Has anyone tried this game with a just turned 4 year old?

I've played this with a few younger children in our Fun Learning stores - the youngest being a very switched on 3 year old who delighted in playing out the story using the path pieces to solve the puzzle. I would highlight that younger children will need some adult help to engage with this puzzle initially. You'll want to read the cute story book to them, then introduce them to the little red riding hood, wolf and path pieces and how they work (do try to resist solving the puzzles for them you can have a go once they've gone to bed!) but that once engaged, the children I played the game with loved it.

I would like to purchase this for a non-English speaking child. Are the instructions/storybooks in English, or are they in a comic book style?

The rules are duplicated in over a dozen languages but theyre pretty simple anyway. the comic and the setup instructions for each level are just pictuers, no words at all.

Does this have a lid so all the pieces are kept together or does it have to stay in the box?

You need to keep it in the box, the box itself is only a little bit bigger than the board so even if it did come with a lid it would still be roughly the same size.

Probably a stupid question but very generally speaking would a 4 year old boy like this? Not sure my godson is in to red riding hood?!

Manufacturer recommended age: 4 years and up,surely if he knows the fairy tale it is perfect
