Beautiful, affordable lip stain with great color payoff!
The e.l.f. Cosmetics Glossy Lip Stain has quickly become one of my go-tos. It’s sheer but still very pigmented, and it’s surprisingly hydrating for a stain. The color payoff is fantastic and buildable, so you can go from a subtle tint to a bolder look easily. I love the berry red shade on my olive-toned skin—it complements it beautifully! Plus, at such an affordable price, it’s hard to beat. Great quality for a budget-friendly product!

Like it, not love it
I got spicy sienna and berry. The glosdy effect stays unless you eat, drink or wipe it off. Pictures in collage show how each colour looks when 1st applied with 2 coats, then if wiped off and at the bottom after an hour. These are transfer proof when wiped, but not long lasting as I expected. Colour can be build up. I compared size with a SHEIN lip stain. The stains didn't dry my lips,but I suggest exfoliating your lips and applying chapstick prior to using.

It's just ok.
Nice shine, but not much staying power. It feels a bit claggy on the lips and doesn’t deliver the stain effect it promises. More of a gloss than a tint—looks cute, but fades fast.

I wasn't ready for how much I'd like this
Lip stains have come a long way recently and this is the first lip stain with gloss I've tried. I wasn't prepared for how pillowy and soft it was on my lips. And I was shocked that there was zero transfer - I kissed my hand to test, drank coffee, drank water, etc - no transfer whatsoever. The color lasted about 1.5-2 hours before I needed to reapply, but that's only because I snack a lot. This product has great longevity over a traditional gloss which I'd reapply every 30 minutes or so. I love how little the tube is, it's super easy to tuck into a pocket or a purse. While the tube is small, you don't need a lot of product and I feel like this is going to last a long time. I'm buying more colors right now. IMPROVEMENT SUGGESTION: Please bundle the sale of this lip stain with a matching liner, to ensure a perfect color match. I think the stain would look even better with a matching liner.
