Revell 03602 Star Wars Darth Vader's TIE Fighter 1:121 Scale - Unbuilt/Unpainted Plastic Model Kit

THIS IS A SMALL SCALE KIT, DOES NOT COME WITH GLUE and PAINTS !!!! Lets get that out of the way for those who may expect something else and then rate it 1 star for their own ignorance. I got this as a star wars fan, these kits came as a great price for a little piece of merchandise. This is a great little kit, with good detailing and the parts fit perfectly. Decals are supplied for every part of the model that is not the base colour, (red stripes, yellow stirpes, the grey canopy, even the blue markings of R2D2) so it's a real easy build. Came with fancy colour instructions and the sprue trees in the box were sealed in a plastic bag. All in all a fun build, good representation of the X-Wing fighter albeit small but well detailed. So much so in fact I bought another one when it went down in price as an Addon item so I can make Wedge Antilles X-Wing to go with Lukes, and have subsequently bought also from the same series the Millenium Falcon, the Tie Interceptor and Snowspeeder.

Bought as a proxy for x-wing miniatures game by ffg. For this purpose it is pretty damn good. It works out a bit smaller than the FFG one but does not look out of place next to the fighter-class minis. This is a supremely easy model kit for anyone who has minimal modelling experience, but minimal paint and glue skills are required. Also be careful with the clear plastic parts, my engine cover Was mishapen and broke while trying to modify it. The scale is not proportional to the x-wing minis falcon - the x wing falcon is supposedly 1/270th, and this works out much smaller. However it doesn't look too weird. I've ordered two more so I can make a proper custom freighter. Ignore my crappy paintwork, I'm going for a black/yellow squadron.

I’d recommend to anyone looking for something to do on a rainy Sunday afternoon. The set doesn’t come with paints or glue, so make sure you order those too. The set looks good with some of the simile size sets. Really good set for beginners too. It wasn’t first time building and I found it really fun, and very simple as an introduction into model making.

Great Star Wars kit for beginners of model making. Not many parts & a nice introduction into gluing , painting & decal work. Very easy to follow instructions. Does not come with paints/glues (as expected with most kits) so if you want to paint, ensure you buy with or have it already.

Tatty box - makes me question how old it is!

Just felt I had to counter some of the negative reviews on this. On the image of the box, it clearly states that this model is 1/112 scale. It also even states the dimensions of the finished model in mm... If people want a finished model that will be bigger, they should go for a smaller scale rating such as 1/72 or 1/35 but you will not find those at this price range. These kits are great for the money, the enjoyment of building, painting and the satisfaction when what you have when finished can be enjoyed and displayed. I use mine for dioramas and have even customised models like the tie fighter with LEDs and battle damage.

Great quality product very good to build as well. It’s very easy to build very nice and easy instructions to follow.

Five stars, as for what you pay - £6 or so - you really can't fault the kit. It's small, about 5 inches long, but nicely detailed. Assembly is very straightforward and takes about 20 minutes. The instructions are clearly laid out in colour on nice big sheets. One thing that the box doesn't mention but the instructions do is that you are recommended to put a small weight (20g or so) in the back of the kit, otherwise it barely balances on the stand that is provided.

I wrote a poor review for the item. I change my mind after talking to my son who found the decals. The nine year old grandson had opened the package and he did not put the decals back in the box. I apologize to Amazon and Revell. The model rates. 5 and we all learned a lesson!

Nach Jahrzehnten wollte ich endlich mal wieder etwas Zeit mit Modellbau verbringen und habe mich dabei für das Star-Wars-Franchise aus meiner Kindheit entschieden. Der Revell Millennium Falcon im Maßstab 1:241 ist wirklich sehr detailreich und für mich von der Größe her genau richtig – ich wollte bewusst kein allzu großes Modell haben. In echt wirkt der Falcon deutlich plastischer als auf den Produktfotos. Ursprünglich hatte ich geplant, das Modell später noch mit dem Pinsel farblich zu gestalten, allerdings konnte ich mich bisher nicht dazu durchringen, dafür noch weitere Farben anzuschaffen. Auch ohne Bemalung macht das Modell optisch richtig was her und verschönert nun mein Büro. Der beiliegende Ständer (übrigens grau und nicht schwarz, wie die Bilder vermuten lassen) ist ebenfalls hochwertig und sorgt für einen schönen Präsentationseffekt. Der Aufbau ging schnell – nach wenigen Stunden war alles fertig – und hat richtig viel Spaß gemacht. Fazit: Ein toller Bausatz für alle, die wieder in den Modellbau einsteigen oder einfach ein schönes Erinnerungsstück aus ihrer Kindheit basteln möchten!
