Does anyone know if this will work with apm2.8 flight controller?

Apm 2.8 is arduino compatible you should have no problems.

Does this work with a micro:bit?

Yes but you will need a separate power supply to power to sensor. Needs 5v but 4.5v should work.

is the sensor waterproof??

I am looking to sense a movement of 1mm - is this switch that accurate?

We could not achieve that accuracy, but it is very dependent on surfaces and surface angles. We were trying to measure distances to people.
