Victorinox quality built to last. The pouch is quality. Be warned in the UK as the knife feature is a lock knife feature, which is illegal to carry on your person without lawful authority or reasonable purpose. Be ready to justify its presence and don't just put it in your pocket on your way out the door. Mine is stored in and with my trauma bag and I'm sure will get used before long.

An excellent rescue tool with all of the necessary equipment - one-handed blade, seatbelt / ligature cutter, glass saw, window breaker, 2x screwdrivers, wire stripper and an awl / reamer. A set of tweezers and toothpick are stored in the end near the keyring. The one-handed blade and the flat screwdriver / wire stripper both lock open. The Victorinox Rescue Tool is larger than other Victorinox pocket knives, which gives it more strength and makes it easier to use whilst wearing gloves. The construction is very sturdy, of thick, high-quality stainless steel and the hinges are very strong. The plastic handle is tough and the high-vis yellow glows in the dark (exposure to light charges the glow). It comes with a high-vis red belt pouch that has high-vis yellow trim.

Where do I begin? This Swiss knife is fantastic in so many ways. I wondered if the glass saw could cut wood as I am using this for expeditions and not just rescue situations. The saw does cut wood and pretty well I might add and the belt cutter is great for cutting branches and vines. I recently used the glass breaker to crack a stone in half just to see if it would and it did! The knife is pretty sharp, and I like the serrations near the tip of the blade. The one handed opening is spot on but a bit fiddly closing with the right hand but possible with practice (I'm a lefty anyway). It just feels quality and to be honest thats what I expected from Victorinox.

I Have been a fan of Victorinox Swiss Army Knives ever since I was a kid even then you could tell they were better than anything else, you hardly ever have to resharpen them, and even a teenager could see that there was something special about the way thy were built, and even the steel looked different from all the other knives. And most importantly every thing worked as it was supposed to. So when I tell you that this Rescue Knife is the best Ive used you wont be surprised, or that the new beefed up longer blade with a large opening hole works with gloves on and that it cuts through just about anything that can be cut. It has Glass breaker at one end and a glass cutting saw to get through shatterproof windscreens. Both of these tools have a hard life and can easily be replaced by spares in seconds. The seat belt cutter is serrated and very sharp and cuts through seat belt with one quick slice. The big flat head screwdriver is also designed to be used for prying open crates etc. On the back of the knife is an effective Philips screwdriver and a sharp awl. To finish this fine tool off it has a Lanyard and the scales are Fluorescent yellow polymer which show up easily during the day and if its been out in the light will fluoresce bright enough to read buy or if dropped can be seen in pitch darkness at 150 feet or more. The Rescue Tool comes supplied with a bright red and yellow Emergency coloured pouch made of very very thick Nylon and supplied with a heavily riveted belt loop that will take any belt. Every thing about this tool feels right and works, I think that every one should carry one in there car, but whether this would be legal given that the blade is over 3 inches and necessarily locks in place im not sure it would be, even though it is a life saving tool and belongs in a car which is a very good reason for carrying it. This tool is beautifully built and can be bought for as little as £50. Personally I think it works on every level, and is so tough is worth considering as a survival or camping/Hiking back up tool, which ever way you look at it its money well spent.

The Victorinox Rescue Tool is one of those pieces of equipment that you hope you never get a chance to use, because if you do, it means you or someone else has been in an accident. The Rescue tool is designed to be easily seen in dark or smokey situations - hence the bright yellow scales and the poster red and yellow sheath. The scales of the tool actually glow if given enough charge under a light. To help you extracate yourself from a dangerous situation such as a car crash, the tool has - a large lockable blunt-nosed combo blade - A curved safety belt cutter - a saw for cutting through glass - Large lockable slotted screwdriver / cap lifter / wire stripping tool - Can opener / small slotted screwdriver - Glass breaking tool - Awl (on the back of tool) - Philips screwdriver (On back of tool) The Good : Build quality is great, design is well thought out and the main blade has a large eyelet hole, similar to the Spyderco designs that allows one handed opening. The seat belt cutter could also conceivably be opened one handed if you snagged the end of it on clothing but it's not a fast and fluid process. The glass breaker and glass saw can be replaced. The bad: Only one of the cutting tools locks into place, the locking system is a reverse liner lock - great if you are left handed but if you are one of the more common right handed people you will need two hands to close this tool. I'm very happy with this tool and I am planning to buy it for a couple of others for their cars gloveboxes. Just for interest, Victorinox also make another similar tool called the Pro Duo, which has a lockable main blade - identical to the one on the Rescue tool and a lockable belt cutter. It's not brightly coloured and lacks the glass breaking and cutting tools of the rescue Tool but is worth a look.

I will be using this product for its intended use as I am an emergency service worker, it will go straight on my WORK utility belt. It is absolute quality - maybe victorinox could send shaving cream - I have shaving rash and a bald patch up my arm :-D A word of advice as it seems to be a hot topic, it is illegal to carry in the street without cause, if your reply is that you want to be a hero - have you ever smashed a window? Where is your PPE to go with it? Most emergency service workers carry the right PPE to use this equipment on their person at all times - I certainly would not be in possession of this in the streets outside of work

This is and excellent product that is made to the highest quality and standard. I have had a number of high end pocket knives over the years including a number of Victorinox models which I rate highly but this one is the best by far. It is the most robust clasp knife that I have ever seen which is built to withstand the most testing of circumstances. Be warned however, this knife is literally sharp enough to shave with and care should be taken when opening and close any of the cutting blades. I actually blunted the main knife blade close to the hing because it was taking fine slithers of the skin of my thumb when opening it one handed! The only thing I think this knife lacks is a pair of pliers which would make it perfect, but all in all it is still and excellent piece of kit.

