Lansky Sharpeners Outdoor Leather Stropping Hone available in Yellow

Fantastic item and actually really does work. ALWAYS STROKE AWAY FROM THE BUR I tend to reprofile my blades and stroke both ways, until it's razor then strop and polish to an ultra fine scary sharp edge. Use an angle right for your blade and it's a breeze to touch up and return to hair shaving sharp in just a minute or 2.

Once you get the hang of it which I did not too long after I sliced the tip of my finger off while using it. The knives I've sharpened have never been so sharp. Take your time using it and buy the mount so that it can be screwed onto an old chopping board or similar. My knives are sharp enough to shave with.

The strop is what I wanted but was disappointed it did not come with it's own guide rod

Easy to use if you already have the kit. I rubbed in a drop of honing oil a small amount of jewellers rouge and it polished the edge beautifully. Remember to only hone on the pull stroke if you push up you will cut into the leather

Of course the item works and of course it fits the Lansky system, but shame on Lansky for allowing an item to come out like this one did. There were two obvious high points of the strop that were lumpy high and caked in hard glue. Impossible to hone with it like it was. It took a lot of effort and patience to bring this so-called strop to what I would call flat and workable without any high points.

Item arrived fast and was as described and in good condition. I wouldn't order another one as it really isn't that good a item. It's already got cuts and marks in it and TBH a home made strop from a belt is far better.

Worked just like I wanted. I love the Lansky system and can always get my knives very sharp. With the white stone they are very sharp, but not like after I used the stropping hone. Really does make a difference I can see and feel. During use with the stropping hone I can see the blade changing to a mirrored finish. I just sharpened 7 knives this weekend and all of them shave hair easily when put to the test. Don't pay attention to people complaining about the size - it's the same size as other Lansky hones. Clearly those reviewers just think it's a strop and have no idea what the Lansky system is. Also, be careful to go the other way than the stone hones. ONLY USE GOING AWAY FROM THE BLADE. The product is exactly what I wanted and took my sharpening with the Lansky system to the next level.

After using the final step in the Lansky sharpening system, the extra fine stone (1000 grit) I loaded up this strop with Woodstock D2902 Extra Fine Buffing Compound, 1-Pound (Green) and the results were spectacular! Not only did I get a nice mirror edge but it made my old Swiss Army knife hair popping sharp! Highly recommend!
