Stylish & Smart Recycling Bin — Almost Perfect
Why I Bought It My kitchen was getting cluttered with separate bins for trash and recycling, and I wanted something efficient that would let me sort waste without having multiple separate containers taking up space. The simplehuman CW2025 promised a dual-compartment solution, a strong pedal, and a clean stainless finish, exactly what I was looking for. Setup / First Impressions It arrived fully assembled, which was great — no instructions or time lost putting pieces together. The stainless steel has a brushed finish with a fingerprint-proof coating, which keeps it looking tidy even after lots of use. The dual compartments are well-matched: 34 L for general trash, 24 L for recycling, so I don’t have to empty the recycling side super often. The liner pocket inside is clever, I can stash a roll of liners right in the bin so changing bags is quick and less messy. Pedal feels sturdy, lid closes quietly, and overall it looks premium in my kitchen. Performance / Quality In everyday use this bin works very well. The pedal is wide and feels durable; even with daily stomping (kids, cooking, etc.) it seems solid and doesn’t squeak or wobble. Lid “soft-close” is a big plus — no loud bangs or slams. The liner rim holds bags neatly without overhanging or slipping in, which keeps things looking clean. On the downside: because it’s large and dual compartment, it takes up quite some floor space (Width ~22", Depth ~14.2", Height ~25.8") so it’s best suited to a decent sized kitchen, not a tiny one. Also, the stainless steel finish is good at resisting fingerprints, but you can still see smudges if you touch it directly or with wet hands. Pros ✔️ Dual compartments mean trash + recycling in one tidy unit ✔️ Solid build (steel pedal, durable materials) and a 10-year warranty gives confidence in longevity ✔️ Fingerprint-proof brushed stainless steel keeps the exterior looking clean most of the time ✔️ Liner pocket is very handy — no more rummaging for bags ✔️ Quiet lid close (“lidshox” or “lid shox” tech) is a relief compared to bins that slam Cons ❌ Large footprint — takes up quite a bit of space, so not ideal for very small kitchens or tight corners ❌ Still needs occasional cleaning of the stainless steel; the “fingerprint-proof” coating helps but doesn’t make it totally immune ❌ The recycling compartment is smaller (24 L) so if you generate a lot of recyclables, you’ll empty that side more often Final Verdict If you have the space, this is an excellent bin for combining functionality, appearance, and durability. It handles daily trash and recycling well, feels premium, and keeps things tidy. For someone who wants a high quality kitchen bin and doesn’t mind the size, it’s a great investment. If space is tight, you’ll want to measure carefully before committing.

Nice looking, well designed bin.
This may sound daft, but it is a lovely looking bin! Actually though, it sits in view all of the time so you want it to look good. It came quickly and as it’s quite pricey I had to provide a one time code. It comes with 10 bags and a sample pod that disguises any smells. The pedal mechanism for opening the bin is intelligent and seems pretty robust so far - there’s electronic to wrong. It comes with a 10 year warranty so if anything does go wrong with the mechanism, support is there. The top of the bin hides the bag and top of the recycling caddy and this and the lid are both soft close. It does sit an inch or so away from the wall as the bags are stored on the back and can be pulled through the general waste side so the bin doesn’t need to be moved every time you replace a bag. I’m going to order the food caddy that can be added to the side as it looks good but at the time of writing this review it is out of stock. It has a coating that has so far been resistant to fingerprints as advertised. All in all, so far I like it, it is thoughtfully designed and I would definitely recommend it. I know it’s expensive but you get what you pay for.

Expensive - but solid, pretty and perfect for my needs
It’s a bin .... which took me 8 months to talk myself into buying ...even after I’d ordered it I worried that I had wasted my money. Thankfully when it arrived and I started using it I felt better about the choice. Yes it’s a LOT of money to spend on a bin. But it does what I wanted -handles significant amount of recycling and also takes a decent amount of ordinary rubbish. So it frees up my kitchen side from constant cluttering of plastics/glass/cans and atips the husband from moaning about the daily recycling runs with his arms full in and out of the house. I happily take the recycling bin out now - easy peasy and love that I only need to do this twice a week not every 3 hours :) the anti fingerprint cover on the stainless steel bin is amazing it really is. I have a few simple human products and love every one of them! So this has nothing disappointed me. Just hoping it lasts as long as the price tag justifies -but optimistic that it will. Love the bin and wish I had bought it sooner - hope it helps x

