This game is amazing I got it for my 11 year old daughter ...
This game is amazing I got it for my 11 year old daughter for her birthday, she loved the sims 3 and really wanted to try the Sims 4. She loves this game I mean people who have given this game 1 stars are just being stubborn for it being like the Sims 2!Anyway... I decided that I would try this game for myself, as she said it was wonderful... I'm going to go through many points with this review that will help you get a start of the game.Create a sim.Great a sim is wonderful I love it... Yes, there may not be a colour wheel to choose any colour but they give you a good chose of colours so I'm happy with that. You can move there body parts with just holding down the mouse and pulling in/ out. They can have tiny wastes, small eyes, tiny nose, long neck and ect.The hair choices aren't massive but they and very pretty hairstyles I mean they're are probably 20-30 hairstyles so their is plenty! The hair colours can be in purple, pink, pink , brown and a couple other coulers that I cannot remember.Their skin tone can be blue green then humane tones.I love how they have now let you choose how you want your sim to walk: swagger, feminine, snooty and ect.Of course they also added how you want your Sims voice can be.The age groups is - baby, kid, teenager, young adult, adult and elderly. Unfortunately they didn't add toddler which is a shame but what you could do with the toddler such as tickiling and stuff you can still have the baby.Well i think i have coverd everything with the create aeasierBuilding toolThe building is so much easier, you can have half wallls and the reason I mention that is because it can just separate a room just ever so slightly other than having a big stuffy wall... What I did is I had a kitchen made a half wall and had a living room.

Would buy again!!
I waited ages to buy the Sims 4 as the Sims 3 let me down in terms of glitchy gameplay, while spending so much money on all expansions repayed me with a terrible, slow and crashing pc.The sims 4 runs so smoothly on my computer unlike the sims 3 with 5 second loading screens.New edition to the game is emotions based sims great addition to the gameplay, makes for more interesting desiresas well as emotion based interactions which makes every moment more dramatic including cashing in on making the most of certain inspired moods for points. Sims seem to spontaneously play up to free will using the current emotion all the time, which i find interesting if that be flirty to chat up the nearest sim with the flashest pick up line.Perks:-being able to own your on buisness- great smooth graphics and gameplay- new interactions and emotions which I can take advantage of-travel between neighbourhoods- sims can multitask which is great- quick loadingCons- sims can be very moody and emotion focused- needs more contentIt is missing a lot of content which was avaliable in The sims 3.-Open world aspect- weather-expect more from sims 4- less loading screens - not that they bothers me but it is a bit weirda lot of content was in the sims 3 that i loved such as supernatural, seasons and pets are missing in the sims 4 still. But im guessing they are limiting some stuff because of how buggy The sims 3 was. Overall, now I would suggest to buy this game. I think this should had been how the sims 3 started off. If the sims 3 didn't work for you. give it a try! Or if you are curious

A few good ideas, but could have been better
I'm a bit late to the Sims franchise as I wasn't able to afford any of them until I was well into adulthood, I've also played them out of order… Sims 1, then 3, followed by 2, and now 4. This is going to be a long review which I hope helps in your decision about plunging into EA's expensive gaming land of The Sims.Creating a SimFor actually shaping a Sim's body, there are a multitude of combinations with the new click and pull CAS system. Once you get the hang of it, it's actually faster to make the sim which suits your imagination than the slider menus of TS2 and TS3. Another new option recently patched to the CAS is the ability to mix “masculine” and “feminine” clothing, voices, and walk styles for any sim.But it feels really crappy making a sim with a very unique body, then having only a small pool of colour options for hair and a handful of colour templates for each set of clothing. The advanced colour wheels and tools of TS3 are gone. If you're someone who wants to make an entire family who are all purple from head to toe just for fun or create your favourite TV/cartoon family, the new CAS system will not do you any favours. There is no more toddler life stage so the youngest sim you can make from CAS is child level. If you're someone who likes to make big families with a diverse amount of age groups or if you just miss seeing your adult sims playing with their toddlers, you're out of luck. I think there's much less play interactions between TS4 kids and adults in general compared with previous base games. The options for playing even between children are severely limited as well unless you plan on buying the kids stuff pack.Teenagers look almost identical to adults. Sometimes it's even hard to spot elders out of the crowd during gameplay. If you're coming straight out of playing TS3, your sims will appear much more indifferent to ageing now.Sim AI & TraitsIt's a lot more fluid to take care of their own needs with the multitasking system. Now you can have a sim listening to music while having a drink and talking to their partner. This is very cool and realistic until they get the dreaded “musical chairs” affliction where they basically can't stay in their seat for longer than 5 seconds before moving to the next chair… and the next chair… then the couch in the other room...And I still don't know if it's a bug or on purpose, but sims just don't seem to focus on anything anymore. It's like their AI priority is intent on filling up their available multitasking queue actions as quickly and often as possible rather than just letting the sim be and settle into doing something. It's hard building relationships because the conversation could be going great and the sim will still wander off to do something else after only a few seconds. Keeping more than two sims together and doing the same thing is a pain. If you're just playing a single sim then you probably won't notice this as much since you can simply cancel its actions and get it back on track. But with a large family or group this becomes very tedious and confusing in a short period of time. Multitasking was a much needed addition to the AI, but the programming needs some major tweaking. The new emotion system is okay. It's nice to see things like a sim having a harder time flirting when they're uncomfortable or looking depressed even