Daughter bought full size game in first lockdown and we quickly got addicted. Easy to learn and play but with a competitive edge as you try and guess who has certain tiles and hold own back to secure a double line and maximum points. She took it to uni so i bought travel version as cheaper but actually prefer as can take anywhere as so compact, about size of a book. All the tiles are made of wood which is lovely in this age when we try get away from plastics and feels like quality. The travel version doesnt have the stands to hold your tiles in but we just stand them in a semi circle to hide from other players and works well. This travel version is better too as can play in a smaller space - full size tiles need a dining table size space to play as spreads wide, this version can work on a coffee table well.

I have worn out 2 sets of Quirkle. Only because we have played so much the paint eventually rubs off. I think a each set has lasted 7 years. We mix the new set up before turning over the pieces now a days. The travel set is good because it takes up less room. A good game for 2 players. I am sure this game can be played by at lots of levels. My partner though is very competitive and has strategies to beat me , 3 times out of 4. I am getting better. 1. Know which pieces to save. This means keeping an eye on what pieces are yet to show up, what Quirkles have yet to be made or any other types of point scoring moves available. 2. Really study the board for moves. 3. Don't be too quick to block off potential Quirkles. 4. Most importantly, sort out your end-game, be the first to get rid of your pieces. On a more basic level its a nice way to spend time off screens making shapes patterns and points

Brilliant Game. Quick and easy to learn

This is a great game and I was very pleased with the quality of the small painted wooden tiles. In essence, you have a hand of six tiles and take it in turns to place a tile on the table, matching its neighbour tile by colour or shape. Looks very simple but can be quite tricky. I've only played three games but I love it. There are two reasons I have not marked it as 5 stars. The first is because there are no little stands included to keep your tiles on. When you have a card game, it's easy to keep your cards in fan in one hand. No so with small tiles and if you stand them on edge, one nudge to the table means they fall over with your opponent possibly seeing them. To remedy this, I had to go hunting. You can buy racks for the game from America but the P&P is horrendous - it was over $20 for those I was looking at. I found some cheaper long wooden ones from China that I will trim down to size. The second reason is that the difference between the orange and red tiles can be quite difficult to see. My partner has to ask me each time what colours the tiles are before he can play them, which rather spoils it. My quick fix for this is going to be using a black marker pen and putting a dot in the middle of all the orange tiles, so he can easily tell them apart. These really are two minor niggles in an otherwise fantastic game. 24/05/2021 Edit - I used a black permanent marker pen to put a small dot in the centre of every orange tile and it worked a treat. No confusion now between which tiles are red or orange.

Bought this game on the basis of reviews. It is a great game. We love it. Tiles are pleasingly environmental (made of wood)and it comes in a lovely little travel pouch. The game itself is easy enough to learn but there are layers of play to it that gradually build the more you play. I would recommend. You don’t need language to play this so it’s international. You do need a little notebook and pen/pencil. It would have been nice to have tile racks as the tiles would then tilt back slightly allowing you to see colours clearly. However it doesn’t spoil the game. We have growing grandchildren and I think this game will also be easily accessible to them once they are of an age.

This is a really great game - simple enough to easily pick up and enjoy, but not so hard that you lose interest half way through. Definitely suitable for all ages and a must if you like others such as triominoes.This is the travel version so has less pieces, but it comes in a very cute little zip bag with a handle and will fit snugly in to a suitcase, which is exactly what we wanted it for. The aim is to match colours and shapes within a set of basic rules whilst using up all your pieces - straightforward but good fun! This is well made and good quality so will last for ages without the design wearing off through use. 5**** and well worth buying.

Meine Frau und ich haben bereits das 2. Spiel in der Mache, weil der Lack auf dem ersten bereits sehr verblasst und teilw. abgeblättert ist. Da sind wir bereits beim ersten Kritikpunkt: die Farbe blättert ab, vielleicht gäbe es ja einen besseren Lack, aber immer noch besser als Plastikspielsteine. Der 2. Kritikpunkt bezieht sich auf die Qualität des Beutels, in den man im Spielverlauf immer wieder hinein greift. Die Nähte lösen sich nach kurzer Zeit auf. Das ginge definitiv besser. Das ist für mich aber noch kein Grund zur Abwertung, weil die Grundidee einfach zu gut ist. Dieses Spiel von uns seit fast 2 Jahren täglich gespielt und erfüllt alle unsere Bedürfnisse an ein Spiel: Easy to learn, hard to master. Es hat einen Zufallsmoment. Es dauert ca. 40 min. und es entsteht immer nebenbei ein schönes Muster. Ich spiele es am Liebsten zu zweit. Zu viert z. B. ist mir Doppelkopf lieber.

Great game for all ages, this Quirkle game is small enough to fit into carryon luggage, though small the tiles are easy to see.

Questa versione da viaggio è comoda e portatile. Rispetto alla versione con le carte è dotato di una custodia in tessuto davvero ben fatta. Le tesserine sono di legno, leggere e trasportabili. Il gioco è divertente e adatto per un momento tranquillo. Non è un gioco che crea confusione o un party game da fare con tante persone.

Atencion, las instrucciones vienen en inglés. Muy entretenido. Jugamos niños a partir de 6 años y adultos. Nos encanta. De momento jugamos sin puntos y con las fichas destapadas y, aún así, nos resulta muy entretenido. Muy bueno el estuche de viaje (bolsa de tela acolchada), mejor que otros formatos de juegos de viaje en cajas de cartón o metal: - Dura más: no se dobla, ni se parte ni se abolla - Se adapta mejor a bolsas y maletas

Un jeu parfaitement adapté aux petits 6+, et aux adultes. Facile. Les petites pièces sont parfaites pour apporter en voyage.
