Sennheiser HD 569 In-Ear Headphones with Closed Back, Black

I really like these head phones they replace some 20 year old Sennheiser's and for a rare occasion I notice a more than marginal improvement in sound quality. The 'phones are well built ,strong and comfortable and don't get too hot. They exclude sound from the outside just as well as sound going out. They seem to have a flat response across the frequency range and a very good dynamic range just right for orchestral works. The bass is not exaggerated which I don't like anyway. i tested them on digital music files of jazz, acoustic folk, rock and classical music. I also tested music from YouTube and voice from the BBC: they performed very well. I compared a completely analogue(vinyl)recording against a so called" HIRES" digital equivalent to see if I could tell the difference. Th recording in question was a from " Chasing The Dragon" records where a vinyl record is rehearsed and performed live and mixed and cut directly to vinyl; no tape recorders involved. At the same time a 24/192 recording is made digitally. The work in question was Espana with two operatic arias from Bizets " Carmen" and two orchestral works from Chabrier and Rimsky Korsakov respectively. Rosie Middleton's rich and wonderful voice was reproduced almost perfectly on both the analogue and digital recordings. The orchestral works work were reproduced with wide dynamic range and the orchestra sounded just like an orchestra. Headphones reveal more detail then speakers and it proves to me once and for all that digital recordings are better for sound quality than their equivalent vinyl ones. But if you ignore the inevitable surface noise of an LP the analogue versions come very close to digital. When you consider that LPs were invented in 1948 it shows how far we have come regarding sound quality, which is what really matters. Whatever, the medium these 'phones make a very good account of themselves and the music and I recommend them thoroughly. Pity no case was supplied but what can you expect for a hundred quid or so. It's the sound quality that really matters.

I wanted a pair of over ear, closed back, not-noise-cancelling, wired headphones that didn't break the bank, and had been looking for ages. I was a bit reluctant to bite the bullet on these because they'd be replacing a pair of Sennheiser Momentum 2 which are, obviously, in a different league when it comes to build quality. (I'd bought the M2s second hand, would never have spent as much as they cost new.) These are excellent at the price, in my opinion. The sound is really good (bearing in mind I am no audiophile) and although the 'phones are heavy compared to the M2s , you don't notice when they're on. The padding under the headband and the ear pads themselves are made from velour, so very comfortable, and the era pads are larger than the M2 over-ear ones. My husband, who also has M2s - which he has never complained about - tried to persuade me to swap with him as he liked these so much! So all in all, I'm very pleased. The sound is at least as good as others I've tried in the round-about-£100-range; the build quality's good, and they're comfortable.

I decided to get these after reading several other very detailed reviews here. I can confirm what others have said that they are not too bass-heavy, which is fine for me but other customers may want to bear this in mind. The bass is still markedly stronger than my previous headphones whilst the treble is clear and not tinny-sounding. Perfectly balanced, as all things should be. It's also true that they do grip your head quite tightly and may take some getting used to but they are plenty adjustable. Personally I find them very comfortable. The ear pads are really nice and velvety; they do get warm as others have mentioned but I don't have a problem with this and find it adds to the comfort. It's still winter, maybe come summer I'll have a different view, lol. I would say the regular 1.2m cable is a little short and because of the inline mic it may not be compatible with some TVs. I found this with mine; I have to pull the headphone jack very slightly out of the TV otherwise they don't sound right and sound continues to come out of my TV. It's annoying but workable and I believe there are alternative cables out there one can buy. Overall the sound is really excellent and I love the sturdy design and the whole look of them. I'd certainly recommend them to anyone who wants a solid, more than decent pair of headphones for all purposes without having to break the bank.

No complaints at all, a well designed piece of equipment, feels nice to wear - sounds nice

As a late night TV watcher and music listener, headphones are essential in my house. But headphones are something you cannot skimp on if you want great sound My tastes range from Tchaikovsky to Ozzie, acoustic folk to 70s clubbing. These Sennheiser HD 569 are ideal for my purposes. Some people have commented on the bass being lacking? Well, I experience no problems at all. I suggest you control the bass yourselves by purchasing a good amplifier with both bass & treble control. The last thing I want is that tiresome "booming" sound one gets with some models. Especially with closed-back earphones. Sennheiser HD 569 serves my listening needs perfectly.

For the price these headphones are fine and the build quality it ok but, they feel abit plastically. The foam pads feel abit rubbery and have a smell like rubber when new, which is my main issue with them. The bass is great when you hear it but is weak mostly. They are comfortable for long listening and do block out some background sound. For me the weight is average and design is good especially resting your head against something as the outer case is relatively flat, pillow ect. Not sure I would buy again.

I find these headphones comfortable. They are not the most portable, as they don't fold at all, and it is plastic so I have to be careful. They also did a decent job at blocking out sounds from an office environment. I will say that the cable was too short for my needs. I ended up getting a 2m cable so I could keep the cable out of the way.

