I love this henna!
Please read this review carefully as I added highlights instead of doing the whole head* For a while I've been wanting to put ginger tones on my already bleached hair (not a full head of bleach) but I didn't want to damage it with conventional dyes and they don't ever last very long. So I recently came across Henna powder and I am very happy with the results! I mixed the powder up with apple cider vinegar and left it over night for the colour to release. I found that I didn't have to use much of the powder, which means that 100g will last me a while. I'd say I used about 30g the first time I did it and 20g the next time, I applied it as if I was putting in highlights with a highlighter brush which didn't create much mess. The first time I did it I left the henna on for 2 hours and it went a really vibrant orange. 2 weeks later, the colour had faded a bit in parts but was still a nice light golden-orange colour. The second time I did it, which was a few days ago (see pictures, it's a bit more orange in person), it turned out a really nice colour and I left it for 1 hour and a half. Because I have oily hair type, I can't wash my hair once a week or use conditioner, I try to wash it twice a week and use dry shampoo in between. the less you wash your hair the longer the colour lasts of course. I also find that washing it with lukewarm-cold water stops the colour from fading. I highly recommend this henna because the quality is fantastic and it hasn't damaged my hair. I don't blow dry my hair and I wouldn't ever bleach my hair over the bits that were already bleached so my hair was in good condition prior to using henna. If you only add highlights to your hair it's less messy and is easier to touch up again!

lovely hair henna
okay so i was skeptical when i first prepared this henna. i reallllly wanted to dye my hair because iโm currently growing it out from a pixie (itโs under chin length now) but i didnโt want the chemicals. my hair is naturally level 6 dark brown. i prepared a strand test henna and left it for 3 1/2 hours in the bowl covered with cling film, but couldnโt see any dye release and i thought maybe i got an old or bad batch. i contacted Itโs Pure who were super helpful and quick to respond and gave me some tips, so I did the strand test on my hair and left it on for 3 hours, it made a subtle but lovely difference! I thought what the hell and did it all over my hair which was surprisingly easy and wow!!!!! the colour is so gorgeous and my hair is SO SOFT! I highly recommend Itโs Pure henna! A few tips: Always use aloe vera powder! I use 1 tsp for 100g henna. Use a splash of lemon juice Leave henna to โcureโ overnight! Youโll see the dye release on the top and youโll know itโs ready.

Great hair dye when used with indigo
This hair dye is amazing, Iโm allergic to ppd in cosmetic hair dye and found this! Used with indigo it creates the perfect dark brown colour and covers grey hair with no reaction

Really pleased with the result
First time using henna. Bit unsure about this 'experiment'! Ordered and it came the next day. Well packaged. Instructions had a hole in the middle so I asked my friend, who has done this before, to give me some tips and I thoroughly read the reviews before I started! I have short, fine, dark hair with some white hair coming through. Have always chemical dyed before. I mixed up half the packet with 75ml fresh lemon juice and 75ml warm water. Left in the airing cupboard overnight. Left on for 3 hours the next day while I did my cleaning. I'm pleased with the result, though my 7 year old thinks it's too orange (but she has an opinion on everything!). Next time I will just mix up a 1/4 of the full packet as I threw alot of the mix away. My hair feels healthy, white hairs fully covered, and my scalp is not itchy (which it usually is after applying chemical dye). This is the new way forward for me. Actually really pleased with the whole 'experiment'.

great henna powder
This henna makes the smoothest paste as there are no gritty bits in it like I have found with other hennas. I usually mix with tea and let it brew overnight. I use this to give my brown hair a burgundy tint, and also as a conditioning treatment. Washes out really easily.

My now go-to Henna Hair Dye
If you're committed to using henna, I definitely recommend this brand. I switched over after my go-to brand became ridiculously expensive, and I'm so glad I did. As a natural dark brunette, it gives my hair a nice red tone. โMy routine: โ- Followed Option 1 instructions (letting it brew for 8-24 hours). โ- Mixed using 1 lemon's juice and hot (not boiling) tea water. โ- Added 1 tsp extra virgin olive oil and a dash of nutmeg to offset the typical henna smell. - Leave on hair for 3ยฝ hours (instructions state not to leave on for more than 4 hours). โI've included photos taken in direct sunlight, shade, and under nighttime lighting so you can see how the color shifts in different light.

Itchy reaction
I used this henna for the first time last week, the application was easy and coverage very good, unfortunately I developed an allergic reaction to it and four days later am still suffering from itchy ears and scalp, also irritation to my facial skin, very dissappointing as very happy with consistency and ease of application.
