Very playable.
Very playable at a sensible room volume. I had no problem with tuning it, just slide the drones up and down and also move your chanter reed in/out to adjust the intonation, just like with regular pipes. The comparatively low bag pressure required took me a few minutes to adjust to, then I was able to go through a 10 minute set while keeping an eye on (ear on?) my bag pressure. So just what I was looking for.

Valve blown after 3 months
Worked well with light playing for the first 3 months, but now the one-way valve on the blow stick has gone, so impossible to keep air in the bag. :( Disappointed.Update 11.3.2018 I decided to try open the bag, and found i could get into the main bag via a rubber cap, and was then able to fish around near the chanter entrance and found the missing one-way valve from the blow stick. I then was able to unplug the blowstick, and seat the rubber one-way valve back into the base (with a dab some superglue to dissuade it from falling out again), bringing it back to working order :)Back to practicing now, hope this helps anyone that may have a similar problem.

Practice pipes
Pretty good, don't like it being in key of 'C' though instead of 'A' but hey good product for money

All in all I'm well pleased.
Arrived unbelievably quickly. Came with a case too. I don't think the case is particularly soldier proof but it works and don't be rough with it. The pipes were up and running in a couple of minutes. The tuning has to be worked on but then I've seen lots of top pipers with tape all over there chanters. Think of "The Well Tempered Klavier. " all musical instruments need adjusting for intonation. All in all I'm well pleased.

A Clumsy Lover..(pipers will understand!)
I'm the proud owner of two sets of these - the smaller 'D' pipes, which I believe this set is,and the lower 'A' set with plastic rather than brass drones. I've owned both for around 10 years,I purchased them from Bagpipes Galore when they had the little shop on the Royal Mile in Edinburgh. Like all pipes, they need to be reeded and set up for each individual, but with all the reeds being plastic it's a very simple task. Once set up,they never vary, and will give literally YEARS of fantastic service without needing to be touched, unless the owner suffers from the very common 'must muck about with it' disease. The 'D' she'd has the exact same fingering and roughly the same volume as a common or garden practice chanter. The 'A' set is the same finger spacing to within a few thou of the great highland pipe, and is an easy transition for any piper. They're also much louder and fit in perfectly at your average session without amplification, but are still quiet enough to be enjoyed at home without scaring the dogs or irritating the wife. All in all,I would recommend these pipes as probably the most fun I've had, fully dressed,in a very long time. I'd have absolutely NO hesitation in recommending them to any piper of any standard as a whole new aspect of playing that I personally find delightful. I prefer the 'A' set for their volume, versatility, and just general 'feel',but the 'D's are just as much fun. You NEED these pipes!