These are some really great headphones. For most music listening I use Sennheiser Momentum on-ear, which are still considered one of the best sounding headphones on the market. These headphones match the great sound of the momentum, if not excel it. The sound is extremely well balanced with great mid-frequencies, as well as clear highs and lows meaning they sound great for all types of music, especially classical which has a greater dynamic range than pop-music. This makes them especially great for me as a composer. I am also a gamer and have been using the Sennheiser Game Zero for some time. I can honestly say the sound quality of the HD 569 are is far better than the Game Zero... even though the HD569 is currently £20 on Amazon! They are almost entirely made of plastic, which is one small down-side but they feel very sturdy and have a good weight to them without being too heavy for long use. The exchangeable cables are a great option because it means they can be used for both MP3 players and pc's, and also higher-end hifi systems that use the larger 6.3mm plugs. All-round a great pair of headphones that has a wide range of uses. Update: 1. After using the headphones for a wider range of audio, I have noticed clipping and distortion at the higher frequency spectrum (Was watching a horror movie and screams, high strings etc where VERY distorted). This could cause a problem for a lot of people. 2. Inside each of the cups is a little triangular part that sticks out a little and I have started to notice that my ears touch these whenever I wear the headphones and it soon becomes very noticeable, making the headphones quite a bit less comfortable (I'd almost stretch to say they have become uncomfortable). I don't have particularly larger ears, nor do they stick out but I believe the main problem is the thin padding on the HD 569, which means after a bit of use (keeping in mind they've only been out a few days), the ear cup pads become very thin leaving little padding around the ears.

I have had these for a couple of years now and they are the best. - No EMF (no wireless technology) - Comfortable for long hours - Good audio - Cord can be replaced if needed Honestly, what more do you need in a headset? Note that these headphones allow quite a lot of audio from outside so if you need total quiet I recommend buying some second hand quietcomfort 25 (they are also wired and dont have bluetooth which is good)

Clear discrimination of sounds. A little bit weak in low&high freq

The Sennheiser HD 569 is an amazing headphone, and produces excellent highs and lows easily, whilst blocking out a lot of noise for a headphone that does not have active noise cancellation. Now for the detailed version: 1. This headphone has good bass response, and every once in a while I wish Sennheiser would have given it a bit more kick, but then I listen to other headphones with excess bass and I love the lows in these again; a balanced level of bass. 2. This headphone produces high pitches almost perfectly; they are crystal clear, but unfortunately it seems my ears actually prefer a slightly tinnier (as in cheap earbud quality) treble sound. However, after listening to these for about a month, I started to appreciate how incredibly clear and full the highs are. 3. The midrange is where I think the sound quality of this headphone suffers the most, but that isn't saying much. My only comment would be that it seems to portray the midrange frequencies slightly less clearly than the highs and lows; still good, just the weakest frequency range on these headphones in my opinion. 4. THE COMFORT! One of the main purposes of purchasing these headphones was to have something that I could take anywhere, and wear for any amount of time, and these deliver both of those qualities excellently! I can now wear them for like a full day, and barely notice that I'm even wearing a giant over-ear headphone; it's great! 5. The build of these headphones is actually the only place where I'm a bit disappointed; some of the screws came loose between the band and the actual headphones within about 6 months, and the cord started cutting in and out for one headphone at about the same time. However, a small screw driver and one replacement cord did the trick and they were just as good as before. 6. Compatibility is great, as Sennheiser gives HD 569 headphones both the regular Aux-sized jack and the larger jack for real stereo/studio equipment, which is great when you're someone like me who actually does utilize both. 7. Sound cancellation is pretty good, and I would say it is slightly better than the average noise-isolating headphone, which is great, because I use these headphones in a lot of noise-saturated environments. Overall, I think that Sennheiser has done a good job with the HD 569, and it is definitely worth the $200! UPDATE: I couldn't believe that I ordered these in 2017 when I checked back to update this review. These headphones still operate flawlessly (provided you keep replacing the cord every 8 months - 1 year). The bass response has reduced slightly, and so the sound is not quite as full as it was almost three years ago when they were new. However, the headphones are extremely durable, and work consistently in -30 C and +35 C. I carry them in my backpack everywhere, and the plastic does not break or crack. The pads are still just as comfortable after threee years as they were when new; I can still wear these for an 8 hour workday without issue. Overall these headphones are spectacular and I would STILL highly recomend them, especially at the price they are offered at (which was about $200 when I purchased them).

