Worked OK for one day and then stopped triggering the camera. Tried it on my other Sony a6000 camera and it was the same. It did focus the camera but it would not fire. Obviously a faulty unit. The seller was very quick to respond with a refund and a promise of a new unit from a different manufacturer, better quality. I will update this when I get a chance to use it. A trusted seller with great support and I stress that the fault was not his.UPDATE. Seller sent me another one and it works just as it is supposed to do. it also feels like it is better quality and the seller stated that he has a new supplier. So great value for a great product. I highly recommend this seller.

If you need one get one, a great addition to any photographer, works really well

I have left my original review intact below but I received a second shutter release to test after my complaint. This one works much better and fires consistently, so I have updated my rating to reflect this.The connection to the camera is a little weak, but this seems more a design issue with the interface than a problem with this particular shutter release. Gone are the days of the robust Canon RS-80N3 connection, so I guess I’ll have to factor in shutter cables breaking rather than lasting for many years.——After using the cable three times, I can no longer rely on this shutter release cable. Its shutter action is intermittent, which defeats the point of using a shutter release cable - I want it to reliably trigger the shutter. This product doesn't do that.Very poor product quality. As the saying goes, buy cheap, buy twice.

My husband only discovered that the remote for his old camera didn't fit his new camera when he went to use it on holiday, so needed a replacement. This does everything that the Sony remote does, but at less than 1/10th of the price! It seems well made, and the USB type connections are secure and solid. The controls work well, and are very responsive. This is well worth considering, if your budget doesn't run to Sony prices.

Excellent! And it doesn't even need a battery. The camera responds exactly as it would to a press on the shutter button, eg. if you set for continuous shooting, bracketing etc. that's what you get. Nor is it necessary to delve in 'settings' to make the thing work, just plug it in and away you go. None of this is true of I/R releases - although these also have their advantages. Buy one of each! The lists of cameras supported by the various different 'flavours' are worth studying carefully. I can confirm that the 'Sony' version works as advertised with my alpha 6000, not at all with my NEX5 (not on the 'supported' list) which it doesn't even fit as the connector is different.

This is a very reasonably priced shutter release which I use on my Sony HX400V. It works perfectly and can be locked off for doing long exposures. It also has a good cable length so you can stand well back from your camera set-up. No complaints at all.

Works great on my Sony Cybershot HX80. The only thing I should point out is that as it uses the multiport, you can't use this and mains power the camera at the same time (say of you were staking out some wildlife from the comfort of home). Other than that, works as expected, with part-press to focus and full press to take photos, plus a lock on.

Il pulsante ha anche il dispositivo di blocco per tempi di esposizione superiori ai 30” impostabili sulla fotocamera. Funziona correttamente, consentendo prima la messa a fuoco e poi lo scatto. Non si tratta di una cineseria perché la marca è ben nota ed io ho altri prodotti professionali che funzionano alla perfezione. La spedizione è stata impeccabile

This remote actually did work well and did have more range than my 2 YouPro YP-870 11 units, which were very short range indeed!

il n'a pas marché du premier coup mais au deuxième, apres que j'ai allumé/éteint un bouton qui provoquait des rafales de prises de vueil est compatible avec mon sony alpha 5000 et me permet de faire de la macro. sachant que je cherchais qche de simple, il est bien. Si c'était pour photographier des sujets vivants, le cordon ne permettrait pas de s'éloigner , mais pour de la photo d'objet, c'est bien, il a l'air solide.
