Arrived a day early very happy with it

For those of us growing up in the sixties, a phenomenon arose in the shape of a talking Great Dane; gone were the tired extremes of animal comedies in the form of Tom & Jerry; Bugs Bunny et al. Here was a series the viewer could actually get involed in; a detective series that had us all trying to work out the clues ahead of time and an element of horror providing a frisson to the experience. Although not every episode in the series went down to become a classic in the annals of time; this is by far the best compilation available and a mandatory purchase for those that have never grown up. Watching the series with my grandaughter, I was surprised at how fresh the series remains, with all of the episodes comming back to mind and even seeing two for the first time!! The only problem is that it looks as if I will be losing the discs the next time she visits as she thinks "Gramps" is the only one who can supply her Scooby fixation. A treat for young an old as the cliche goes, but in this case well warranted.

This took me right back to my childhood. I’m not sure when Scooby Doo first aired in England but I remember being hooked from the first time I saw it. I actually bought this for my grandchildren to watch. The fact I could watch it with them was a huge bonus. Thankfully they also love the show! Consequently, there are now four of us, ages from 4 years old to 64 years old watching the show together. It is WONDERFUL!

Anyone who is a fan of Scooby , this is a must have !! People have said before that the color was faded or distorted but THAT is NOT the case with mine. You have to remember this came out way back so for the age of the 60/70's to be transferred as good as it was , was BRILLIANT! Sound is awsome. But if you are looking for the set of the rest ofthe 70's it is in the Scooby Doo & Dynomutt Hour: The Complete Series . I did not know that but this is still a must have if you want to start somewhere. I watched every single episode of this as a kid and it was just as good on this DVD as it was or me then BUT .... NO FREEKING COMMERCIALS ...YAY! Came well packaged and on time and for a great price to boot so I could get the other one I wanted of Scooby and Dynomutt if not for Scooby alone but an added on the Dynomutt series, even if some think Dynomutt is a tad corny. You have had to have lived in the era to appreciate them both and get them both you won't be sorry.

Great Disc set. My 3yr old loves it. has around 20 episodes in all. Its over 30 years old, but still quite unique and easy fun to watch.

A trip back memory lane, yet these old cartoons are just a massive hit with my 8 and 4 year old kids. I never forced them to watch these, in fact we tried the up to date versions too, but these oldies are the ones of choice for my kids. I don't know why, perhaps it's the non-threatening nature of the story telling, while still somehow scaring my kids (slightly), which gives them a thrill and a happy ending. Maybe modern cartoons move too quickly on the dialogue and storytelling, while these originals always have a nice slow interlude in the middle when Velma or Fred slowly explain the unravelling mystery, and so perfect for small kids to understand. I'm not sure what the magic is, but old drawings and rubbish animation is more than made up for by loveable characters and Daphne is as gorgeous as ever.

Unfortunatley the item arrived with the broken case but Amazon solved the problem. And also the dvd cover is diferent than the one displayed here. But it's the same content and it's one of the animation dvds that i was looking for to add to my collection. Too bad that they dont have a dvd set region 2 with all the 3 seasons because i cant find the season 3 dvd with region 2 . A great cake that needs the cherry on top. I wich the season 3 was included even if i had to pay a higer price. But altough great collection at a great price too... Im happy with this set. But it's a shame i cant get the full collection...
