Small, but puts out a serious amount of heat!
I bought this little StayWarm heater because my home office gets absolutely freezing in the winter, and I didn't want to blast the central heating for the whole house just to stay warm at my desk. For the price, I wasn't expecting much, but it’s actually a brilliant little bit of kit. The Best Bits: Dual Positions: This is the main reason I got this specific one. You can stand it up like a normal fan, or lay it flat. I keep mine flat under my desk—it's perfect for keeping your feet warm without the fan blowing directly onto your shins. Instant Heat: You don't have to wait for it to "warm up." The second you click it to the 2000W setting, it’s pumping out hot air. It takes the chill off a small-to-medium room in about 10 minutes. Safety Stuff: It’s got a "Frost Watch" setting which is handy. If you leave it plugged in and the temp drops below 5°C, it kicks in automatically. Great for a garage or a conservatory to stop pipes freezing. Things to Watch Out For: The "New" Smell: Like most cheap heaters, the first time you turn it on, it smells a bit like burning dust/plastic. Don't panic—it goes away after about 20 minutes. I’d suggest running it near an open window for its first "burn-in." Noise Level: It’s a fan heater, so it’s not silent. It’s got a steady whirring sound—fine for an office or watching TV, but if you’re a light sleeper, it might be a bit much for a bedside table. The Lead: The power cable is a bit on the short side (maybe 1 metre or so?). You’ll need to be fairly close to a plug socket unless you want to use an extension lead (though the manual usually says not to!). Verdict: It’s basic, it’s plastic, but it works exactly how it should. It’s much more powerful than it looks, and the fact that it doubles as a cooling fan for the summer makes it a great year-round purchase. If you just need a cheap way to heat one room quickly, this is the one.

Great value and very effective!
I don't usually bother to leave reviews but this little gem deserves one! After seeing how effective my Dads age old fan heater is at warming his small flat, I thought I'd get a budget one as an alternative to turning on the radiators in winter if I'm the only one in, as I spend most of the time in the bedroom (lair of the computer!). So let me say, for £11 ish, this thing is a bargain. Can't say it wins prizes for the best looking thing ever but its simple and functional. It warms a decent sized bedroom very quickly, you can feel it within minutes and, with the thermostat fairly near the lower temperature side, it heats the room up a few degrees and shuts itself off in a pretty short amount of time, certainly much more economical then having the boiler heat up the radiators. Some reviews have mentioned the noise as a negative. I'd have to disagree with that view as I find this thing isn't that bad at all, to compare it to a vacuum cleaner would be ridiculous, unless you have a VERY weak hoover. I have one of those oscillating tower fans, now that thing is noisy! This must be at least twice as quiet if not more so. I'd hardly expect a fan heater to be silent anyway, it's blowing hot hair into a room, it's going to make a bit of noise, but it's certainly quieter than using a hair dryer, for instance. So in summary, great product, especially for the price I paid. Obviously I've not had it all that long so time will tell how it fairs over winter, but a few test runs give me no reason to doubt it'll do a good job. The only small thing I think it could do with is having some scale for its thermostat knob, right now it's just a line going from thick to thin, clearly thin being the lower level of heating and thicker being higher. If it could show (18c, 20c, 22c) etc, to get a sense of what it's attempting to heat the room to, that would be ideal, but it's no biggie.

