Question 1

Could you give me a realistic idea of the "write" speed for the 32GB please? (with usb2or3 port but not benchmark tests or supplier quotes) thanks.

Accepted Answer

18mb/s i tested this 32gb, that's why its not listed and just says 15x usb 2. They get very hot, they work on the device im using for about 2 years when contacts are worn out after plug in and out few times a week random. Sadly the device i use cannot use more than 32gb/s else i would not buy them

Question 2

The 128gb scandisk usb3 clip on: for the keychain. Is this metal or plastic? Its a bit difficult to tell from the picture.

Accepted Answer

Item = 'SanDisk Ultra Flair 128 GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive'. The handle is plastic. Overall, the drive is pretty-small & doesn't look too hardy to me, so I personally wouldn't put it in a keyring (at least, not continuously).

Question 3

Bought 64gb. but ony 57.2gb available. How is it acceptable? Isn't this false advertising? 7gb lower than the advertised capacity.

Accepted Answer

Dear Amazon Customer,

I am Chris from SanDisk® Customer Care. I understand that you would like to understand why the actual capacity of your 64GB USB appears to be less.

A portion of the total capacity is used to store certain functions including optimizations of the memory that support performance and endurance and therefore is not available for user storage. This is disclosed on our packaging and marketing materials when you see the statement "Actual user storage less."

As a leader in flash storage technology, SanDisk offers multiple products at different speeds and capacities to address a variety of consumer needs. To provide the optimum product for you, we're continuously improving and updating our technology, products, firmware, and design. Continual improvements and updates are made to our product (both new products and existing product lines) and can include changes to the basic file structure, formatting and other functions. These optimizations may result in variances as to the amount of memory space that is available for user storage, but are essential to performance and endurance of the products.
