What a truly fantastic Book!
My 4 year old really loved this book. There were days when he would do 10 pages out of his own initiative but on some days he would only do 1 or 2 pages. The book is so well structured that before he knew it, he could count, order, write and read numbers really confidently. The confidence he gained thanks to this book really motivated him and as a result he absolutely loves his Maths lessons at school. Our son is a summer born baby which means that he is 2nd youngest in his classroom (reception year). He started school in September and could only count to 10. He couldn't count back and he couldn't read or write numbers at all. Completing this book really made a huge difference and it didn't just teach him counting, reading & writing numbers, it also provided a lot of pencil skill & writing practice. His handwriting is so neat that even the classroom teacher commented on how neat his handwriting is. All I say is that this was a brilliant purchase and we will be buying many more books by Kumon. Will try their literacy books too.

Amazing
These books are perfect as a learning supplement. We bought this one and 2 others (uppercase letters and tracing) and it's given my just gone 3 year old more confidence in writing and drawing, and just as important we take the time to work with him on holding the pencil correctly, which he now nearly does. Before these books (and some carefully selected iPad apps) he didn't want yo draw anything and now he's starting to show some signs of interest. I love that there are commercial quality books available to help parents teach their children. In our fast paced world it's more important than ever for parents to take responsibility for their child's education, these books make that easy and accessible. Thanks Kumon! We will (I'm sure) eventually be buying the full set. (And that's my inky complaint.... Wish you could buy sets or the whole set to help with a learning path.

Love all kumon books!!
Love kumon I studied kumon as a kid and now my daughter and she finds these so helpful in improving on what she already knows. Some questions can be repetitive however in life much of what we do is repetitive and a lot of progress can be based on memory which I believe where this system stems from so I don't mind it, it also helps in ammending any mistakes my daughter would make.

my almost 5 y.old daugther is fianlly into numbers!
what can I say, after hearing so many good thing from a friend which her daugther joined kumon a while a ago, and she is in fact very good with the number, and then I saw this book I wanted to give it a go, I am so glad I did it because my daugther is now into numbers, finally! even her teacher did not know how to teach her as she wouldn't understand the concept, and me? I just give up! I am glad I found kumon in numbers, so in very few days she almost finished this one, I am glad I also buy 1-100 one!

My son make good progress with writing
My son make good progress with writing, he does 4 pages a day, takes about 5 minutes. He has grown in confidence in writing. At this stage of learning is all about repetition, and this book is good at it.

My daughter enjoyed the book
This was the first Kumon book I bought for my almost 5 year old and she loved it. She quickly worked through the dot to dot pages and she probably completed 5 pages in one sitting. I had to take the book away! I purchased the book to build upon her number sequencing and I have noticed this has really improved. I have bought the next level for her I think it's 1-120 or 1-150

Definitely recommend this
After the first page, my daughter looks forward to doing more and more. It's age appropriate and designed to interest the pre-school kids. My 3 year old daughter loves it, her motoring skills and pencil gripping skills have improved immensely.

Generally I like what KUMON has to offer
This is one of many KUMON books I have bought for my 4yo twin daughters which are about to go to school this year. Generally I like what KUMON has to offer, but sadly this book does not seem to be as good as others. I think that difficulty of the problems goes up way too fast -- children were enjoying tracing the numbers and were able to connect dots (with some difficulties) but to draw number on its own without any help proved to be too difficult for them. They just get frustrated very quickly, particularly as each unsuccessful attempt requires erasing pencil marks from the paper. Although all children are different I doubt that many 3 years old (starting age for this book?) are able to complete the last task - write unaided all numbers from 1 to 30 each in its fairly small box. I think if you want to teach your children to write numbers I think this product: Tiny Tots First Learning 123 - Explorers (Tiny Tots Easels) will be more useful.

Great Book For Learning About Numbers!
The Kumon series of books works by empowering children to succeed on their own. The books get successively more difficult as they build upon skills learned from the previous pages, so that by the end of the book the child has a sense of accomplishment and be ready to move on to the next level. The instructor is more of a mentor or coach than a teacher in a classroom. This numbers book is designed to help teach familiarity of numbers 1-30 and how to write them. It does this by doing simple dot-to-dots, number tracing, number puzzles, number matching with objects, and counting with dots. There's quite a bit of number writing practice mixed in with a lot of fun activities. My 3 year old can easily follow the first half of the book without much of a problem. The second half is a little more difficult as it switches to dots instead of objects. The font becomes smaller and the numbers more abundant. I started photocopying the pages of the book, but then realized that my child doesn't mind just going over and over the same numbers again and again. Kumon also has the My Book Of Number Games 1-70 (Kumon Workbooks) , My Book Of Numbers 1-120 (Kumon Workbooks) , and My Book Of Number Games 1-150 (Kumon Workbooks) books in the series, but this is the first book to start out with when learning the numbers. Highly recommended!
