I’ve had this for 2 months now, and I got it since my rescue dog barks at strangers and has lunged at children. I appreciate that it’s relatively simple to use and very customizable. I’ve only really had to use the beep option, and rarely the vibrate. I used the shock once and it scared my dog pretty badly, and she really only needs the first 2 options. It’s significantly helped reduce her barking at strangers and helps correct negative behaviors very quickly (when used as the behavior is occurring or right after). I do find that the collar loosens while she’s running around. It is very durable and I’ve only charged it once since having it, so somehow my battery has lasted almost 2 months! I was turning it on and off for the first couple weeks, but stopped and just left it on after that. I wish it came with a charger however.

I live in NW Montana and bought this training collar mostly to stop my young dog, Beemer, from barking at and/or chasing deer that lived here before I built my house and live here with me now on my 20 acre property. I also put out water in a tub for the deer, birds and ground squirrels because there isn't a water source of any kind close by. I often let Beemer out for long periods of time so he can get plenty of exercise running and exploring. Unfortunately, he was scaring the deer, playing in their water tub and getting muddy while splashing the water out and leaving what was left muddy. This collar is well designed and constructed, easy to use, has great range and the 3 functions (beep, vibrate or shock) can be easily tailored to the appropriate level for the pet and purpose. I have found it to be very effective in breaking some of Beemer's bad habits that would have otherwise been almost impossible to do or would have taken much longer. Now I can watch him from a window as he explores the area and plays with sticks he finds on the ground. It didn't take long for me to catch him in the act and then use one of the functions to stop him in his tracks and come back to the house. Beemer has stopped barking at and/or chasing the local deer. He also won't go near the water tub. I have seen him lying on the pavement and watching the deer graze not very far away. Some of the deer still won't come around while he's out, but several of them have decided that he is not a threat and will graze with him visibly present. If he stands up, they will probably be alarmed, but if I'm watching, I can give him a quick beep or vibration and he will immediately turn around and walk back to the house. I believe at least some of the deer and Beemer will eventually be able to be in the same area without any alarm and they and the other animals now have a reliable source of water...at least until the ice and snow cause it to freeze. Another benefit of the collar demonstrated itself this morning as I was at my kitchen window. Beemer was playing with a stick on the concrete apron in front of the garage when he suddenly broke into a full-speed run with the hair on his back standing straight up. I immediately pulled the remote out of my shirt pocket as I looked ahead of Beemer to see what he was chasing and saw that he was quickly gaining ground on a resident fox that I have seen many times. I immediately started pressing the vibration and shock buttons as he disappeared into the woods out of sight. Beemer is pretty strong-willed and I was concerned that I might not be able to stop him, but a couple of seconds later he emerged from the woods and was trotting back toward the house with the fox, now the pursuer, following him. But the fox was apparently confused when Beemer suddenly turned and started running back toward home and initially decided to chase him. But then, as if giving the situation more thought, it wisely peeled off and scampered back into the woods toward safety. Beemer (a mixed Golden/Lab) is faster, larger and stronger than the fox. I have no doubt that Beemer would have caught up with the fox since, in just seconds, he was only inches from the fox's tail when I pulled the remote from my pocket. The fox would have just as surely fought back since he would literally be fighting for his life. If Beemer had not been wearing the collar and I had not been standing at the window, I believe the likely result would have been a dead fox and a seriously lacerated dog that would have spent some painful time with a vet this morning. I had previously realized that the collar could possibly be used as a safety device to remove a threat in an emergency. Beemer has always turned and ran toward home immediately after being alerted, regardless of which function I used and there may be times when that propensity would be important.

I've had this shock collar for around two weeks now and have found it to be great. I charged the collar and remote the day I received it and it still has 3/4 charge, and I have used it quite a lot. The unit looks and feels well made and it says that it is waterproof, which is good because my Golden Retriever likes to get in our pond. It has an adjustable noise, vibration and shock mode, and I rarely have to use the shock mode, all I usually have to do is pick up the unit to make her behave. She is a nice dog but is very hyper and has been hard to train. This unit has really helped.

