Excellent buy!
We're soon moving to a smaller house where space is limited, so I decided to buy this electric dryer, not only to save space, but to save on the electric bill, too. I'd seen that these have been highly recommended recently, so decided to take the plunge. I'm so pleased I did! I chose this particular model because it looked more sturdy than some of the others and offered lots of drying space. It's one of the best purchases I've made in a long time! Even though we haven't moved yet, we've already been using it, and it's brilliant. It takes a full wash load of clothes or towels, and a full set of bedding. For our king size bedding, we have to fold it, but even then, it still dries in good time. The ability to set how many hours you want the dryer on for and just leave it is so easy and worry-free. You can also delay when you want the dryer to come on, though I've had no need to use that option. It really is so easy to set up and put away, and is very sturdy once in place, and has several configurations, depending on how much washing you need to put on it. The only negative I can find is that the power cable could really do with being longer, which was a point made in the other reviews I read, so I was aware of the issue before I bought it.

Clothes dry after about 15 hours
**EDIT after a few months' use** I've got used to this now and have worked out that there are basically two options for this: 1. Hang a full load of clothes on the bars normally, like any other clothes-dryer, and put the cover on and heat for something like 15-20 hours. Everything will be pretty much dry after that. 2. Do more like a half-load of washing and spread the clothes out as much as possible in between the bars, rotate a couple of times, and it'll be dry in more like 8 hours. So, if you're in a rush, do the more faffy option, otherwise just stick it on and leave it for a while! Either way, it works - and means no condensation/tumble dryer. I still don't bother trying to do sheets on it, though! ---- I was disappointed at first because I was expecting clothes to be dry quite quickly, and it took a few goes to get the knack of how to use this. But now I understand how to get the most out of it, I'm pretty pleased. I can get a not-quite-full load dry over about 15 hours; I thought it'd be quicker but, given it's so cheap to run and doesn't involve condensation from the radiators (or having to have the heating on), I think this is fine and none of my clothes have smelt musty like they do when air dried without heat in winter. Folds away easily for storage. What seems to work for me is: - Extra spin of clothes in the machine after they've been washed - Lay thicker clothes flat-ish (with as much fabric as possible across the heated bars and the rest hanging in between them) on the top two racks while hanging thinner t-shirts/shirts on coat-hangers between the bars from the top rack, and only putting underwear/socks on the bottom rack (need to be draped as flat as possible, so I've been doing in batches) - Cover with the Lakeland cover (I tried just with a sheet and it was useless) and leave for 5 hours - Rotate the thicker clothes so damp parts are now on the heated bars, and rotate/swap bits at the bottom; recover and leave for another 5 hours - Rotate clothes again (and some bits will now be dry, leaving more space) and leave for another 5 hours. Clothes should be dry after that. Ultimately, I'd recommend this as an alternative to drying clothes on the radiator in the winter. It's a bit of a faff rotating the clothes but not a big deal. I do think sheets and towels are probably easier to do in a tumble-dryer, though. In warmer months, it should also be useful to finish off clothes that have been outside but aren't quite dry at the end of the day.

Delighted in every respect
This was a real treat for myself, I love buying things for my house and this has made drying the washing in the winter so much easier. Yes it is expensive but in a small house with no utility room it means I can put the washing on it (without heat) to dry in a spare bedroom, open the window a bit and the washing is dry in about 12 hours, then I plug it in to finish airing the clothes off. Plenty of room for drying/airing sheets, duvet covers etc. High quality and lots of drying space, the rungs and the shelves are well spaced, I bought the castors separately I thought necessary on a laminate floor to avoid any scratches. Fully assembled on delivery. Wish I had bought it years ago.

Great drier
So far I have been very happy with this. I bought it because of the Good Housekeeping recommendation and I haven't been disappointed. It is quite efficient at drying a large quantity of clothes. I have mine in a small utility room and I frequently run a dehumidifier at the same time this reduces the drying time substantially. I am on Octopus Agile tariff so in the early hours electricity is usually very cheap but only for a few hours. Just had to invest in a couple of timers. There is no assembly you just have to unfold it. There is a lot of hanging space and will take about three loads of the washing machine,(not turned it on because it was warm that week). Not sure what weight that is and the earlier loads had dried a bit, but no sign of bending. It folds up for storage but doesn't come with a case. If you buy the optional cover, that can be zipped up to use as a cover when folded. Not sure how long it takes to pay for itself over the savings from a tumble drier, but electric prices are only going to keep going up in the long run, especially as all new cars will be electric in the very near future. Apart from saving you money, you are helping the environment by using less electricity.

Great Equal / Consistent Heating
Wonderful product. It has heating on all racks and all layers and it gets really warm across all layers equally. It’s especially useful on the colder days when drying laundry is generally a challenge.

Waste of money
This is terrible! Please don't buy. Doesn't dry any thing bigger than socks! I bought the cover as well and that just traps in moisture so your clothes smell and you have to rewash. Do not waste your money.

Unwieldy with not enough flat space.
The drier is ok, it heats up quickly and certainly dries clothes. I chosevthe deluxe version because I knew I'd get annoyed with a low switch, and that I'd want to be able to add castors at some point. Its easy enough to work the convenient countdown timer, which beeps loudly when it reaches the end and the heat turns off. The folding mechanism is great, the shelf supports work well and the ability to only half unfolded is very useful. My main reasons for three stars are its lack of sturdiness - the airer is very wobbly. I hoped the captors would help, but they made it worse as they weren't very 'spinny' so it was awkward trying to wheel it about. I was also not terribly impressed with the load capacity - its recommended that laundry is aired flat on the shelves for best results. Well, with only 6 shelves in total, that doesn't give much space. Hanging the washing over the individual rungs obviously gives more capacity, but only dries the bits touching the heated elements. Its also very big - I didn't really consider where it would be kept when not in use. It doesn't fit in the understairs cupboard and I don't want it on display, so that's another problem I encountered. Personally, I don't think its worth the hassle and I'll probably end up returning it.