Good!
This heater was to replace one that had been rattling. The previous heater was more of the dome shape - heater fan. We used to have the 'flat kind' previously - many years ago, but had bad memories of it for some reason. This is VERY QUIET - almost TOO quiet. Being that I use this for WHITE NOISE - I haven't had a decent night's sleep since this purchase! I still pull out the 'dome heater fan' when taking a nap. At night, we use this one (my husband LOVES it)(Then again he's right next to it!) - being that this isn't a 'white noise machine product review' - I'll go back to the heating! The HEAT output is VERY Good - on both low and high settings. VERY effective and works fairly quick. My greatest qualms for this - the chord is WAY TOO short - WAY too short!! And that it's FAR too quiet. Otherwise it is a very good *heater* (must remember it's original purpose! LOL) And is very good quality - we've had this over two months now and is *very good* (For heating). (And cooling! There have been times when my husband has come in from work and wants to lay down for a bit to cool off.He turns on this heater/fan and uses just the fan element and lays down. this cools him off!) So it has multi-purposes -- but definitely not suitable for a white noise machine. lol! (had to get one more jab in there) FOUR Stars - mainly for HOW short the chord is... REALLY now, what were they thinking - we're going to all squish up against the wall - it's only about 2.5 feet long. This needs to be at least 4 - for us. (To go under/around table, furniture, etc) get an extension lead.. why? The other one didn't! (I'm sooo going to keep plugging for the other style fan LOL) it IS a good heater - if you want QUIET and fast, effective heating - AND it's very versatile - this can stand upright - NO problems (on a flat surface - if not - slide a HARD BACK book underneath that you won't miss!) Stays 'upright' WITHOUT fail. If it's laying flat (on the belly) no problems there either! If this were even slightly more loud - It'd be near perfect! (just whoever designed the thing - should really be a bit more generous in the chord - not everyone is going to want to tuck this out of the way - that being said - it's quiet - that you might forget to turn it off!) Would I buy it again? I don't know.. probably not! But AM Checking into other dome-style heater fans for my own nap times lol ;) (Good purchase though over all - does the job very well, economically speaking - not quite sure yet.. we're on a quarterly bill and know our bills very well, we - shall - see!!) This runs on 'fan only ' every night for minor white noise - used in the mornings as it's freezing now - and heats up the room very quickly. (LENGTHEN the chord!!!!) ok that said - good heater fan!

2 of these purchased, still going 8 years later
We bought 2 of these in 2017, September and November. Here we are in December 2025 and both are still running fine. They have warmed up cold and dusty workrooms in our workshop, running long enough to raise temperatures up from around 5C to where we can take of our umpteen layers :-) Simple controls work fine, and they've been used in upright and flat positions. They've beaten a more expensive fan heater that was supposed to be one of the safest in the UK, but which failed miserably after a year. Just about to purchase a third for another room.

A good Heater with Quality Control Issues
UPDATED REVIEW 8 Sep 2017 Unfortunately the replacement heater has exactly the same issue. The Thermostat does not turn off the heater. I tested it on a small room with thermostat set to it's lowest and it took the room to 27.2C and still did not shut down. So looks like a bad batch. It has been returned, defective. ORIGIINAL REVIEW Bought this when it was £12.70. Device:- ----------- This appears to be a well made, sturdy little heater. Stable in the horizontal and vertical. Has a handy handle for carrying it around. A short 90cm cable may be an issue as it limits its placement to quite close to the wall. It has a red light, between the dials, that illuminates when it is turned on. The dials are smooth so can be quite awkward to turn. On other heaters they are notched making it easier to grip and turn. The first dial sets one of four settings, Off, fan only, 1Kw Heater with fan, 2Kw heater with fan. The Second dial sets the thermostat function. Turn it right down and it sets a frost watch mode, when the temperature drops below 5C it should turn on and stay on until the room gets up to 5C. Being too warm I have not tested this function. To set the temperature turn on the heater with the thermostat dial turned up fully, in a room that you want to heat, when the temperature gets to level you want (ideally by checking a thermometer, as your feeling of hot or cold is not very reliable :-)) when it gets to the right temperature turn the thermostat dial down until it you hear a click and the heater turns off. from now on the heater should turn off when it gets to this temperature. *** On the unit I received the thermostat did not work (returned to Amazon for a replacement) Manual:- ------------ Is a 12 page A5 stapled document. It actually very good except for when the Heat Setting Dial and Thermostat Control Dials are mislabelled that may cause some initial confusion. The Operation section is really good and has photograph showing how to plug in a plug into a wall socket. Nothing is assumed with these instructions, pretty impressive actually. Worthy of note:- --------------------- 1. On using this for the first time it may smell a little as the elements warm up and burn off collected dust extra left there form manufacture. This should disappear very quickly, a couple of minutes or so of use. 2. When you first use it periodically check the heater's plug it should not be getting hot, if it does unplug and have it checked before using again. Energy Consumption:- 3. The instructions state you should always keep the heater 100cm from any wall or other object and that the heater must not be used with an extension lead. See Conclusions:- below as to why these are problems. Energy Consumption:- ------------------------------ The fan uses 27w and would cost around 1/2p per hour, at 1Kw about 16p per hour and at 2Kw about 32p per hour to run. So if you run this fan at 2Kw for one hour a day it will cost £116 per year, so not the best way to heat things up, the Central Heating is usually the cheapest way to do that. But if you need to warm up a small space occasionally for 5 minutes a day while you are in there it is acceptable and cheaper than running a radiator there :-) Conclusions:- ------------------ With a 90cm lead and instructions not to use extension leads how are you supposed to ensure a gap of 100cm around it at all times as the instruction state. The absolute furthest you can place the heater from anything is 90cm! The unit worked in all ways except the thermostat did not work at all. This is important because you want to set it to shutdown when it gets warm enough.it won't shutdown, it will just keep on going and going until you notice how hot it is and then have to face the utility bill. I am not too sure if the Frost Watch would work if the Thermostat does not work. If you put it in a room where it gets cold and there is plumbing running through it and you use this to stop it freezing - I do not have a confidence it would work. And finally, I give it One Star because if Quality Control can miss a thermostat not functioning what else are they missing thetas not so obvious, internal wiring etc. I really like avoiding fires in my home, this is why I bought a BEAB Approved heater, that is an indicator of strong future of quality being applied from the design high the way through the factory and finally testing. This one was missed. Looking through the reviews you can find plenty of cases where other similar omissions of quality control have occurred. A worrying trend with a BEAB Approved device.

