DenonDP-400 Semi-Automatic Analog Turntable with Speed Auto Sensor | Specially Designed Curved Tonearm

PROS: Love the look of this unit. Tone arm set-up is well explained. Although not in the description, there is a cue lever. The plinth is heavy preventing vibrations from distorting the playback.CONS: The finger lift on the tone arm is matt black making it hard to find against the black background of the plinth. I changed out the headshell to one with a chrome finger lift. There is some noise from the turntable drive but the most serious issue is the poor quality built-in pre-amp - clearly discernible because it does not produce the full range of frequencies that the magnetic cartridge is capable of. Fortunately the internal pre/amp can be turned off I used a high quality pre-amp from my old set/up - - - because of the poor quality of the built-in pre-amp and drive noise I reluctantly must rate this turntable at 3 out of 5. I expected better value for the cost of this unit.

I'm really loving this turntable so far. Set-up was really easy and playback is just sublime. Granted, I'm a neophyte, but I really am enjoying my experience with this piece of equipment. I have upgraded it to an Ortofon Concorde cartridge with a Ortofon 20 stylus and the gains were quite noticeable.

This is my first turntable. I did a lot of research and am happy with my purchase. Replaced the stock cartridge with an Ortofon 2m Blue.

This is an awesome piece of machinery. So well designed and ergonomically friendly and cool-looking. And, of course, it sounds fantastic. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

Turntable auto stop function does not work.Just opened box and is already out of warranty.
