Renovo RFC1126 International Fabric Soft Top Cleaner 500 ml, Neutral

Used this on my BMW 330 CI 2004 vert. The soft top is in relatively good condition already but decided to give it the full treatment - see my other reviews for the Renovo colour rejuvenator (dark blue) And Renovo water proofing products. I used this soft top cleaner to prepare for the others and I like to stick to one manufacturer if possible - synergy an all that. Amazing results with this cleaner. It is the only one I have used but I will not be going anywhere else. The hood was damp when I started which saved me dampening it down. Used a new 2 " brush and worked in the cleaning solution in sections across the roof. There was a little bit of lathering but nothing to really to mention (even though I have!?), but that is normal. Left it to soak in for an hour, the instructions advise 20 minutes but the Renovo video on YouTube mentioned an hour. As long as you don't let it dry out as assume it just eats into the grime better. Anywho, filled up a bucket with hot/warm water and commenced gently scrubbing with a brush I picked up for 99p from..... The 99p shop! The brush was nylon not soft but not hard either. I adjusted the pressure on the brush so it was activating the cleaner but hurting the fabric. The top came up in a lovely lather, bringing out the dirt, green algae (that I did not even notice!) and 'stuff' that had built up in the fabric. I paid particular attention to the joints when applying the cleaner and whilst lathering. I continued to throughly wash off the dirt and residue after I'd finished the entire roof with clean water from a hose. It sounds obvious but don't use the same water you've been dipping your brush in previously. The results were great the top looked so clean I even considered not using the dye on the next stage (I'm glad I did though - see review). Overall brilliant product! Thanks!!

Fantastic results in just a few hours. We had neglected the roof of our mini for a few years other than to give it a spray with water when washing the car. So the roof was very green and definitely not looking it's best. I saw someone recommended this product, and it inspired me to get to work on making our soft top look good again in time for spring and summer. This works like magic. Paint it on, leave for an hour (due to how bad our roof was) and then give it a scrub with a brush and rinse off. It was looking so much better after just one treatment but I have to admit the the results pictured were after three goes. However the last two I only gave it 10 minutes each to work before brushing. I used pretty much the whole bottle. Rinsing until no more foam appeared took me a while though. But the end result is fantastic. I definitely recommend this product

Really good but need to use more than once for good result

First time using Renovo after using (auto****) and (Mgwrs) before and this is by far the best. How I used it. Hosed the roof down then applied Renovo with a brush, It spreads out quite a lot but I didn't skimp and still put plenty on. Left product on for about half a hour then filled my garden pressure pump with hot water and spraying in sections using roof bars as a guide I got to work with a soft Drill Brush attachment on my cordless drill. It lathered up well and could see it changing colour as it lifted the dirt. When the whole roof was done I sprayed the roof down again and went back over with drill brush bringing all the lather back to the surface again then left again for about half hour before rinsing the roof off. It took some rinsing off as it just seemed to continuously rinse sudds from one side of the car to the other and must of took over half hour to get it to run clear. The difference is unbelievable even though my roof looked quite good anyway. Just need to waterproof it now and it will be like new. I highly recommend Renovo over the other leading brands that I have used in the past as there is not a trace of green algae that was deeply engrained in the roof fibres which the other brands did leave behind. The other good thing is I've probably only used a third of the 500ml bottle so have plenty left for future use. I'm more than happy with this product and you will be too.

Great stuff. Completely cleaned the green stuff off my Series 1 Landy canvas.

I bought this product to be used in conjunction with the Renovo Ultra Proofer, as most customers would. I have applied this Canvas Cleaner product to the roofs of both a 2001 Vauxhall VX220 and a 2004 VW Beetle Convertible, but wasn't really impressed by it's ability to draw out dirt, green moss stains etc from the roofs. These particular roofs were not heavy soiled or damaged, but I wanted them looking thier best, before I applied the Ultra Proofer. I do wonder whether simply a traditional house mild detergent would be just as effective as this product (along with arag or soft brostle brush) at attempting to remove dirt from canvas roofs, as despite me following Renovo's instructions 'to the letter', there was hardly a transformation in the appearance of the canvas! The Renovo Ultra Proofer on the other hand I was pleased with. Follow the instructions and it will work very nicely. With regard to the Canvas Cleaner, I'll probably opt for Autogylm's alternative next time, as I've read some strong reviews about that. Hope this helps.

12 year old mini cabriolet. Green algae and some areas of 'rot' from bird poop. (See pics). Product is very effective if you work it: I waited for a dry sunny day but not too hot. Car in the shade. Washed it prior day. Ahead of application light water spray. Roof has lost waterproofing so soaks in and stays damp. Painted cleaner on with a 2" brush in even stokes middle to outside. Then sides. Waited an hour for it to work....need that to kill the algae. After an hour worked it a section at a time with a stiff brush. Foams up and green slimey emerged. Flushed it away a section at a time to ensure it didn't soak back in. Took a good two hours. Used 3/4 of the tin on the roof. I then used Renovo renovate and then Fabsil waterproofer. Last pic shows end result. Very impressed as this is the first cleaner that has lifted the algae out.

I have a 14 year old BMW E46 convertible. I never did anything special to the roof before and it started to look a bit tired and grey. So July 2014 I bought 500ml each of this Cleaner, the black Reviver and the Ultra Proofer. The cleaner certainly took off more dirt than normal cleaning, although having paid a lot for the stuff I was probably trying harder too. The dye made it look very nice and black while the proofer made the canvas repel water like it were metal. The one thing it will not do is completely even out the crease marks and shiny bits where the roof rubs when folded. I am guessing nothing will do that. All in all a good buy. I will probably do it once a year from now on.
