Very happy with this Apple TV 4K. It’s quick, smooth, and does everything without lag or frustration. Apps load instantly, streaming quality is excellent, and the interface is clean and sensible — no ads shouting at you. Setup was painless and it works perfectly with other Apple devices, which makes everything feel oddly effortless. Two small complaints: the remote is still easy to misplace (it clearly enjoys hide and seek), and it’s more expensive than most streaming boxes. Neither changes how good it is to use. Overall, premium performance, rock-solid reliability, and once you’ve used it, cheaper streamers feel… compromised.

I was initially on the fence about getting an Apple TV, since we already have a smart TV and can theoretically access most streaming services through the TV’s OS. I finally decided to buy one after Netflix kept having trouble authenticating on the smart TV – and I don’t regret it one bit. First of all, there are small quality-of-life improvements I didn’t expect: The OS is so much smoother, prettier, and faster to navigate. The Apple TV app ties all your streaming services together and will tell you if a particular movie or series is available for free in one of your installed apps. Honestly, this is one of my favourite features – I no longer have to Google it or check each service manually. I can connect my AirPlay-enabled speakers and group them with the TV speakers (only works while streaming movies or series). It works as a home hub, letting you control your Apple smart home devices when you’re away. There’s a Steam Link app that lets you stream games from your PC over the internet. The experience depends on your home internet quality, but with an ethernet cable connected it’s great – just pair a supported gaming controller and you’re good to go. Overall, the Apple TV is a great little device that upgrades your home entertainment setup in so many unexpected ways. I’m really glad I bought one, and I wouldn’t go back.

The Apple TV 4K is superior to any smart TV OS, both in terms of performance and features with your existing Apple devices. The fact that when I am on the Home Screen or navigating in apps there is no advertisements is a big plus. Our Samsung TV while it has a great picture the OS it comes with is sluggish and full of advertisements so an upgrade was duly needed and the Apple TV 4K most certainly delivers on all fronts. Grab this wee box, it's well worth the price.

I truly believe that this is the best streaming device for any TV. I’ve tried a few, but this is so much more intuitive, working brilliantly with other Apple products too. It’s a synch to set up, especially if you have your iPhone, or iPad near by. Although smart TVs have so many of these apps built in, they load quicker and easier from Apple TV. Picture and sound quality is superb, with little to no lag on the latter. It’ll play anything from your iTunes library, but also photos and video too from iCloud. All in glorious 4K (if your TV supports that). All in all, it’s well worth paying a little extra - over similar products - for something that works so much better. Unlike many Apple products, it’s not vastly overpriced and when compared to similar products, it’s good value for money. The remote is much better than the previous generation, and appears to work well with the TV, as well as the device itself. It only requires charging through a USB-C cable a couple of times a year. All in all, it was a good buy. The only reason why I didn’t give it five stars was because there’s always room for improvement

Easy to set up. Works a bit like a Fire stick. Was up and running quickly and the remote is easy to use and feels high end. A great way to get the shows you want and the compatibility with other Apple products.

Apple TV is a quality product at a premium price.

I have a cabin in the garden where I retire to watch tv in peace on a 2021 model Samsung smart tv. The tv has developed a problem in that it struggles to stream anything with constant lock ups and buffering. I have checked the wifi and it's receiving a download speed of 39mb and it's all working fine. I have tried all the suggestions on the Samsung forums to no avail and was considering replacing the tv itself when it occurred to me to replace the faulty part only by buying an Apple tv box. Ironically I'm a former user of the early box and gave it up when smart tvs came along! Set up was as easy as plugging it in and selecting the appropriate input on my tv. Note that Apple don't include an HDMI cable. I'm using a spare Sky one and it's perfect. Once you've got the Apple tv screen up just place your iPhone next to the box and it sets up the box for you. Its a bit of a hassle downloading all your streaming apps from the App store and logging into each one but even that is a lot easier now with the help of your phone. Picture quality is just wow, I have a 4k tv but apart from the occasional 4k disc played through it I was not especially impressed by the picture quality but the 4k image from the Apple tv box is a big step up. The picture just sings with depth and sharpness and I'm so glad that I didn't replace the tv after all. I can't complete this review without mentioning the remote. I charged it before use but it would have helped to have a light indicating that it was charging. As with all things Apple the controls are quite intuitive but I'm not keen on the slide bit in the middle of the main dial. I also don't like trackpads so I'm probably biased. I tested the voice dictation feature using the Siri button on the side when the ITVx app asked for my postcode and it worked perfectly. If you have an older 4k tv somewhere in the house that is past it's best then this could give it a new lease of life. Get this version if you can afford the extra twenty quid as it has twice the storage.

Good Apple quality as experienced with 4K picture and sound supports Dolby Atmos via 4K supported AVR. Recommended model to buyers who looks for 4K with Atmos. Value for money.

Amazing product! I am not a techie, but I appreciate great audiovisuals that this small product provided! ChatGPT guided me on the whats and hows when I searched on how to elevate my movie watching experience in the comfort of my home, and how to set it up, this apple tv did just that! The positive reviews in here helped a lot too. Happy with my purchase, especially because I was sent the latest one. I confirmed the authenticity before opening the box, the tvOS however, can only be checked in the settings section once connected to TV, chatGPT confirmed it’s the latest one which has all the features I need, so my dolby atmos enabled soundbar is now sounding a lot better! Sad though that the airpod max I bought next was a beta/test version, I wanted a more personal, surround sound, but there’s no spatial audio feature because they’re not compatible in terms of firmware versions, so can’t enjoy the dolby atmos in the streaming apps I watch movie on.
