Do i need to use 3 coas of self etching primer on aluminium or simply using 3-4 coats of hammerite would do the job?

Non ferrous metals need to be etch primed first.

Can I use this spray on a aluminium alloy that would heat up?

All depends upon temperature. I sprayed onto and engine cover, and it has been fine so far.

Can you spray plastic panels with this

I don't think it would be suitable for plastic panels

How many cans to do 4 car wheels?

depending on the thickness of the coats, however I think you might be better with 2 tins