I've read the criticisms of this collar- which are generally accurate. But the price is great, and the system is durable enough and effective once you learn its functions. Yes, the fabric collar can loosen (but you can alleviate the issue by sizing it properly, and the collar should not be used except for training/ monitoring). It's a nice reflective collar. The hand controller hardware seems reliable enough but should not be abused or immersed in water. It functions very well, and the battery life of both the controller and waterproof collar receiver is good. I live on a farm with flat pastures and the effective line of sight range is well over half a mile (rated over a mile) as my dog returns using the beep function. Complaints about the collar receiver's on-off noises are overhyped. The collar receiver is already bulky enough (it includes removable shock probes) and includes a single LED indicator. Turning the collar receiver on produces a vibration. When the collar receiver is on, the LED blinks slowly. When turning off the collar with a long button press, the receiver sounds a clear, loud beep. Visual on/off indicators would have been nicer. The off beep is similar to the training beep sound (and might be heard by dog) - so I would prefer different power-off indicator but the battery life for both receiver and controller are great. I charge each about once weekly but they can go longer. I have two dogs using these collars, and they work quite well as call devices (return to home). One dog is a Great Pyrenees who roams over and protects a few acres of land. The other is a small terrier who likes to chase the sheep nearby the house. When I allow these dogs to free range I will attach the collars and carry a single controller (which can control up to two collars- pair a second device (setting"2") by pressing receiver button 3 times). I have used only the "beep" setting (vs shock) to call the dogs home to me. I did not train them to do this - they returned home after hearing the beep (beep setting "H1") the first time I used it, and I'm clueless why. So no need for vibration or shock, and I removed the shock probes. The beep must be a stimulus I don't understand but it works great with two very different dog breeds. The other great thing about the beep setting (vs vibration/ shock settings) is that you can hear it from 100+ yards away to get a fix on where your dog is. I use the collar functions sparingly, as I don't want them to get habituated to the signal. With the shock probes removed, these collars can be worn for extended periods without skin irritation. This is a useful device. Be gentle with it, and it will serve its purpose for a very reasonable price.

Remember when shock collars for dogs were hundreds of dollars?? THIS right here is chefs kiss. Works SO well, has like 8 different beeping noises, the vibrate and the shock which both have a range from 0-60, and then 0-100 for changing the intensity. I think i put the shock on like 20 and it makes my dog squeel, which I dont use hardly ever because I feel so bad! But he is very very receptive to the beeping so I really only ever have to use that. He is a golden doodle with long hair and it still works great! The charge holds for weeks, maybe even months. Love it!!!

We have a French Bulldog that has a mind of his own. We live in a rural setting surrounded by large trees and bushes. Our dog has developed a love of following deer sent and various other distractions. When he is in that frame of mind he totally tunes you out and his objective is all that matters. He would disappear and then the search was on to try and locate him and get him back into the house. I purchased the training collar as a last resort in an effort to get him to listen and respond to my commands. When the device arrived the instructions were very simple to understand and follow. I adjusted all of the settings to be about mid range. I put the collar on him and we went outside for a potty. It did not take long for him to follow his normal routine and began to trot of away from the house. I whistled and called his name and no response as was normal. I whistled again and pressed the first alarm button on the hand held device. There was no visible response. I whistled again and pressed the second alarm for the vibration on the hand held device. Again there was no visible response. I whistled a third time and then pressed the third button on the hand held device for shock. This time his response was immediate. He jumped straight in the air as if he had shot, but still did not respond to my calling him. I whistled again and pressed the shock button again and immediately got the same jump in the air reaction. This time when I whistled he turned and looked at me and ran back to me immediately. Later that evening I took him out again for his evening potty break. He began to wonder off as was expected. I whistled and no response. I pressed the first button on the hand held device. I noticed a reaction from him, but he kept going. I whistled again and pressed the second button on the hand held device for vibration. This time he immediately stopped and ran back to the house. Even though we are early in the training process, I can see that this training collar is going to be effective and very beneficial. One note, this is not a device to hurt or punish the dog, but when used correctly, it is a very useful and effective way to train a non response dog. After owning this for a month, I want to add to this review. I really should have ordered this sooner. Since the initial time of using the actual shock feature, I have never had to shock again. I have been able to work with our French Bulldog ( who is very opinionated by the way) and now when I give him a little whistle, he comes running back to me. I started by whistling then pressing the first button on the hand held unit. He began to associate the whistle with something more aggressive was coming next. He began to just come back after the initial whistle. I still put the collar on every time he goes outside whether I am with him or not. Sometimes in the morning when it is dark, he goes outside alone to perform his morning constitutional. So far, if he does not return in an expected amount of time, I open the door and whistle and he runs to the door This purchase is probably one of the best things I have ever done to eliminate the frustration of a hard headed, over excited, extremely enthusiastic and very fun loving dog. Again I want to emphasize, this is not a tool to cause harm in any way to your dog, it is strictly for training purposes only. If used correctly, both you and your dog will be much happier.

