Great diagnostic tool from a brand leader, worth the extra money!!
Fantastic diagnostic tool, found my two faults within seconds of plugging in. Very easy to use, its worth spending a little extra and buying a 'manufacturer specific' tool, which this is, it simply reads the VIN number when pugged in and knows exactly what model of car it's interfacing with. The benefit of this is it not only comes up with the error code, but gives a brief description of the fault on the display so you don't have to look up the fault. The tool will also allow you to turn off the fault light, remmeber the fault is still present and will need fixing, the handset will also check your emissions and carry out a full diagnostic check on the vehicle. It's very simple to use and has just three buttons; I/M, enter/exit & scroll. It has a colour display which is very easy to read and legiable. Autel is a market leader in diagnostics and some of their tools cost thousands and are used by professional mechanics. Highly recommended and worth the extra money!!

Good product for the price.
Good quality product for identifying both generic and manufacturer fault codes via the OBD2 port for diagnosing most vehicle issues.

Can point you in the right direction when the garage is asking to much for something simple.
Straight forward and simple diagnostic tool for when you have a gremlin in your engine. I got my brother one of these because of the plug- in and go approach this tool has. I updated the unit very easily when I first go it and found that it runs on pretty much anything with an OBDII connection including early fords when they had not standardised the protocols yet. after clearing all the old faults from my car and running the tests, I was able to track down an unknown issue of my throttle position sensor being out of alignment and then gained some additional acceleration out of the exercise. Very little to go wrong with this and unlike the Blue-tooth variants, you do not need a phone to get results. If you have ABS and traction control issues, go for the 519, as this one does basic Engine, Airbag and service stuff. It does show you all the engine telemetry if your car has the sensors for it and the list of supported sensors on this is adequate for the weekend mechanics out there.

Impressive gadget
Recently, although there was no obvious engine fault, the EPC light lit up on my dashboard and a the car went into "limp mode" which basically makes it unuseable because max speed is about 18mph. A friend loaned me a pretty old, basic OBD scanner and I was able to "erase" the fault code and restore normal performance. Impressed, I decided to buy an OBD scanner- just in case. The Autolink AL319 is a great choice because its inexpensive, scans codes for most makes of car and best of all it tells you what the fault codes mean. Glad I bought it because two days later the EPC warning reappeared so not only was I was able to clear the fault code, but now I also know what needs to be fixed on the car.

Small handy basic code reader with live data function
This OBD 2 reader does what it stated on the tin and a good price for what it does. Note some mechanical knowledge is needed to understand what DTCs it can be read and what a DTC means, This will not fix the car for you or supply every DTC that may be logged in the vehicle, this mainly reads DTC from the main engine ECU (emission related) I've Used the tool on many vehicles petrol and Diesels Reads DTCs and show live data what can be used to assist with diagnostics This is a handy small unit ideal for mobile basic use.

Honest review no bull
Decent bit of kit for the money , first thing I did upon receiving the tool was update it I found this abit of a palava , you don’t get a software disc in the package like you do with the older ones , you download the software from autel’s website and then update the tool through the software, initially the software download file wasn’t working but after a few attempts managed to get the software installed once this was done the rest was a doddle , the tool it’s self is easy to navigate, the display is clear , and the tool is quick to load and respond , the cable is a little on the short side which isn’t a major drama but if your obd port is in the drivers or passengers footwell it’s hard to get the tool into a position where you can see it whilst sat in one of the front seats . These are very minor issues though and frankly for the money I don’t think you will find another scan tool that will match it, overall I was very impressed perfect little tool to go in your tool box , would buy again and would recommend to others

Fine, with major limitations and minor irritations
The device does its basic job of reading engine error codes, but with an annoying limitation: For me, the most stringent limitation was the restriction of the built-in manufacturer-specific codes to vehicle models sold in the US, meaning the complete absence of any Peugeot (my car), Citroën and many others. Once you have set the manufacturer to "other", all you get are the "raw" codes, with no description and no option anywhere ever again to set up the vehicle make other than a factory reset. I never seem to get any "Freeze Frame" data other than the code itself. I know that this is not a problem with the car's ECU, because I got such data from my garage before. I find it irritating that the tool appears to fail once you go back to the top-level menu and try to select another function. It will try to re-establish connection with the car, and give a "Vehicle Linking Error". Only disconnecting and reconnecting it will help at this stage, In general, linking to the car seems a fraught process. I found that it works most reliable when plugging in the device with the ignition off, then selecting one of the functions "OBDII/EOBD" or "Ready Test" and only then, after the linking process has begun, turning on the ignition, but not starting the engine.

Picked this for Ecosport and it works just fine. Works without any fuss, just plugin the OBD scanner slot and you are good to go.
