'This Is All Yours' is the second album by English rock band alt-J, who comprise Joe Newman (guitar/vocals), Gus Unger-Hamilton (keyboards) and Thom Green (drums). They released their debut album 'An Awesome Wave' to critical acclaim in 2012. The album won the Mercury Music Prize in November 2012 and was nominated for British Album of the Year at the Brit Awards in February 2013, one of three nominations the band received. In May that year 'An Awesome Wave' received the Ivor Novello Album Award. Review: Brilliant 2nd Album - I came across the first Alt - J album, An Awesome Wave by pure chance, but it quickly became my favourite background CD for almost all things. I was excited to hear they had a second album coming out and have been patiently awaiting it's arrival. The snippets I had heard of the song 'Hunger of the Pine' only served to fuel the flames of excitement, but there is always the doubt that a follow up album whilst having a couple of good songs will be a complete let down. Alt-J did not fail to deliver, this album is everything and more than that I had hoped for, as like the last seamlessly blending together to create an all together pleasurable listening experience. I'm onto my third listen already! Well done Alt-J, well done indeed and thank you, really good music these days is hard to find :) Review: A band that grow on you - Alt-J have always been a band that grow on me. I first heard them because my brother was playing a song from 'An Awesome Wave' and originally I wasn't sure but I listened to a couple of others and then the entire album and a couple of weeks later I was hooked. The same is true of 'This Is All Yours', there are stand-out tracks as always but the album works best when listened through. Thoroughly enjoyable, and different, music.

An awesome wave of music
Even better than their first album An Awesome Wave. The songs grow better with 8 to 10 listens and then you just can't stop putting the CD on. I buy 3 or 4 CDs a month and this is highly likely to be my top album of 2014, if not in the top 3. A great mix of sounds and volume on most tracks. I've been waking up all this week with the track Nara in my head.

A unique and brilliant band
From the very first listen, Alt J's debut album 'An Awesome Wave' took my breath away and has rarely been off my CD player since. Needless to say, I was excited for the release of this second album. Despite the first single releases 'Hunger of the Pine' and 'Every Other Freckle' massively wetting my appetite for the second release, I can't help but feel a little disappointed with this new album. Although there are some stand out songs; including 'Nara' and 'The Gospel of John Hurt', the album does lack the drama and originality of 'An Awesome Wave', and the two singles cannot be beaten. 'Left Hand Free' is also a good stand out tune, but doesn't seem to fit in with the sound of the rest of the tracks. It was always going to be almost an impossible act to follow such an outstanding first album. I will still enjoy playing this one, and I am sure I will grow to love some of the other tracks, but you cannot help to draw direct comparisons between the two. I still maintain that Alt J are one of the best bands to come out of this country in the last few years, and their individual sound cannot be compared to anyone else out there. Their song production, imaginative lyrics and monastic sounding voices are completely unique. They are also an excellent live band.

A Great Follow-Up Album
What can I say? Brilliant comes to mind, but in my opinion not as good as "Awesome Wave". The quality of the pressing (even though it is coloured vinyl) is first rate and the album cover is thick, gate fold. If you like Alt-J and listen to vinyl this is a must buy. You even get MP3 download so you can listen via your PC when you're feeling lazy or doing housework.

Follow Up album delivers
I absolutely love this album. Was worried that they wouldn't be able to live up to the amazing Awesome Wave, but this truly delivers. The thing I love about Alt J is the fact that they are so different from other bands. They do their own thing to produce their own sound to amazing effect. Favourite tracks for me are Bloodflood Part 2 and Foothills, but the other tracks are close behind. Brilliant.

Brave, bold and weird second effort
This album is so varied and there's so much going on. It's pretty difficult to pick a favourite track, but 'The Gospel of John Hurt' is an atmospheric and exciting effort. The album builds on Alt-J's unusual debut An Awesome Wave and IMHO is actually even better. Give it a listen, and another one and another one and it eventually grows on you so much that it becomes essential listening. 5/5.

Superb second album.
It is a hard task to follow up a debut album like their's but with This Is All Yours they have crafted an album that continues to progress their unique sound. I was expecting the album to revolve around their singles but there are many other high points - Warm Foothils, for one, is a real treat.

Excelente
