Yes indeed you can. I just used two pads (instead of the four supplied) on my lower back... It has two outputs (dual Channel) but you don't have to use both outputs... just plug a single cable into either one of the output sockets and you are away to use just two electro pads..

Does this have any kind of 'lock' option, to stop the power being accidentally turned up if you knock them by mistake?

Yes the power dial in inside a cover,that you would have to open before you can alter the power level. It is a great machine & half the price of Boots. I would not be without it. Gill

What's the difference between this Medfit 3 and Medfit 1? I do hiking, running, and Boxing. I feel my kneecap and patella pain, can this cure it?

The main difference is that the 3 has a digital display, so can be set more accurately, although accuracy is not really required to that degree. It will stop the pain (even long after using it) but TENS machines do not cure anything, all they do is stop the pain signal reaching the brain, so you don't know you are in pain! They are for chronic illnesses, something which either can't be cured or will take a lot of time. It may help in that if you don't feel the pain then you will tend to move more, which was better for me at any rate.

can it be used with earclips to stimulate the vagus nerve?
