Lantana Can Opener (Smooth Edge), Manual Safety Tin Opener, Black

I go through can openers like Sunday dinners, been on the hunt for a robust one for some time so decided to take the plunge and cough up a bit more dough and invest in this model! Glad I did, this thing is the Ferrari of can openers. Superb build quality, you can tell straight out the box its gonna have a long shelf life! To be honest though, it is a bit fiddley to get going, you have to position the head at the correct angle, do a quarter back turn of the handle and then start turning. Sometimes it bites out the gate, sometimes can take a few attempts to get going, however, once you have momentum, its a breeze to open cans. The big advantage is, once the lid comes off there are no sharp edges....not sure how that works, must be some kind of voodoo magic but I've tried rubbing the edge of the lid on my skin (please don't replicate, I'm a trained professional nutcase) and its as smooth as butter Highly recommend, go purchase one now and add it to your arsenal of kitchen equipment

Absolutely BRILLIANT! I've just taken two tin openers to the tip recently and returned one . None of them could open a tin of blackcurrants and we had blackcurrant juice all over the kitchen and were left with a dangerous jagged tin. Received this tin opener yesterday and used it today for the first time on a tin of blackcurrants. WOW ! This tin opener is quite honestly amazing and a complete game changer. It opened the tin easily with no fuss and no effort and left no sharp edges etc. I will never use any other tin opener again. Buy it and save yourself soooo much grief and mess. I wanted to give this review after using this can opener. I have recently had an injury on my left hand/thumb that causes severe pain when holding/gripping things. I was struggling to open cans using traditional/standard can openers you get from supermarkets. I looked around and came across this one. I am so happy to have purchased it as this not only opens cans with ease but it also makes them safe to handle when opened. There are no sharp/jagged edges. The lid is also easily placed back on the tin to allow for you to store the tin in the fridge (if you need to). The opener has a good sturdy grip and I am hopeful this can opener lasts a while and I am definitely convinced to using these than any others. This is great for elderly people who have trouble gripping. I will be purchasing more to give as presents to family members.

At last! A can opener that does what it says on the tin! I have bought many can openers over the years; some better than others but none as good as this. I read all the reviews and decided to give it a go as my existing opener just didn't cut the mustard. You can use it to break the seal on screw top jars too. Very pleased.

Best can opener I’ve ever owned. Smooths off the edges of the can and lid so no nasty cuts. Takes whole lid off. Not dishwasher safe, just needs a wash in soapy water which will probably keep it sharp for longer. Have been using for 4 months now with no issues. 👌🏼

Vraiment à la hauteur de la description. J'avais un vieux ouvre-boite qui a duré longtemps tout de même. Mais il tournait dans le vide. Là, le Lantana est vraiment parfait, pas de rebord coupant. Il faut prendre le coup de main, mais ça vaut tous les autres. Bon achat !

It is because of this that I will never buy a can opener from Wal-Mart again. This will cut the bead on the outside of the can, eliminating the sharp edges of conventional openers we have all come to know and detest. After the can is opened, the lid can also be used to cover the contents simply by placing it back on top. It won't be sealed, but perhaps will still be good tomorrow. Works equally well for large or small cans, so even for family-sized portions it is safe to use. I have friends that use this for pet food, saving half of the contents for use later. Very simple and easy to use. The safety of the "no sharp edges'" design makes this a must-have for any kitchen, especially for little hands. Don't settle for anything less when something like this is better in every way.
