Beautifully written and designed, Brightening Our Inner Skies: Yin and Yoga practically and provocatively explores yoga, self-transformation and social responsibility. This book takes the practice of yoga and self to profound levels through stories, images and well-researched debates. It provides the principles and practicalities of Yin, highlighting how it acts as a bridge to a meditation practice and can allow the practitioner to experience the energy channels of Traditional Chinese Medicine (with a helpful chart of meridians, health issues and emotions). Designed as a book to practice from, it opens flat, with the narrative in short sections and evocative photos of nature bringing in a breathing space of mind and eye. Useful and inspirational to newcomers to yoga as well as experienced teachers, Brightening Our Inner Skies draws together decades of practice, teaching experience with thousands of students and a deep desire to help the practitioner change themselves and change the world, one posture, one practice at a time. Students and teachers have said it is that rare thing: a yoga book that's a page turner! Review: Beautifully & deeply written, love this book - Having attended Norman's workshops via zoom, I fell in love with his style of teaching and how Norman is. How he explains yoga, from his experience! I bought this book to learn deeper about Yin Yoga more, every teachers have their own style of teaching / sharing to their students. I really like his. I love everything about this book, easy - to - see meridian chart, clear instructions, stories, poems, as well as his own spiritual yoga journey. It's delighted to read and experience his journey "together". Very honest book, just like how Norman comes across ( even through zoom) though his workshops / classes. I can not wait to read more ( I'm not good at reading) whenever I have time. I defo recommend this book to yoga teachers, yoga teachers in training or yoga practitioner of any level. What a gem. Review: Great Book - So happy I purchased this book. It's written beautifully. I keep dipping into it. Yin Yoga is so healing.

my kind of yoga book - highly recommend
beautifully written with stunning images and wonderful snippets of wisdom. A book that you can dip into and out of frequently while always finding something to inspire. I loved the honesty and sincerity that spilled from the pages when writing about his own journey, would love to attend a workshop with this teacher. So pleased I bought this book to add to the ever growing yoga collection.

A beautiful book
The book itself is a beautiful thing with lovely photography and stylish mat pages. I'm really enjoying the personal story that Norman shares as it is woven into very useful and descriptive information about yin.

Very informative and interesting read! I can't wait to get home in the evenings to read more and have re-read quite a few chapters not because it is difficult to understand but because I just can't get enough of the wise and inspiring words!

Easy to follow
This is a beautiful book and easy to follow. Yin Yoga is not physically difficult but it does take patience and concentration to allow yourself to Stay Still. Your mind will always want you to move. Norman Blair has many years of experience and it shows.
