No it's not sutible for dishwashers or microwaves , he is lovely though .

I chose to hand wash this item just to keep it safe and make sure there is no wear and tear on the glazing, dishwashers are too harsh.

It states it's made of porcelain in the item description and I've no reason to believe it's made of anything else I love the mug - it's quirky and I find it easy and nice to drink out of - despite its lopsidedness I'd definitely buy another if the need should arise Hope this helps
