Does this cream work for piercings?

Ignore the first answer - it makes no sense, withut any justifucation at all. Germolene is perfectly good as an antiseptic. However, this recent version is NOT the same as it was around twenty years ago. It now contains miniscule anaesthetic and, as a result, has nothing like the same effectiveness in numbing pain.

Is the pain relief ingredient an nsaid?

That word isn't on tube & I couldn't find anything about not using Pain Killers at same time. I have always used for Antiseptic use more than pain. We're outdoors people camping etc. If scratched or bumped out side this small tube is great as a quick clean and Dab on till we can clean & or treat when able to. Children seem to be reassured by a tiny dab until we can wash and dress if needed later on. They seem reassured by the nice smell too.

How good is this at numbing?

This modern version is quite poor at numbing compared with the original formulation, which was very effective.