The Rescue Tool.......kind of says it all really, it appears that Victorinox have found a niche in the market, can your Gerber or Leatherman boast a glass smasher or seatbelt slasher? No, probably not but this tool does, plus it comes with the standard toothpick and tweezers. Drawbacks...the main blade does lock (like a L-Man tool not with a handle switch like the old style lockblades from Victorinox) but is a bit clumpy, I have already sliced my thumb TWICE putting it back but maybe that was my fault, also the bright red and green case is a bit lurid but these are mere bagatelles...the glass saw is more like a large toothed wood saw and sadly my wife wont let me try it out on the car but one day..who knows? A specialist tool for the outdoors type (with a car) with limited screwdriver (the slotted is huge!) and no plier action but fantastic for what it boasts, large blades (one replaceable) and some nifty features, plus the handles glow in the dark (just watch the blade!) Well done people, once again at the forefront of multi tool technology, just think about the colour scheme next time though please.

Habe bisher ein Rettungsmesser mit Glatter Tanto Klinge und einem Gurtschneider im Rücken benutzt. Das macht aber tatsächlich wenig sinn wenn man nur Gute aber sehr schlecht Kleidung schneiden kann daher hab ich mich umgeschaut und bin natürlich bei Victorinox gelandet weil das einfach erfahrungsgemäß toll ist. Jetzt werde ich kurz was über die Funktionen los: Glasbrecher: Wechselbar gebaut also kann da wenig Schief gehen er sitzt schön fest mittig damit bekommt man bestimmt gut ein Loch in ein ESG aber wie es mit VSG (Frontscheiben) aussieht das muss der Praxistest zeigen. Kapselöffner / Schlitzschrauber: Wie gewohnt standart Victorinox das hat bestimmt jeder Schonmal in der Hand gehabt ist per Linerlock gesichert an sich einfach nur ein Gewohntes Feature. Messer/Klinge: Einhändig zu öffnen aber in der Einsatzjacke kein problem. Ist mit einem Linerlock ausgestattet (gleiche Platte die den Flaschenöffner sichert) Die Klinge ist schön Scharf und wie auf den Bildern zu sehen gewellt das sorgt dafür das man sie bei quasi jedem Material einsetzten kann. Gurtschneider: Das Hauptfeature des Messers ein wunderbarer Gurt/Textil schneider einfach mit Handschuhen zu öffnen da er vorne über steht das Teil ist Rattenscharf habs mal eben an einem Löchrigen Socken Ausprobiert jetzt hab ich 2 Halbe und das ganz ohne Kraftaufwand dazu die Abgerundete Form um zwischen Kleidung und Körper rein fahren zu können. So muss ein gutes Werkzeug aussehen! Glassäge: Das Werkzeug welches bei mir wohl nur 1x (zum Probieren) verwendung finden wird. VSG Sägen ist sehr Kraftaufwändig und ein Langes Sägeblatt bietet sich an steigert die Geschwindigkeit und man kommt nicht so schnell aus der Puste. Ich denke ich werde IMMER zum Glasmannagement Koffer greifen und die Richtige Säge holen. Wegen mir hätte das nicht ins Messer gemusst aber das ist die sicht eines Feuerwehrlers der im Einsatz natürlich das "richtige" Werkzeug zur verfügung hat. Schraubendreher: Kreuzschlitz wie gewohnt an der Unterseite gutes Teil wobei ich immernoch Hoffe das sie irgendwann eine Kooperation mit Wera machen und einen Magnetischen Lasertip Kopf liefern das wär ein Upgrade! Das Komische Teil das man glaubt Stechahle nennt: Hab ich noch nie gebraucht, werde ich nie brauchen, keine Ahnung wozu man es brauchen könnte der Größte Vorteil an dem Teil ist das es kein Nachteil darstellt. Ist eigentlich nichtmal ne erwähnung wert aber gehört der Vollständigkeit halber rein... ach ja das geht verdammt schwer raus dachte schon mein Fingernagel fehlt danach. Fazit: Gutes Tool in der Einsatzjacke ich berichte nach der "Feuertaufe"

Me gusta mucho la marca Victorinox así como los productos que hace y tal es así que cuento en mi haber con varios productos de esta marca y esta navaja en cuestión me encanta y le tenía el ojo echado desde que salió pero que ha sido ahora cuando me la he podido permitir pues el precio por el que la he comprado, con el envío incluido, ha sido imbatible y no me he podido resistir a tenerla conmigo. Para mí no es sólo una navaja excepcional que corta de maravilla sino que es una herramienta multiusos imprescindible y que cuenta con múltiples funciones con un diseño y unos colores muy bonitos para mi gusto que la hacen siempre visible evitando así su extravío y pérdida y que junto con la funda que trae a juego de gran resistencia y calidad a la altura de la navaja hace de esta Victorinox Rescue Tool la compañera perfecta ante cualquier imprevisto. Personalmente me a encantado en todos los aspectos habidos y por haber y la recomiendo al 100%!!!
