Helinox Chair One

When people hear how much I paid for this chair they almost fall off theirs. I'm very happy with every aspect of it when considering it's features.... Lightweight, easy to pack and carry, comfortable to sit in for extended periods (6ft2), the green looks great. It's a brilliant travel chair robust when put together which is very quick and so simple, packs down to store in any bag or the included bag (I never use this and just shove the frame and canvas in my pack). It's large enough for a tall guy like me to sit in comfortably. So all things considered it performs really well against all it's features so in my opinion this is good value for your money you are buying a quality product here.

What blew me away when I first got this was how small and light it was when packed away. The bag is around a foot long and weighs very little. It also has looks on the bag so you can strap it to your pack, which is very useful. The chair is very easy to assemble and takes very little time. It's incredibly comfortable. Even though the feet are close together, the frame has some give/rock which means that you can lean back with your full weight and the front feet won't leave the ground (I'm 6', 13.5 stone). The only thing that isn't amazing about this chair, which people have already said, is that the feet aren't very big, so your weight isn't dispersed over a larger area so the feet will sink into soft ground. The way I have remedied this is by making some small wooden squares out of a wooden board that have little divots in for the feet to go into. I put them in the bag with the chair and put them under the feet when I'm on soil, and it does the job, but you sacrifice a bit of stability. It's still an amazing chair which I would highly recommend.

My dear old portable chair was nearing the end of its days and I was looking for something lightweight to replace it. This little chair is fantastic. Being a back sufferer I needed a light, stowable but comfortable chair for picnics and the beach and this is just fantastic. It is easy and quick to assemble and always looks good. It holds its position well on the ground and in sand. With a small lumbar cushion I can sit comfortably in the Helinox for ages. It seems to adapt itself to your shape and position. I love the tubular construction and the blue colour. It's strong but so portable you can easily pack it in a suitcase or pop it in a beach bag. Being low, it can present a challenge to get out of but I'm used to it now and it's not a problem as it is strong and stable. It's the lightest chair I have ever found and I'm absolutely thrilled with it.

I am someone who never normally writes reviews but felt I had to as this chair is absolutely brilliant! I did hesitate at the price but I do a lot of serious hiking and after a lot of research decided to take the plunge and buy it. Well, I am so delighted that I did, what a clever design! Simple and very quick to put together, literally a few seconds and so comfy and strong. Folds down so small it fits in either a small backpack or rucksack with ease and it's so light! I would not hesitate to recommend this chair to anyone. If I could have given it 10 stars I would have but only five are allowed!

The Wanted a chair that I could put in the bottom of a rucksack or bag and was lightweight. This is really light and can be put together in a few seconds. It's really comfortable too. Looks really smart and well made, can't wait to take it out with me. Not cheap but looks like it'll last for years. Would of been good if they had added some kind of shoulder strap too but I've added a caribe clip to the handle so can clip it on to things. Very pleased with this purchase.

Reason for purchase: Wanted a space saving, small and comfortable chair that can easily be kept in my micro campervan.The good: Packs down so small, so it really is very compact. Its durable for such a small item, and its light enough to also throw in a backpack and take along on adventures.The bad: Although its comfortable, its not as comfortable as a standard camping chair, but the compromise here is you are getting something far smaller and more compact in exchange for that. It also has a lower weight restriction, but again, that's a compromise.Would I buy again: Absolutely.

We purchased two of these chairs following a review in a photography magazine and watching the companies own website video. The chair is incredibly light and very quick and easy to assemble. Comfort is good. The chair would be great in a low tent where height is important. Fortunately it is also easy to disassemble and put back in it's bag, even in the dark. I managed to get both packed chairs in a 25 litre backpack including dslr camera gear. Quality is excellent and the chairs should last for years. The only thing to watch is that they don't blow away on a windy day if you are not in the chair.

Absolutely superb piece of kit...I weigh 17 stones and 6ft tall. First day tested it and sat and watched a very long film "Interstellar" in my front room and no cramp,really comfortable, in fact the film was so boring I fell asleep in the Helinox Chair One, so there's an endorsement if ever there was one.I am a photographer so it comes everywhere and you don't even know you are carrying it.I managed to get a shoulder strap to carry it. So maybe Helinox will consider providing one in future.I also purchased some of the Concept4u 7/8" 22mm Rubber Walking Stick Ferrule Protector - 4 Pack ( Cane Crutch Bottom End / Chair Feet / Stool Leg Ferrules ) from Amazon £2.65 for when I sit on soft ground and they work perfectly. They fit tightly over the existing rubber feet so they don't fall off when you pick it up, and the chair still fits perfectly into the bag with them fitted.It maybe more expensive than the cheap Chinese copies but I read several reviews where the cheap ones broke, and looking at the Helinox the quality is as good as it get's. In fact I recommended it to 3 other friends so far and they have all purchased one with the same impressive results.

Game changer! After I sat in one that a friend owns, I had to have it for myself. Lightweight and extremely well built. I spend a lot of time in the field and this super compact, lightweight chair has been an awesome addition to the gear list. Very comfortable.

Well worth the extra price over the other cheaper priced chairs of similar design. Quality of material and workmanship is obviously superior. Fits my needs as a hunter/shooter.I had this chair on my Amazon shopping list for several months and was undecided if the extra cost over the other numerous lower cost chair was justified. I was first made aware of this chair when I saw a fellow shooter using it during a match earlier this year. I saw how easy it was for her to assemble and later put away. It was compact and seemed lightweight. It made my “want” list. I already have another folding chair for field (hunting) use. It was sturdy and fitted my needs. So I was in no hurry to get another.I finally brought it over the Black Friday marked down deal sale. I am very glad I did. The chair weight, with it’s included zipped up bag, just an ounce or two over 2 lbs. It collapsed into a bag that measured around one foot long and no more than 6 inches in diameter. It fits easily into my day-pack or strapped on the outside. It has strap loops on the case to allowed that.It is comfortable to sit in and is sturdy on uneven ground. Last but most important for me as a hunter/shooter, it is at a good height to let me sit in a low profile position optimized for extended observation and to engage targets when I need to shoot.

These are crazy expensive for what they are - however, for our hiking lifestyle it was well worth the expense. I got two of them, and we love them. My partner is quite a large man and he fits into it perfectly. We love that they don't weigh much when hiking so we don't feel like we are carrying a heavy, sturdy chair. VERY easy to set up. VERY easy and quick to break down. I highly recommend this one. Also, I did a LOT of looking around at other less expensive brands, especially reading reviews, and while there are less expensive versions of this chair out there - what I found on the reviews don't make it worth it. For me it was comments like "corners poke into me" or "narrower than the Helinox" or "broke after x amount of uses" or "not good customer service or warranty issues". When I saw those kinds of consistent comments on other products, I decided the extra price was worth the hassle free, more comfort of this chair.
