75% from the centre, this acceptable at this price point and who cares really since most people would be glassing in the centre of the image!CA is well controlled with a small hint in the centre but overall really well suppressed.In my test there was no flaring and straight light from the sun was nicely controlled. This is an area where most entry level binoculars fails miserably and makes the binocular almost unusable.The only thing that was clearly apparent between the Celestron and my 8x42 Opticron Natura ED is the brightness of the image. The Celestron has really punchy colours but lacked the luminosity that my Opticron provides. Despite the Celestron had a less brightness the image remained vibrant and I could still make out the same details. I would still consider it just because how well it executes other areas like the immersive view and sharpness. My Opticron delivers outstanding light transmission & colour fidelity that matches the Zeiss conquest HD. If you have a budget of £100 go with Celestron and you would be very happy but if you want top quality glass without breaking the bank, I suggest you take a look through Opticron.If you have nothing to compare the Celestron to ie a £600 pair of binocular these would surprise you by their sharpness and lovely vibrant colours.Btw I test binoculars side by side before purchasing and I when purchased my Natura ED I put it up against Vanguard Ed II, Nikon HG and Zeiss Terra ED

The 5 stars is based on quality/price ratio. At £90 these are never going to be the best binoculars out there, they are very much budget end bins. I bought these for use by my wife mainly for use on safari. We went for the 8x42 as I felt anything with more magnification would require more stamina to hold steady. Also the 8x42 had a longer eye relief which is important as she wears glasses. I had also read that they fold close together so would be ideal for her small head - they do indeed fold close enough for her - and would also be suitable for many children. She thought they looked big but I think they are quite compact and light for an 8x42.The build quality looks solid enough. The case and strap are not the best but the binoculars themselves (the important bit) looks good. The image is bright and easy to focus. My eyesight isn't great but to my eyes the image was reasonably sharp to the edges. There was minimal chromatic aberrations. Overall the image was very acceptable for cheap binoculars. There is a mount point for an adaptor for use with a tripod or monopod. I can't see us using a tripod with them but I think she may benefit using a monopod if she has to hold them for a long time. I already have a monopod so we will dive that a go.I have no idea how well they will stand up over time? Due to my very poor eyesight in one eye I tend to use a monocular but I might borrow these for a bit of birding from time to time.Overall I think these are good value for money at £90. I am not convinced I would pick these if they were at their highest price of £160 as there might be a better option at that price point.

Ordered these binoculars based on the reviews and price point, but first experience was disappointing. The pair received was clearly a previously returned item, as the packaging was not properly sealed, accessories missing and the left lens had a defect that made them unusable. It was frustrating to receive a defective product, that had obviously been returned before and not checked before being resold. Even more so as it was a gift.We decided to give it another try. The replacement pair arrived quickly, and this time it was a brand-new item. What a difference! The optics are clear and sharp, and the binoculars feel sturdy and well-built. For the price, they perform pretty well.While the product itself is good, I’d caution buyers to inspect their order immediately upon arrival to ensure they have received a new, working pair. Once you get a good set, these binoculars are good value.Rating: 4/5 (deducted a star for the initial hassle).

12month review - Bought these for my young son as his first pair of decent quality binoculars. HIGHLY RECOMMENDEDSHORT SUMMARY - seriously, just buy them, used these for a year and they are super. These are lightweight, really good quality optical images with very adaptable use cases from bird watching to astronomy. My sons has a very high opinion of these binoculars. He loves them. Obviously, at night I use them without glasses and the eye relief is easy to change between them with 3 firm twist positionsLight weight - easy to handle for long periods of time with no shake from heart beat, at about 600g perfect weight to take on a hike.Comfort of Use, nice position of indents in the bridge moulding and not at all slippery. Feel really nice to holdFocusing - the focus movement is easy to move and fast to adjustCovers, easy to use, offer good protection. As an amateur birdwatcher I can't recommend these highly enough. They're very well constructed and provide a great image, even at the highest magnification. They are very easy to use and are neither too heavy or too light. A professional birdwatcher would want better, but I don't need (or can afford) the Leica or Swarovski equivalents.

Amazing, reliable Binoculars, easy to set up and use, and are easy to hold steadily to observe whatever it is you're using them for. After receiving my 8x42 magnification and experiencing how good they were, I went on to buy a second pair of 12x56mm binoculars from them, which are also amazing. Recommend the brand for sure! Just be cautious about buying higher magnification, like the 12x56mm and above; they're a lot harder to hold steady, so make sure to check if you need a binocular bipod. But the 8x42mm are a great pair to begin with if you're new to using binoculars! They also come with a nice bag to sdtore and carry them in.