Good for short bursts of heat but not for long term use
I bought this for uni because my student room is downstairs and it gets so cold. It seemed like a decent price as well. It's very easy to use. There are 3 settings: one cold blow setting, and 2 heat settings. There is also a thermostat which I actually have not used as I didn't seem to be able to figure it out. The heat on the first heat setting is good. I used to stand in front of it in the mornings to keep myself warm. However, as soon as I walked away from it, it was freezing. Basically, what I found was that this was one of those heaters that heats the person in front of it as opposed to providing heat for the whole room. I rarely use the highest heat setting because a slight burning smell comes from it. Overtime, I also found myself getting a very dry throat from this heater, I assume that it's because it's a fan heater. The noise from the heater isn't great. It's not too loud, but it's certainly not quiet. I could never have it on whilst sleeping. I couldn't even listen to the radio properly when it was on. I have since packed this heater back into its box, and I have now bought a mini oil-filled heater which is much more efficient in heating up a room.

Brilliant
My old fan heater just packed up so it was time to buy another. I was a bit dubious at first to buy something so cheap and I did not expect something as good as it was when it arrived. On arrival it tells you to check everything first before you even plug it in. I thought that was good to tell you that first and I realised it was a good seller to alert you of these things first. After a good inspection I found it was all okay so I plugged it in and tried it out. Brilliant!! and it really gave out some heat on the 2KW setting. My old one was a 3KW and of course blew some really hot air out and sometimes too hot so I decided to go for a 2KW model this time. It is quiet and can hardly notice it's on and the thermostat works flawlessly. Setting it to your own comfort zone takes some time but once it is set then it just works very well. I was amazed at the price of these and I never expected anything as good as this for the relatively cheap price. I have it tucked away in a corner of my small bedroom and the beauty of this is that it will work with a smart socket. My old one was too powerful and I couldn't find a smart socket that would take 3KW. So, I knew the smart socket would take up to 2KW and this is one reason I purchased it. The fins on the front are metal and the unit can stand upright or on it's belly. The flex cord is really good quality too and does not get warm at all, even on high setting. The beauty too is now I have it connected to my smart plug and all set up for my Echo, all I do now is ask Alexa to turn on my heater before I go to bed. I am pleased and happy with this and if I was you I would not even listen to the bad reviews and go for one. Honestly! they are brilliant.