though they're dancing in a crowd. These emotions are super fickle though… A sim will go from happy to tense to flirty in like 10 seconds. It takes epic amounts of micromanaging to keep their mood consistent. Interactions are much more realistic looking, but the reactions are not as diverse as TS3 or even TS2. The sims themselves all have basically the same personality since everyone now has the same reactions and emotions to everything. I believe this is because of a couple of changes...The traits have been streamlined from TS3 which was a good idea in theory because some of them were kinda useless, but they added some quite funny interactions and defined your sims as individuals. Those personality quirks are gone. No more fainting cowards at any sign of trouble, neurotic sims checking for leaky sinks, brave sims tackling robbers, or daredevlis being pleased about fires. What traits are left in the base game of TS4 don't appear weighted enough to affect their personalities. For example, I completely forgot my sim with the mean trait was even mean as that behaviour happens so rarely. She occasionally gets desires to be mean, but never follows through with it on her own accord. My sims with the neat trait still clean the same amount as other sims without it. Sims are now only allowed three traits to start as an adult and bonus traits from aspirations, but the bonus traits are just added buffs which really only affect your sim's skillset.Granted, this only matters if you play with your sims' “free will” setting on and believe traits were a good addition to the sims to begin with as the first two games of the series had points systems.Houses & BuildingIf you've watched any gameplay videos or trailers already for TS4, I'm sure you know how much the building system has improved. You can pick up whole rooms and move them on your lot, place pre-built rooms, and everything in general is just a lot more intuitive (except roof building, again). Items and furniture are well designed and interesting, everything one expects from a Sims game. The only negative I can think of is everything looks a little too new and normal. I was trying to build a run-down looking shack house for a poor family and I just could not find anything to do it with in the base game collection. The previous games and their expansions/stuff packs seemed less afraid to add items that looked broken, weird, or old… It gave you a lot more options for creating your sims' world. There's a very “successful young professional” type aesthetic to TS4. Hopefully a bit more diversity gets added in later expansions. Personally, I've been hesitant to buy any of the stuff packs because I still haven't really seen much deviation from the current aesthetic. That is my personal opinion based on my gameplay style, so take that with a grain a salt. The WorldHow sims move throughout neighbourhoods and between lots now is rather disappointing. TS4 runs smoother than TS3 because it's not trying anymore to run an “open world” with a ton of background scripts built in a 32-bit engine, but it lacks the immersion of TS2 or even TS1. I could deal with a loading screen when, as in TS2, my sim gets into their little car and chugs along on the street before loading their next adventure. Now my sims kinda just disappear immediately or run away on a long street before vaporising into thin air. It's very creepy seeing neighbours walk into the yard, stop to stretch, take a few steps past the house then disappear like their soul has been dragged from that plane of existence. I wish they would at least wait until they're off screen before this happens. It was weird enough seeing that in TS2, why is this happening again?Instead of zooming into at least an animated top view of neighbourhoods between travelling, neighbourhoods are now crappy drawn 2D images which look very out of place for the quality of the rest of the game. The map images look like they were pulled out of a cheap app or lazily made flash game. One positive is there are no more rabbit-holes, but the neighbourhood aspect could have been better designed considering the tech Maxis has access to now. There is no excuse for having a loading screen to walk directly across the street to the neighbour's house. If you loved the open world of TS3, you'll miss following your sims along a bike ride or taking a quick peak through neighbours' windows while your chosen family is sleeping. The loading screens between each location will drive you insane. If you loved TS1 and TS2, you'll be saddened by the lack of attention given to immersion which made the many loading screens feel not so intrusive and the fish-bowl-like environment feel less, er... Fish-bowl-like. There are no more burglars, firemen, or police. Other sims don't leave roses at your sim's door after a good date, the flowers just appear off screen in your inventory now. No social bunny dropping out of the sky. No newspaper. There is no story progression setting at this point in time for TS4. Sims you aren't playing do not have new babies. Families just kinda age and die off, if they're not deleted by the game before that happens anyway. Story/family progression has always been an issue in all the sims games which TS3 attempted to rectify with varying results, but I guess Maxis just kinda gave up on that entirely in TS4. This is something usually modders would tackle, but with EA releasing automatic patches which change the internal game structure every time, the sims modding community is terribly strained.ConclusionI highly recommend you play the free 2-day gameplay demo (not just the CAS demo) from Origin before making your decision to invest in it. You'll have to install Origin anyway just to run the game even if you have the discs. Also, do not buy TS4 used! Origin only recognizes unused serial numbers to play and ties it into your specific Origin account. There are a few really cool ideas in TS4 so I do enjoy playing it occasionally, but it lacks the freedom of TS3 and the charm of TS2. If you're absolutely new to the Sims franchise, then you'll enjoy this new addition much more than most long term sim folk.Sims 4 is for you if you want to play with single sims or small families, not move between too many lots/neighbourhoods in game, don't mind micromanaging when it comes to your sim's emotions, want an easy to approach house building system, and care more about the size of your sim's hips than the colour of their hair or clothes. If you want to do generation/legacy challenges, create more fantastic styles or themes, explore the sims' world more easily or at least have more immersive transitions between lots, create sims with big personalties and who age more believably… Pick up either TS3 or TS2.Pick up TS1 if you just want to know how all this jazz got started.
