Good buy!
Work perfectly and very easy to programme via existing controls. Item came without UK instructions but these were easy to find on the Hormann web site - obviously made for Eastern European market but work well in UK and about 50% of the price of the same unit if bought directly from the manufacturers.

Quality item, very easy to set up (instructions below).
I ordered this to replace the original remote that came with my garage door opener. My original was an HSE4-868-BS, which has 4 buttons, and I hesitated because this slightly cheaper one only has two buttons. It turns out that the '4' in the 'HSE4' part of the model number means it had 4 radio channels (potentially to operate 4 separate garage door openers). The '2' in 'HSE2' (this model) means 2 channels. Since I only have one door opener, two channels was plenty for me. If you're in the same situation as I was and wondering if this will work, don't worry - it will.Setup could not be easier. First, firmly pull and remove the plastic battery-saver tab. Then decide whether you want to program the remote from an existing, working remote or from the main unit inside the garage. To set up using another remote:Hold your old and new remotes side-by-side, choose a button on the old remote that you want the new one to learn; press & hold that button on your old remote till it flashes alternating red/blue. Still holding it, press and hold the button on your NEW remote that you want to learn that function. It goes through a sequence: solid blue, slow blue flashing, fast flashing blue, then off. That's it - your button is programmed. To set up using the main unit inside the garage:Locate and press the 'P' button on the unit (crescent-shaped button). Hold the new remote close to the button. Press & hold the button you want to program. The LED on the remote will go through a sequence, but ignore that and look at the red light where the 'P' button is on the main unit. Once it starts to flash rapidly, your button has been programmed.I repeated the programming steps for the second button on my HSE2 remote. This is optional, but otherwise I would just have a redundant button. Might as well have them both programmed in case one button fails in future.Hope this helps.

Remote was easy to transfer the code from existing old blue handset ...
item was not packaged and no instructions in English. a search of the internet located instructions. Remote was easy to transfer the code from existing old blue handset and works well. Did not necessitate the removal of the cover, just the strip activating the battery. seems to be more robust than the old one

Excellent product, no negative comments
Excellent product with a great range. For the techies I measured the RF output at -30dBm (yes 1 Watt) on a spectrum analyser.A couple of things to bear in mind areThe user manual is now in English (unlike the manual that came with one I purchased some time back), I also found a video on YouTube describing how to programme it from the door opener but, as before, this method did not work for me. Instead I cloned it using the simple procedure described in the user manual.

This is how I programmed mine from an old remote handset
First pair of these I bought about a year ago had instructions in English, but these didn't seem to be much use - possibly because we have older garage door controllers with a fixed 868 MHz code rather than a more modern rolling code which these handsets are capable of dealing with. Second pair ordered as spares due to unreliability of the old grey body/blue button original remotes arrived with instructions in numerous languages, none of which were English, so two stars withheld for that plus the fact that a small part broke off one when dropped a very short distance onto my desk. Much nicer than the old grey bodied Hormann remotes and buttons seem to work properly unlike those on the old grey bricks.Anyway - for those of you trying to work out how to programme your new remote from an old one, here is a description of what worked for me. Please note, this is ONLY for programming to use with a FIXED 868 MHz code on your garage door receivers. If you have newer doors than ours and have a rolling code, please ignore these instructions. I cannot comment on programming for rolling code doors. My instructions are a record of what I did that worked. I do not guarantee it will work for you. Instructions for FIXED 868 MHz programming from an old remote are as follows:Programming new Hormann garage door remote from existing one (works using either the old grey things or the smaller new remotes as the existing - or ‘teaching’ - remote).1) Pull out the plastic strip that isolates the battery on the NEW remote.2) Get a suitably thin but strong screwdriver to prise the back off the NEW remote. There’s a small notch at one end. Lift this end and slide the the other end out, away from the silver end. It feels as though it's going to break, but just keep levering slowly and gently and it does work. You might need the screwdriver again to lever it back into place when you replace the back.3) To set code to fixed 868 MHz for the garage door, rather than a rolling code for newer garage door receivers:a) Remove battery for at least 10 seconds.b) Press one of the two small circuit board buttons and keep it pressed.c) Re-insert battery while keeping button pressed.d) Wait while the LED on the circuit board flashes through blue/red and keep holding button down until LED flashes rapidly in RED and then stays RED for a long time. Let go of button when it finishes this.4) Put the cover back on the new handset. Now you have the handset ready to accept programming from your old handset, whether it is an old grey handset or a previous smaller BiSecur HSE2 handset. Worked with both for me. Leave it alone for a few minutes while you bandage your fingers. I'm almost certain the rest of the instructions worked after a rest, but failed when I tried them immediately.5) Keep new 'learning' BiSecur handset on left and old 'teaching' handset on right. Press and hold a button on the old handset until the red LED lights up. Immediately press and hold the corresponding button on the new handset until it goes into RAPID red flashing mode and then goes out. Release buttons on both handsets (release old one first if anything).6) Repeat instructions at 5, above, for any other buttons you wish to clone to the new handset, ie - press corresponding buttons on both handsets, assuming you want to allocate the same door to the same button on each handset.Ignore some online instructions you can find that suggest you need to aim the old and new handset head to head. I tried this as well as other options. I found the old handset on right, new handset on left format indicated in the Hormann instruction book worked fine.

Poor quality build. Breaks apart with a drop of more than 40cm.
Works well and easy to set up but for 40 a throw incredibly fragile. We’re already on our 4th set.

Easy and it works.
Very fast delivery. Quite easy to program, to replace the older ‘square’ version which broke. Definitely worth reading the reviews below or You Tube to get it right first time.