Ho acquistato questa cuffia Sennheiser HD569 perché avevo bisogno di una cuffia chiusa per isolarmi dai rumori esterni, sono già felice possessore di una HD 560S sempre della stessa marca, questa è una cuffia aperta e per sua natura non adatta ad ambienti esterni o rumorosi. Ora non sto qui a fare un paragone su queste due cuffie, ma ovviamente la HD 560S suona meglio, però la HD569 l' ho pagata 80.89€, mentre la HD 560S l' ho pagata 149.90€, cioè quasi il doppio, ma concentriamoci sulla Sennheiser HD 569: La spedizione è avvenuta in un giorno ad opera della Logistica di Amazon, scatola in perfette condizioni... Brava come sempre Amazon! La confezione in cartone contiene all' interno una gommapiuma sagomata dove sono adagiate le cuffie protette completamente dalla gommapiuma per l'appunto; all' interno troviamo ancora un manuale utente e due cavi, uno lungo circa 3 metri ed un cavo da circa 1.2 metri con controlli e microfono per smartphone per rispondere alle chiamate. Ma ora passiamo alla "ciccia": Le cuffie si presentano con uno stile, una costruzione e utilizzo di materiali quasi identiche alla sorella maggiore, la HD 560S; quello che cambia, come già detto è che questa HD 569 è chiusa, e sopra i padiglioni chiusi c'è un vellutino ad impreziosirle, l'head band e i cuscinetti sono fatti in un tessuto sempre vellutato. I padiglioni sono larghi quanto quelli della HD 560S, larghi e comodissimi, come la calzata in testa, le puoi portare per ore e non accorgertene, non danno fastidio nemmeno le stanghette degli occhiali. Ora, vorrete sapere come si sentono queste cuffie... È presto detto: Questa è una cuffia a bassa impedenza (23ohm), cioè significa che non ha bisogno di molta potenza per esprimersi al meglio e ad alto volume, anche se un piccolo dac e amplificatore cuffie, collegato allo smartphone o al PC lo aiutano ad esprimersi ancora meglio; io l'ho collegato a quello che adopero con la HD 560S che vi ricordo essere una cuffia con un impedenza molto più alta (120ohm): Ho utilizzato un smsl d10, un dongle dac che ha sia uscita single ended da 3.5mm che bilanciata da 4.4mm, quest' ultima eroga 500mw, che per questa HD 569 rappresenta una potenza mostruosa collegato allo smartphone. Poi l'altro dac collegato al PC che è l'Aiyima A7 un dac con uscite single ended con potenza dichiarata dal costruttore di 1500mw (in tutti e due i casi, fate attenzione quando aumentate il volume, queste sono cuffie che vi dicono sempre "aumenta un altro po'" finché non diventate sordi quindi cercate di tenere sempre un volume piacevole e mai affaticante). Il suono è esaltato nelle medie frequenze, con voci e strumenti riprodotti magnificamente, i bassi ci sono e sono bei bassi, non strabordanti, controllati, dove manca un pochino per me è il punch; gli alti sono un poco spenti, attenzione, non è che non ci sono, ma non è una cuffia brillante, d'altronde è anche specificato dalla Sennheiser, che questa è una cuffia calda, intima. Il palcoscenico è molto aperto per essere una cuffia chiusa, la tecnologia E.A.R. adottata da Sennheiser inclina il trasduttore in modo da far credere all' orecchio di ascoltare come se al posto di cuffie (quindi un suono dentro la testa) avessimo delle casse davanti a noi; questa cosa funziona molto bene con le HD 560S, un poco meno con le HD 569 proprio per il fatto di essere "cuffie aperte" e "cuffie chiuse" l' unica cosa che manca veramente a differenza della sorella maggiore è un pizzico di dettaglio in più, e per questo purtroppo non si può fare nulla, ma se volete un suono brillante in stile HD 560S basta utilizzare l'equalizzatore, non è che questo benedetto strumento non si possa utilizzare, se poi non siete capaci da soli, fatevi aiutare a creare una curva di equalizzazione dall' intelligenza artificiale, sennò a che serve😉, così avrete una piccola HD 560S (chiusa e alla metà del prezzo, ovviamente con i propri limiti che vi ho mostrato). Cosa posso dire in conclusione: Per me a circa 80€ và comprata ad occhi chiusi, per una qualità dei materiali, di costruzione, di comodità... E per quanto riguarda il suono si può sempre limare qualcosa con un equalizzazione; credo che a questo prezzo non ci siano alternative che si avvicinino alla qualità di questa cuffia, si potrebbe spendere dal doppio al triplo per avere qualcosina in più in dettaglio, ma non altre qualità molto superiori. Per me 5 stelle questa Sennheiser HD 569 se le merita tutte, la ricomprerei tranquillamente altre 100 volte e spero sinceramente che duri il più possibile, anzi un ultima qualità: come la HD 560S i padiglioni i cavi e l'imbottitura dell' archetto superiore sono tranquillamente sostituibili, per renderle quasi eterne. Ed a proposito di cavi, può essere upgradato anche con cavo bilanciato da 4.4mm pentaconn (io l' ho utilizzato con il cavo che avevo acquistato per la HD 560S, funziona e migliora anche l' audio; tra l'altro l' attacco alla cuffia è lo stesso jack da 2.5mm con attacco a baionetta...
