Semi easy screen replacement...
I unfortunately dropped my M1 MacBook from my lap about a year ago. It was a fall of about one foot but it landed right on my desks metal crossmember. This gave my screen vertical lines which progressively increased over time. I lived with it for a bit but ultimately put the MacBook into retirement for a while. I looked into getting a geniuine screen replacement but couldn't find or locate one for less than $300. Which would be close to half of what I originally paid for the MacBook Air.I decided to gamble and pick one of these up and although the installation was a little bit tedious I was able to complete it within 30-45 minutes while watching a video I searched online. The tool kit was adequate to get the job done but does feel a bit cheap. So far it's a solid replacement and looks identical to the original.I did do a diagnostics test per apple and it did come back saying the following: "There may be an issue with your display Reference Codes: VFD001" and "There may be an issue with the ambient light sensor Reference Codes: ALS001". That being said the screen functions very nicely. Even with those diagnostic codes I doubt one would be able to tell the difference between this screen and the original. One thing I noticed is it might not be as bright as the original, but it's truthfully hard to tell. It's more than bright enough for me as I usually turn my screen brightness down quite a bit. The only flaw I notices was on the bottom right corner of the screen there is a very very very small red pixel. I have to be looking for it to really notice it but it's there. All and all, I'm very happy with the screen especially for the price. I will also update my review in the future if anything changes. Fingers crossed it will last the life of the Mac.

Perfect solution, works brilliantly and the instructional video is top notch
One of my kids broke my wife's Macbook Air's LCD and, although the computer itself was working perfectly the screen was damaged. Apple quoted around $500 to replace it, an independent shop quoted $760 + labor, and since I would likely buy a new one ($950 @Costco) vs paying those prices I decided to give it a try even though I'm not super-skilled in these type of things. The video explaining the process is GREAT, and very step by step. The screen provided is perfect and looks original from the outside, the computer looks brand new. The tools provided help a lot although they're not the best quality you can find, but for that 1 job they served well.

Great product!
So my cat chewed a hole in my screen, and my MacBook was brand new but the screen was ruined. I called multiple professionals to see how much it would cost to get fixed and they all range from 500-600 which is basically what i paid for the Macbook. it did not come with the correct tools but the process of putting the screen on was so easy! It took maybe 20-30 minutes and the video guide was great! I can barely notice a difference it’s working so wonderfully! I haven’t had any issues at all.

Camera doesn't work…STOPPED WORKING IN WEEKS
Install was easy, other than the screws being super small and my eyes not being what the used to be. The image is clear, and I don't have a problem with the brightness at all...it is plenty of bright. And who wants to have their screen on full brightness anyway? I have no desire to burn my eyeballs from staring at a super bright screen. Some reviews mentioned that TrueTone still worked. Mine does not. There is no option for TrueTone on the display settings now.The only other problem so far is that the camera doesn't work. The green light comes on, but it doesn't stay lit for more than a few seconds, then it goes off, then back on and so forth. Facetime will not pull up a picture (it says no video detected from camera) and I also tried image capture and Zoom, and the camera will not work with any of them.So that's disappointing, especially because I really don't feel like taking it apart again to replace it again. So if you don't care about the camera working, this display seems to be just fine. Time will tell...Well, less than a month later it completely stopped working. Trash. Don’t buy.

I thought this wouldn't work.
I read and read, watched youtube videos, and looked at reviews of several screens to replace on my macbook. Why are some screens $20 more? Why are some $40 more? Will my camera still work after I replace the screen? Is it really going to take me 15 minutes? Those screws are TINY and my hands are very large. My eyesight may not even see the screws once they're on the table. Oh well, I don't want to pay $800 for a new screen when I can just buy a new macbook for $795. I thought I'd gamble the $200 and see what happens. I replaced my iphone screen and and now I no longer have the ability to use my fingerprint (I have to log in with a passcode...like a caveman), so I expected maybe a screen, maybe blurry, maybe the camera will be upside down or make me look bald or something.Well, it all worked perfectly. Even better than I read about or watched on youtube. The guy on youtube was awesome, ubergeeks, and even he had some trouble with screws, getting the wifi cables plugged in. Nothing serious, he just didn't get them on the first try. I did. I got lucky. Wow was it easy. And everything works!!! Like it was the original screen. I am so amazed, relieved, and thankful. I highly recommend this to anyone who can build an ikea bookshelf on their own. Same difficulty, smaller scale.

Simple replacement, additional tools suggested
I was unsure of how this screen would look and work compared to the original screen on my laptop. I figured I'd take the gamble on this screen for a fraction of the cost of taking it to apple to fix, and I definitely recommend it if you are up for the challenge.I found the video from UberGeeks extremely useful and was able to replace the screen in about 30minutes.I do recommend a higher quality set of screwdrivers and bits, and a magnetic pad is nice to keep all the screws organized and from rolling away.I replaced the screen over a month ago and have seen no issues with color the display at all since then.
