Loving these natural mineral paints. Some glittery, some smooth and some granulated, they mix well with other watercolour ranges and the colours are true to their natural mineral. This set has a good range of colours to start with. They have inspired me to look into making my own pigments from other crystals and elements of nature.

Very attractive and unusual granulation. I bought these as my first trial of the highly acclaimed watercolours from Daniel Smith .... and yes, they are worth it Expensive, but only small amounts required for interesting slightly sparkly earthy effects!

lovely colours a delight to use.

I bought the colours expecting to get paints with unique granulation patterns to make my paintings more interesting, and that's exactly what I got. The pigmentation is amazing. One con these paints have is that the packaging is very misleading for the "hematite genuine" colour. When I bought this I was expecting to get a beautiful, deep, dark brown with gorgeous granulation. What I got was a dark black colour that does have the granulation, but not the colour I wanted. I do like the hematite paint, but it's not what I was expecting.

Although a bit dearer than average, the quality of Daniel Smith's watercolours never disappoints. These boxed sets are a good way of enjoying their beautiful colours in your paintings.

Well worth the price tag for a very high quality product.

I’ve been working with watercolor for a year now. I’ve used several different student grade brands of watercolor, most of which are fairly good in terms of color saturation and performance. Having tried a honey based pro brand and now Daniel Smith, I prefer the latter... and yes, pro vs student grade does make a difference with performance. Generally, the DS colors are far more concentrated than the student grade paints, making a tiny amount go a loooong way. Also, the paper (100% cotton) absolutely loves them! That being said, the primatek colors do behave A bit differently than the regular DS paints. They granulate naturally. It’s as if the mineral base sits on top of the paper allowing for streakiness, though that may be from not using enough water in my wash. The colors are subtle, except for the rhodonite, which is a pretty vibrant pink. For beautifully subtle, granulating color, I would definitely recommend these. They do dry quicker than the regular paints. It’s as if they absorb the water differently. I also purchased the essentials set. I swatched and mixed the two sets together (photo attached), which resulted in some beautiful colors. The tubes are small, but not as tiny as other reviewers led me to believe. One of the 5ml tubes will fill a full pan with paint left in the tube. The INTERIOR of the Meeden full pans I am using is 2.8mm L x 1.6 W x .08 H. N. When you break it down by cost, I paid less than $4 per full pan. That’s not bad for professional watercolors. The paints arrived on time and were hand delivered to me at my door. The boxes were taped closed and the tubes were full and unopened. All appropriate colors were in the boxes. I’m quite excited to do more painting with these paints!

Muy buenas. Se las regalé a mi madre que es pintora licenciada en Bellas Artes y sabe de lo que habla. Muy buenos tonos, buena textura y más cosas así técnicas que me dijo que no recuerdo porque no entiendo. Pero con estas acuarelas ya ha ganado un par de concursos de pintura así que van finas. Las recomiendo

Bons pinceis, certas macias, usar água e o pigmento. Custo benefício excelente.

Je n’aurais pas eu l’idée d’acheter de la jadéite, pourtant, elle est très belle. Les autres couleurs sont superbes aussi. En même temps, je n’ai encore jamais été déçue par cette marque. Et comme j’aime toutes les couleurs… je suis comblée !