Expensive but very nice, solid, stainless and soft close lid.
This is an expensive bin, but it is good quality and looks great (if a bin can look great 😂). The little storage at the back of the bin for the box of liners is quite innovative, but I guess this is also to encourage you to buy their own liners rather than other makes, that said I think if you buy in bulk they are reasonably priced and would say they are much stronger than anything I have bought from a super market. It certainly wouldn’t look out of place in the nicest of kitchens. We bought this as we have just refurbished our kitchen and didn’t have space to integrate a bin in the units and due to this we wanted something that looked good and not out of place. This ticks all the boxes. If you can afford this I would definitely recommend.

Simplehuman quality never fails
So this is my 3rd Simplehuman bin. I did have different kitchen sizes, styles and needs thus have replaced - this one is probably my favourite. They are pricey but always, quality is great - doesn’t look cheap, fingerprint resistant and very smart tucked away liners. Only downside of this one is the stainless steel pedal is more prone to showing up dirt (from your slippers/shoes etc). Would’ve preferred a plastic pedal like my first Simplehuman bin. Also I think the capacity is lower - 58L refers to both recycling and normal combined, I think. Certainly enough for my needs, anyway, as I only want to empty once a week. Perfect bin for me, on balance!

Great Bin but poor quality control
Item arrived with a dent, for a £250 product i expect far better quality control. Aside from that, the item is well made.

Expensive but worth it
The bin isn't cheap but feels very sturdy and well made. I've bought numerous cheaper pedal bins and have always found they end up breaking easily due to poor design and always end up stinking/rusting from inside. We've had our bin 6 months and it still looks as good as when we first bought it. The hidden bin liner holder insider makes it perfect and easy to switch bins out, rather than faffing looking for the bags under the sink. Nice and clean design and despite the costly price tag it's well worth it

Lovely strong bin
Love it... this dual bin - recycling and rubbish, seems very strong - and heavy! I struggled getting it out of the box and lifting it. I was replacing a smaller Simple Human dual bin which was still great, but I wanted the one you can hook a food recycling bin on to it's side. The lid is very quiet - in fact I cannot hear it falling at all. It seems like it will last a long time as it is sturdy.

Sleek and thoughtful design
Perfectly sized dual bin, great for recycling! I contemplated for 3 weeks before taking the plunge after seeing all the positive reviews. This bin is simply sleek and sexy 🥰

Expensive but worth it to keep things neat and clean
Is $200 an insane amount to spend on a trash can? Absolutely yes. Is it worth the money? I’m sure that’s the question you’re asking right now. Honestly, I can’t tell you what is and isn’t in your budget but I can tell you that I love this trash can. It’s such a simple concept but there really isn’t anything else comparable on the market. Okay so the big question is, will it fit regular 13 gallon trash bags? Yes! Absolutely. The only caveat is that the 13 gallon bags are a bit wider so they don’t fit as snugly on top and they will therefore stick out a bit from the lip, so they won’t be hidden completely. We do pull the bags to bunch up in the inside corner so that they are a little bit more discreet (see my photos to see what I mean). But functionally they work just fine. Technically each side is tad smaller than a regular 13 gallon trash can, but not that much smaller and we always seem to fill up our 13 gallon bags to capacity. They are not fingerprint proof as the company claims. I have a toddler who gets fingerprints everywhere, and this is no exception. But a little all purpose spray and a rag will get rid of that. Speaking of that toddler, she is little and has difficulty using the step button to open. However, she has no problem just lifting up the lid with her hands, so she can still throw away her own garbage. We don’t use a liner in the recycling side but it’s very easy to take out and hose down to clean every once in a while. The only thing I wish was for Simple Human to make something like this but with three compartments, as our paper recycling is separate from cans/bottles. For now we are just using a cardboard box but I would love to have something like this to keep everything in one spot. Basically, I love this can and am probably crazy for spending so much on a garbage can, but I’d do it again because it’s really a great addition to our kitchen.
