I have been struggling to find something strong enough for my music books for my keyboard, frustrated with pages trying to close as I played. As I practise with headphones, this gadget sits over one of the keyboard speakers on the keyboard itself. The page grips are perfect, well made and suits many other purposes such as following recipes, very sturdy will not knock over.

Even though this stand is marketed for holding cookbooks, I use it to hold guitar sheet / tab books, and it works just as well! Even though most guitar books will dwarf the actual stand, it does make a great job of holding them and the clips work well, so it doesn't really make a difference what kind of book you use! You can adjust the length to hold different sized books and hold them at varying angles. Though I'm not sure it'll hold a book as big or as weighty as an old-fashioned Bible for example or a heavy cookbook. Loses 1 star as it does look a little on the cheap side (even though it is cheap!) and I'm not sure it can withstand a heavy book, no matter its vocation! But otherwise, for the money a good purchase.

Fantastic for holding actual books while you read in bed. Two little arms hold the book open for you as you read. No more blood rushing out of your arms as you read your book in bed. It folds away neatly and is great for just lying back in bed and reading your book with your arns by your side.

This book stand has been an absolute game-changer for me! I’ve recently dragged out some of my longer paperbacks for a good reread (when I’m not on my Kindle), and this stand gives me the comfort I didn’t know I was missing. I need to use a bookrest to support my reading habit and after using a Bamboo wood bookstand, which was not only heavy and awkward to use but had started to warp badly. And so this aluminium based bookstand seemed an excellent idea; Light in weight but with a reassuringly sturdy feel about it, and easy to set up and fold away. But in use, holding any sort of book open with the fitted page clips is totally impossible, thereby, sadly, making the device 'unfit for purpose'. The only workable option seemed to be to use separate 'Bulldog' type spring clips, but unless the size of the book is approximately the same size of the back plate of the support and not too thick, that won't work either. Or at least, I didn't for me. So the practical option is to look for a similar product but with clips powerful enough to overcome contemporary books with so called 'ideal binding'

This is a great versatile book stand. I have some very large and heavy cookbooks along with thin and flimsy ones. This stand supports them all in a steady and usable manner. I have owned and used many book stands. This is my best yet! Happy baking.
