Best solution for getting rid of back hair!
I had a challenging time while researching for a solution to trim/shave my back-body hair. Any old trimmer can be used for the front of your body (and other places)...but the BACK is tricky, especially if you do not have someone intimate enough to lend a helping hand or in some cases you just do not feel comfortable asking beings around you to help.Well, my problems stopped when I came across the Mangroomer. At first, it was like anything else - too good to be true but it is one of those breakthrough products that solves a real problem, especially amongst men...I hope. Its quite easy to use once you get the hang of it - maybe after your first trial run.Best things about the Mangrooomer are as follows:1) Easily extendable long arm; more than sufficient length for reaching body areas for any human on the planet2) Trims hair to a length that gives the effect of "shaven" but does not actually shave - cuts to extremely tiny lengths.3) Battery powered so no need to worry about charging4) Attractive design5) Light weightWould definitely recommend it to anyone. Been using it for just under a year now...and also gifted it to a person.

terrible waste of resources
This is the worst item I have ever purchased. I guess it's live and learn. I gambled after reading mixed reviews on Amazon. The idea seems ok but its not really a shaver, more a very weak trimmer. It failed to cut any of my body hair on my back. It is very flimsy and was a complete waste of money. I have contacted Amazon and they were brilliant. They have agreed to full refund. I've just bought a Phillips Bodygroomer, which at 50 pounds is worth every penny. I have reviewed it on Amazon too. It has an adapter for reaching the back and worked so well. Avoid the mangroomer unless you want to gamble like I did.

Fuzzy no more
Pros:Does remove my thick gorilla back hair- I wouldn't say im King Kong level hairy but have quite a covering!Has extending handle so you can reach all parts of your back!Easy to use- i go up/down & then side to side.Cons:battery powered- buy good batteries or give up.It doesn't completely remove hair as such like waxing- basically its an electric shaver on a stickFairly "Buzzy"- it's not quiet! So don't use late at night or neighbors will think you're making use of an industrial vibratorSummaryDoes remove my back hair & is idiot proof! I found best hair removal was to use when back completely dry and go up/down & then side to side to make sure you buzz off all the back carpet.8/10 rating- it does the job as advertised.

Excellent product!
I don't often have time or can be bothered to leave reviews, but feel compelled on this occasion. I was sceptical buying this product due to some complaints on the flimsiness and cheap feel of the item. Well in my opinion this is not the case, and I am quite fussy and like my stuff built to last. The construction is actually very good with no flex or bits falling off, it is very lightweight and I believe this may be where others have felt it lacking, but in my opinion is what is needed in a product you are going to be holding with one hand behind your back! As far as getting the job done is concerned, I am amazed at how easy and efficient this is at giving you a hair free back. Very simple to position with the help of a mirror and no fatigue due to it's light weight. People who complain about discomfort... well, 'no pain no gain' lol! I certainly didn't have a problem. Can't recommend it enough!

Best point: it works (so far) Worst point
Best point: it works (so far)Worst point: ludicrously over-priced, so only three stars. Around £10 would probably be an appropriate price for something of this quality.Other good points- prompt delivery- suitably packed for safe shipping - typical Amazon style: large cardboard box with lots of stiff brown paper cushioning- option of free delivery, without 'Prime' trial- light in weight- good, long handle which extends- cutter type suitable for my particular requirements (see 'cutter types' later)- just about the only device of its type available, other than (1) an even more expensive version from Mangroomer, the hyperbolically named 'Ultimate Pro' version which is not available from Amazon at present, and which apparently has some extra features but which may or may not be more substantially made or (2) the Philips 'TT2040 Rechargeable All-in-one Bodygroom Pro' which is also more expensive (£40), has a shorter handle and is a foil-type cutter (see 'cutter type' below).Other bad points:- looks smart but feels flimsy and insubstantial. Probably not very robust - I wonder how well it would withstand being dropped from any great height onto a hard surface, or how durable it would be when used regularly, particularly the hinge- noisy and vibrates, which suggests a cheap-and-cheerful mechanical design, of possibly limited durability- no spare cutter blade or even possibility of replacing cutter blade- no cover or guard for the cutter when not in use- supplied in just a blister display pack - no storage box or case; not even a bag- no batteries supplied- uses disposable batteries (not supplied). For the high price asked (£33) I would expect a rechargeable battery system and a charger to be included- blister pack says 'Warning - read safety instruction before use' but there are virtually no safety instructions - although probably not really needed anyway- requires a double mirror to give a view of one's back, as well as a bit of practice, to be able to use effectively to trim hair on one's back. But I guess that would apply to any device used to trim one's own back hair!Cutter types: as I see it, there are broadly three types:- cutters with large exposed reciprocating teeth, usually used for ordinary haircutting / hairdressing and which are often available with a variety of guards or combs to permit trimming to different hair lengths, of up to 1/2" or even more- cutters with finer exposed teeth, sometimes part of a conventional electric foil razor, used mainly for trimming moustaches, sideburns or even neck hair. Designed to give a close trim but not really to shave to a smooth surface. The Mangroomer is a cutter of this type, which is fine for my needs.- foil-type cutters, like nearly all electric razors, where one or more reciprocating or rotating cutters work against the inside of a thin, perforated foil to give a cutting action. These can give a very close shave, comparable with a wet razor blade, but since the hairs have to penetrate the foil, don't usually work very well with anything longer than stubble. The Philips razor mentioned above is of this type, and therefore possibly not very suitable for long, straggly hair like back hair often is.My requirements: I am in my 70s and I do not have thick, black, manly-looking hair on my chest or back (or shoulders or arms) - it is now fine, grey, whispy, curly and several inches long and, frankly, looks a bit of a straggly mess. I have never bothered to trim it in the past but I recently trimmed my chest hair to half-an-inch or so using scissors, which tidied things up a lot but left me still with a hairy chest, which am happy with. However I was still left with straggly hair on my back, shoulders and upper arms and I found this was tricky to deal with just using scissors. The Mangroomer has dealt with this perfectly and trimmed it all off. It will be interesting to see how long it will be before it needs trimming again. So, Mr Mangroomer Maufacturer: get the price down to something sensible, like, say £10 or so, and you could have a lot of very satisfied customers. How long mine will last before it wears out or breaks I do not know (I have used it once so far) but fortunately I do not expect to have to use it more than just a few times a year.I hope these notes may be helpful to anyone else contemplating buying one of these devices.