Might work on a smaller dog or one who is not stubborn. Did not work on my 110 pound Dogo Argentino mix girl though. It sort of got her attention once then she flat ignored it even on the highest level. Even my trainer said she needs a higher level. He did say it is a nice collar for the price for a smaller dog

I really wanted to like this training collar because it worked well during the first month. We bought it for our new Beagle puppy, Margaret, and have only used it for basic training. However, after just one month of ownership, the remote suddenly stopped working this morning. It has never been dropped, exposed to water, or misused. The battery indicator still shows about half charge, but a solid red light appeared at the bottom of the remote, and the screen seems completely frozen on Level 1. None of the buttons respond anymore. I'm now charging both the remote and the receiver. The first time I charged it, the charging indicator flashed green as expected. This time there is no charging light at all, making it seem like the remote has completely failed. It's disappointing because the product had been working well until this happened. I'm hoping the seller sees this review and contacts me with a solution or a replacement, as this appears to be a hardware failure after very little use. I'll gladly update my review if the issue is resolved. Update (July 2026): After posting this review, I found the reset button on the receiver and performed a reset. The collar is working again. I'm not changing my rating yet because I still don't know what caused the device to freeze in the first place. It happened suddenly during normal use, with about 50% battery remaining, and the remote became unresponsive while showing a red light. The reset fixed it, but I would expect the manual to explain this procedure more clearly. I'll continue testing it and update this review again if the issue returns or if it proves to be reliable over time.

This is good when it works. But it doesn’t always respond

Pete Bauer Canada The first Bousnic Dog Shock Collar I purchased had a minor problem which can happen with any electronic device. For me the most important factor is how the manufacturer rectifies the problem. First thing I did was contact Bousnic and I got my answer back in about 12 hours which was in my opinion super fast. They asked me to make sure it was paired and on Channel 1so I paired and made sure it was on channel 1 and the problem persisted (INTERMITTENT CONTACT). I mentioned to them that when charging the remote transmitter I had to wiggle the USB connection periodically to obtain full charge. The very next day I got a message back that they were going to warranty the product and gave me 2 options on how to replace it of which both options were more than suitable, very simple at no cost to me. It took approximately 4 days for the entire replacement and return of funds and in my books you can’t beat that, this company is completely honorable I give them 1000 plus******. The new collar works perfectly, easy to set up and even easier to operate. I have an 8 month old Rottweiler and he is a handful for my wife and I who are age 75 and 80. We would have major problems controlling our pup without the Bousnic shock collar and we only use the vibration mode at 8, we have never had the need to use the shock nor the Beep mode, that’s how well it works. Another amazing factor is that the receiver is very small and really comfortable for the dog. Not much more I can say other than I highly recommend this product with no reservations whatsoever, a really great company to deal with and a really great product.

We mostly use the beep and vibrate features, but occasionally do want to use the shock. After a couple months, we have noticed that every time we do administer a shock the button always sticks giving our dog a continuous shock. Thank goodness there is an off switch. This collar is very poor quality and dangerous to our dog. Extremely disappointed.

When my other remote training collar stopped working, I decided to try this. It is affordable and had lots of easily access accessible options. What I liked about this in comparison to my other one was the display screen. The options to turn everything up and down worked well. My dog responded very well, but I didn’t like the very loud sound it made when it turned off. I have had it for less than 30 days and the markings on the buttons are already fading, which I don’t like given that eventually the button markings will eventually fade completely. I also don’t like the length of the cord on the remote. I much prefer a lanyard around my neck which I could buy easy enough. In terms of charging the unit, I have only had to charge once out of the box and we use it twice a day for about 30 minutes each walk. It is a clunker unit so holding it in my hand with the lanyard doesn’t seem comfortable. That being said, despite this being suitable, I am going back to my old collar since my dog is 11 and is familiar with all of the sounds.