I bought these binoculars as a replacement for a pair of cheap non-brand binoculars that went out of collimation after a year of almost constant use. I went for these binoculars as they were highly recommended for birding and so far they haven't disappointed. With the previous cheap pair of binoculars, ID'ing birds in low light was very difficult, often the colour and fine detail couldn't be seen. In comparison to the previous pair, the Celestron's at a mere £35 increase in price are magnificent. They're comfortable to hold, they produce sharp, bright and clear images with very little chromatic aberration, the wide field of view makes objects much easier to find. The rain guard and the objective covers stay on with a nice squish. I've also used them for a bit of back garden astronomy and plane spotting, they do fine for both subjects but an 8x42 isn't the best type of binocular for that but still very useable. I've had them mounted on a tripod and the extra stability improved the image quality even further.Like with anything in life they do have some minuses. The neck strap is poor quality, despite being nitrogen filled they do fog in minus temperatures, the image isn't sharp at the edges. But all-in-all I'm very happy with these binoculars.

E' il quarto binocolo nella mia carriera di osservazione naturalistica, è il primo a tetto e rispetto ai miei precedenti a porro direi sicuramente il migliore. Pur non essendo di un livello superiore come i più blasonati, da un'idea di compattezza e maneggiabilità molto gradevoli. Compatto, luminoso nitido e preciso, non stanca la vista, si ha la sensazione di utilizzare un binocolo di qualità professionale, ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo.

Je voulais des jumelles pour observer les oiseaux et j'ai essayé chez mon opticien des Bushnell 8x25 et 8x32, ça n'allait pas du tout : image floue et terne, obligation de s'approcher pour voir quelque chose, ce qui faisait fuir les oiseaux.Ces jumelles-ci n'ont absolument rien à voir, c'est le cas de le dire !- Avec un diamètre de 42 mm, l'image est LUMINEUSE, on voit parfaitement les couleurs.- Le grossissement (pourtant identique aux autres) convient très bien à mon utilisation.- Il y a un "dioptre", une molette sur la moitié droite des jumelles qui permet de compenser la différence de vue entre les 2 yeux. C'est INDISPENSABLE, sinon on n'arrive pas à voir la totalité de l'image avec la même netteté partout.- Il y a une molette de "netteté" (focus) qui permet de faire la mise au point à une distance précise, exactement comme sur un appareil photo. Ça aussi, c'est INDISPENSABLE.- Comme on peut les régler correctement grâce à ces 2 molettes, on se rend vite compte que l'optique est d'excellente qualité.- Elles sont étanches et fournies avec des capuchons de protection en caoutchouc. Vu le climat du nord-est de la France, ça permet de s'en servir toute l'année.Voilà très concrètement pourquoi je les trouve parfaites pour moi.En outre, vu la modique différence de prix avec des modèles de bas de gamme (qui sont quand même aux environs de 100€), il n'y a absolument aucune raison de se priver de celles-ci.A toutes fins utiles : ce vendeur utilise la référence produit Celestron (71332), mais la désignation complète de ce modèle est bien "Celestron NATURE DX 8x42", donc le même que celui qu'on trouve plus cher chez d'autres vendeurs. ;)

Image is clear and magnification is perfect for beginner like me without spending too much. Downside would be that it does not have the best design when handling the binoculars for a longer period of time but it is still comfortable enough to not be a major issue. It is not unexpected at the price that I got it for that the included strap is quite bad as well.

Hallo liebe Gemeinde,ich möchte auch meinen Senf zu dem Celestron Nature DX 8x42 abgeben.+ Das Gehäuse macht keinen billigen Eindruck, und die Armierung hat einen guten Griff ohne zu kleben.+ Die Abbildung ist für den Preis sehr solide!+ Die Schärfe ist sehr gut. Chromatische Aberrationen sind vorhanden, fallen aber im Vergleich zu manchen Ferngläsern mit ED sehr dezent aus.- Die Inbetriebnahme ist ein wenig kompliziert, bis man die Pupillendistanz ohne Blackouts gefunden hat.- An die Transmission von Ferngläsern mit ED kommt es nicht ran. In der Dämmerung ist dann auch schneller Schluss mit lustig.- Das Fokussierrad im Mitteltrieb ist einen Tick zu schwergängig - das könnte leichter gehen.Fazit: das Celestron Nature DX ist ein solides Fernglas für den Einsteiger. Bei der Beobachtung am Tag produziert es ein kontrastreiches Bild mit einer guten Schärfe. Farblich würde ich als neutral einordnen. In der Dämmerung verlieren sich die Details und die Restlichaufhellung zu Gläsern mit einer höheren Transmission. 5 Sterne von mir für das ausgezeichnete Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis!Viele Grüße!Karl Vogel
